Giovanni Xanis had never been a man of the faith. He was dutiful to the church. He spoke his prayers and broke his bread as best as any good catholic man. Yet he had lost faith in prophets and divine beings many years ago. Now, it was habit and the need to maintain appearances that we went to mass. An honorable, reputable, flawless Italian man could almost never afford to miss Sunday service if he wished to remain in the good graces of other families. He may sin, but he feared no God. Why fear a God when it was your destiny to be reborn?

Today's sermon grated on him more so than normal.
‘Why should not the son suffer for the iniquity of the father?’
Why shouldn’t the son suffer for the sins of their father? It was no doubt the son who may be the root of the sin. The mother of the son that cause such sin? Was the son not the product of sin? It was the duty of a son to inherit all the father left to him, good and bad.

Elzo sinned just as bad as he, and was the cause of more crimes than Giovanni cared to think upon. Had he not killed for Elzo’s legacy? For the boy to have a life many would dream for? The boy had cast him off, and all Giovanni had done for him treated so… flippantly.

Yet tonight, the patriarch of the Xanis house mused, the sin of the father would punish the impudence of the son provided he played his part right.
Yvaine was a decent sort of woman. Comely even. Granted, never the sort Giovanni would normally pursue, but she was Elzo’s favored, and that was reason enough to try and seduce her with his charm and honey words. Dinner, he had requested of her, to know the woman who had caught his son’s eye. Secret of course, he did not wish to rile his boy with needless fatherly meddling. He simply wished to see one he hoped might become his daughter-in-law.

Or, his latest conquest.
Whichever.

So as he finished mulling over Sunday service in the entry to the restaurant, he wondered if in America, it was rude to arrive early. He rather hoped not.

Yvaine had no idea what she was doing, and could only hope that she didn’t say anything that made her seem too strange. Hopefully, if she could keep him talking about himself long enough, the gaps in her memory would not be too apparent. Her heart fluttered in her chest, she sincerely hoped that he would like her. She wished she had been better prepared. She wished the timing was less cruel.

The brunette looked herself in the mirror and sighed deeply. Why was she going this? She asked herself as she arranged her hair as neatly as a half dreaded thatch could be arranged. Maybe her hair looked wild, but the rest of her looked presentable at least, thanks to Jada. She was fresh faced besides one mascara and a red lipstick, Yvaine had freckles and small sun spots across her face, she used to hide them under foundation as Ofelia.

She was doing this for Elzo. She reminded herself of the man who she had been introduced to as her boyfriend, a man who loved her despite her condition and promised to allow her all the time she needed to get reacquainted and comfortable again. She felt a loyalty to him, a proactiveness she could not shake? Love? A love that needed no reasoning, no memories to back it up, more so a part of her.

She exited the taxi and entered the restaurant, in front of her was a man that she could not mistake for Elzo’s father. Damn it, she at least wanted to arrive first, gain the upper ground for the introduction if nothing else. “Mr Xanis?” She smiled, genuinely, naively.

The question of his name had him spinning, eyes seeking their speaker.

She looked very different in person, much different than his son's normal tastes now that he was really seeing her in blood and flesh. Brunette perhaps, but not that doe eyed innocent or mirthful youth; Elzo tended to desire women that he could have for his pleasures then abandon. Father like son in that aspect. So to see the women in dreadlocks, a dress that showed an rather immodest amount of skin and she wore her face rather bare. Another difference than Elzo's usual taste in women.

Giovanni was now very intrigued.

"Yvaine I assume?" He held out his hand in greeting as if to shake it, but the second he hand her hand, his closed, turning it to press a kiss on her knuckles.
The kiss lingered just a fraction of a second too long before he let go.

"Thank you for joining me this evening. I feared I had arrived too early. American customs differ than what I am used to."

He offered his arm, looking briefly at the hostess.
"Our table should be ready for us. I do so want this night to be a most-" he hummed, a smirk playing at his mouth, "-enjoyable one."

There was the hint of something wicked in his gaze, but it was not to different than the one Elzo wore upon rare occasion. There could be no doubt they were indeed, related.

Yvaine bowed her head slightly when he addressed her, holding out her hand for him to take. Grey eyes watched as he brought her hand to his lips. She smiled, amused by the similarity. Elzo had greeted her in the same way when they met as civilians for the first time. The brunette could feel her breath catch, realising the action had triggered a memory lost to her before. Elzo took after him, which means she was in more trouble than she had first thought.

“Then, it is a good thing I am not here to test you. Politeness and respect are customs worldwide, no offence can be had if they are adhered to, don’t you agree?” She moved to stand closer to him, wrapping her arms around his. Yvaine was almost as tall as the Xanis men, but like the brothers Giovanna stood just slightly larger than herself. Her eyes were on him as he spoke, walking by his side. “That makes two of us.” She did her best to act naive to the look he gave her, to the intent of his words.

As they followed the hostess, she used the closeness to talk to him frankly, before they had a table separating them. “On the topic of customs, it is I that should be asking forgiveness. You are at a bit of an advantage, the subtleties of business and politics are lost on me. So, please be gentle with your interrogation and do not judge me too harshly.” Direct, maybe, but she had always been more of a blunt instrument. The expression on her face was soft, unthreatening but unthreatened at the same time. Her words came off as humorous.

As their seats came up, she gave a small pause, giving her boyfriends father a chance to grab her seat for her if it pleased him.

Had Elzo known his father was with Yvaine he would have warned her, told her of the dangers his father posed to her, to him, to Marlo, the twins, to Jada and to everyone.
But Elzo was not there to warn her of the man who smiled so kindly to her and lead her to their seating. The man who looked at her a little too closely, appraising her worth on her looks and how she carried herself on his arm.
He thought she was indeed, nothing more than a dalliance for his son. Nothing more than a little temptation to use and discard as he saw fit.

“Ah, you say that with such sincerity Yvaine. Many would test me given the nature of my work, and in my status. But-“ He leaned down to her ear, words cloyingly thick with their accented lit, “-I can be gentle as you need Tesora, but even I will not take a refusal to my queries lightly.” He smiled, eyes holding a flase kindness, a mask of intent and ruthlessness that was every inch a predator’s gaze.
A gaze both Elzo and his brother gaze when they discussed business to those they sought to bring to heel.

Pulling out Yvaine’s seat for her, he even went as far as to dust it with his hand before motioning to take her place. Once she was seated, he took his spot across from her, eyes darting to the silverware before taking his napkin and polishing one of the forks.
“Tell me tesora, what is it that you do? My son speaks so little to me of his personal life, you will find that while I am a skilled business man, I am lacking as a father should be in his son’s life. Considering-“ he motioned to her, “his fondness of you.” Giovanni elaborated.
“The fact I know your name and he has not hidden his affection for you tells me quite a lot, but not all a father would wish to know.”

His words gave her chills and for the first time that night, Yvaine ignored her instinct.

Yvaine sat down, happy to put the power in his hands for now. “Tesora?” It was a question. Marlo had always been so reluctant to call her by a nickname and Elzo had never decided on one to give her. The fact that Giovanni had settled on one so quickly was noteworthy.

She sat back straight against her seat, her shoulders broad. She had the posture of a Crystal Girl and the composure that was expected of them. “If I can speak honestly; your sons do not talk about your family at all.”She had felt guilty at first, that turning up tonight was a betrayal of trust between her and Elzo. However, her boyfriend still had his secrets and Marlo had insisted she not ask too many questions about the past. She did not know what else she was meant to do.

After everything they had been through over the months, being kept in the dark hurt. More than she let on at times. She rested her hands on her lap, lacing her fingers together as grey eyes settled on the older man. “I am a musician and a nomad. My family are entertainers and poets, though I have not seen any of them in a very long time.” It was the truth, her mother was an author and her father was an actor. She wondered if he had tried to find information on her? There would be nothing to find as this identity and glamour was new. Maybe that is why he decided to meet her in person.

She picked up on his words quickly, or at least the meaning behind them. “Does he usually hide his girlfriends from you, Mr Xanis?” She countered.

“It means treasure. I can think of no better endearment, as you are quite the catch, and given Elzo’s tendency to hide and horde information it is fitting isn’t it? He covets you, and I am beginning to see why.” Giovanni motioned to a waiter, asking for a bottle of wine. When informed they lacked his selection, he frowned. He’d called ahead to ensure his choice would be available. It was easily enough to be remedied, but later he’d take a small bit of pleasure in selling out a sommelier to the negaverse.

“As for our family. We have never been close. My son has always been distant, not quite taking after me. He is a rather secretive man and unfortunately passionate about what he loves. It is a fault in most men of the Xanis family.” The patriarch eyed Yvaine carefully, icy gaze roving seeking cracks and holes where to sink his fingers and twist until he had a hook.
“I hope he is not keeping anything from you. You would not deserve such.” He let the comment lie in the waters of their conversation. Let her take what implications from it as she would.

“Though, I am told I can be difficult at times. Perhaps that is why he feels no need to mention me. As I said before, we are not close.” The wine arrived and Giovanni had them both poured a glass. A soft white, to start them off. Slowly, he’d have the drinks become richer in flavor, masking their intensity and alcohol content. He wanted her lucid, not drunk, but just malleable enough.
“He keeps most of his life from me Yvaine,” he used her name, running it over his tongue, testing how she reacted to his tone and inflection of familiarity, “sons do not always agree with their fathers. So I am here to rectify that. Starting with you tesora.” He smiled.

“You may have wandered into my son’s life and sung to him as sweet as a siren, but I would also like to know you and embrace you… in time.” His smile did not meet his eyes.

Yvaine listened to his explanation, bowing her head slightly, hair falling over her shoulders to frame her face. “Thank you, though you flatter me too much.” Grey eyes watched the interaction with the waiter, but she made no comment. ”I sincerely apologise, it seems I have misjudged you. I am well aware that I am probably not what you expected and thought you invited me here to express concern.” Always blunt, always too quick to open up.

Maybe he did not know Elzo well enough to be concerned, Marlo had, he was always concerned when it came to his brother. At times it was easy to forget he was the younger of the two. “Yet, he is very close to his brother.” Always to a fault. She pointed out as the waiter returned with wine. She waited for him to reach for his glass first, before taking hers and swirling the liquid therapeutically. “Then, why now? If it has always been this way, what was the catalyst to inspire reconciliation?” She asked with a small shrug.

”Was it your grandchildren?”

Yvaine paused at the comment, her eyes drifting downwards to look at the wine as it danced in the glass. His name seemed rather strange coming from his mouth like there was a meaning she was not quite picking up on. She gave him the benefit of the doubt, reassuring herself that there were no enemies in this room.

“It was Elzo who found me.” She admitted, if he did want to know her, then she could at least offer that tiny bit of information. Yvaine would not have approached a man like Elzo and certainly not Castor, but he had always been so adamant about helping her. She flushed lightly at the thought. “All I did was ask him to take me with him.” Whatever challenges were to come, she had asked for them and would take full responsibility. Elzo was worth it, she had no regrets.

She raised the glass slightly, nodding her head.

He chuckled darkly at her seeming bashful behavior. So poised and coy. Elzo was just like him, wanting to ruin things as was their wickedness. Their Xanis blood.
“I flatter only with truth Yvaine. It would do me no good to lie to the woman my son is so fond of. As for your apology, there is no need. I expected only a woman. If you were not one, well, then I would find myself at a far greater disadvantage and loss than I would know how to properly… handle.” Elzo could be afforded many things, but perversions was not one of them. Not of THAT nature. It would jeopardize the company’s stocks too much.

Giovanni winced at the mention of Marlo, even if not by name. The worm would always managed to find a way to him. If only he had the decency to die all those years ago and solve so many issues.

He ignored it. Just like he tended to with things he had nothing pleasant to say about.

“I came for my children. As far as I know grandchildren are a bit of a ways off. Or is there a secret Elzo has been keeping from me?” He smirked at her, wondering if she knew. It would be hard for her not to miss his obvious denial of Guilia and Aiden as his grandchildren.
Downing some of his wine, he looked through the glass at her, tilting it to her.
“I will not be upset, just a bit disheartened. Everyman wishes to know their legacy. If my son has been seeking to keep you from a happiness, I will stand by you if need be.” He could raise Elzo’s brats. It would be a true twist of a knife.

“But, enough of such unpleasantness, You say my son found you? You make it seem like it was love at first sight. How did he manage to gain a lady like yourself. Certainly not his manners. The boy still cannot use the right folk as formal dinners.”

And the plot thickens. My mother, bless her soul, would love to have known your family, your legacy is unfolding before me like one of her mystery novels.” Cassandra was laughing at her from the cauldron, she was sure of it. ”You are a very intriguing man, Giovanni.” She stated, knowing full well that intriguing men were usually dangerous.

To her credit, her face did not give much away. Yvaine was surprised about the control she had over her emotions, a personality trait that she was sure took her many years to develop, but came to naturally now. She brought the glass to her lips, drinking a lot slower than her companion. She savoured its flavours, every so often staring into the rich liquid like she was in deep thought. She supposed that Elzo had never actually said that the twins were his children, but many people believed them to be so, including the twins themselves. She should have been more direct with him, instead of always just accepting things as they were presented to her.

She was frustrated, more with herself than anyone else. There was a fine line between giving him the space he needed, and not being invasive enough.
“No, there is no news to share.” She shook her head, amusement spreading across her face. It was hilarious really, but she thought it was best not to laugh, he would probably find it rather strange if she did. The brunette seemed to have a habit of getting herself into trouble and she was beginning to think this meeting was a bad idea; she was more underprepared than she first thought.

“I think that is romanticizing too much for my tastes, I am not a particularly sentimental person.” It was a half truth, the pendant from Galenos was a permanent fixture around her neck. She wore her hair in dreadlocks to remember the family she once had as Eir. Both were lost to her. “Love to me is not possession, commitment nor is it romance. Maybe what I see in Elzo, is the fact that he reveres it as much as I do.” There was no need to bring up how Elzo had suffered in the past, his father would know the story of his ex-wife who still remained a mystery to her.

The simple fact was, Yvaine would stay with Elzo as long as he would allow it. Even if all intimacy was lost between them. Even if sacrifices were asked of her. Even if she knew the only outcome would be pain. That is why she feared love so much. However, being with Elzo came as easy as breathing air into her lungs, even without all her memories, even when she had forgotten herself; she still found herself falling into his arms. She never thought she would find love like that.

“What would you recommend?” She asked, as menus were brought to the table, she put down her half empty glass next to her and bowed her head at the waiter in thanks.

Yvaine was deceptive, he realized. While she didn’t entirely look the part, she held herself in the manner of high class, she also spoke in a way that reflected a higher upbringing that her appearance did not hint towards outright.
“My condolences.” He said, catching the past tense in reference of her mother. False empathy and sympathy was easy enough to fabricate with grief. “I am sure she and I would have enjoyed one another’s company greatly.” Perhaps in more ways than one if her daughter’s looks were anything to go by. Alas, a door closed, it was no point to think on such useless things. He was here to ruin this woman for his son. To utterly destroy them both.

“Though, I will admit, I am almost sad that there is no grandchild from Elzo yet. I would think he’d be rather aggressive on the approach but, he does have some business sense when an heir would be appropriate.” Giovanni shrugged, feigning passivity yet knowing he was presenting anything but such a thing.
“Not to assume that is. Just- he has always been rather decisive in his wants. His first wife and he- ah now that was tragic.” Giovanni swirled his wine, sipping at it while his eyes roved the woman, trying to read her.

“If you mean the meal, something light. A braised vegetable sauté or perhaps their quail? Richer but I would not a change of wines through dinner. Your drink should always pair and it is of no burden to me.” Americans tended to be so pointed with money.
“Or did you mean how to win my son’s affections in a more permanent manner?”

“You know best, and will have whatever you recommend.” Yvaine closed her menu and laid it down on the table. She was giving him little bits of power, little bits of control. He seemed like a man who wanted that, another similarity between father and son perhaps.

The brunette brought the glass back to her lips, taking another sip before playing with the flute with long, violinist fingers. Her red lipstick stained the edge of the glass like two small kisses. Yvaine smiled at his comment about her mother, not the innocent smile that had been gracing her face all night, but a much darker one; like he was foolish to think such a thing. Cassandra Seer would have enjoyed his company greatly, but that relationship would be very one sided. She regretted her mother's death, but she did not miss her. It was hard to yearn for a woman that you only remembered fragments of, especially when those fragments consisted of abuse.

Her eyes fixed on him as her fingers continued to play with her glass, playing with it like she would an instrument. “What happened? To his ex-wife?” She asked bluntly. It was very to the point and she did not come up with an excuse to talk about it, or a reason why she did not know. She was asking him bluntly and openly. She did not shy away, and her blue eyes kept fixed on his, as if she was trying to work him out. After all, it was not only her that was baring all for assessment tonight.

Whatever Giovanni's intentions were; she could not help but feel like he had gotten the wrong impression. Of what kind of woman she was, of what she longed for. The last thing she wanted was to disappoint him - but she felt like she was going to. Her and Elzo, they were not designed for happy endings. Married life, two and a half kids, a dog and a white picket fence. That was not her. That was not him. Not as they were now.

Her gaze broke from him as she brought her hand to her face, resting it on her jaw, elbows on the table might not have been the best manners, but it was only fair she tested him since he very much seemed to be testing her. Nobody hit so many sensitive topics by accident, not unprovoked. “So, you do not think my love, charm, beauty, and charisma is enough to keep Elzo by my side?” She asked him, leaning forward slightly, one of her fingers resting on her bottom lip. Elzo did not often see this side of her, for all his secrets - she had her own. She was not as innocent as he might want to believe, and she was not naive to the world.

“I like direct men, I already said I am not accustomed to the subtleties of business, did I not?” Her voice was gentler, softer.

"The quail then. The richness of the meat yet delicate flavor profile will suite nicely with the wine chosen for dinner." He nodded, feeling that this woman was smarter than he'd given her credit for. Perhaps she was well breed and simply passed herself of as other than high society? It was not uncommon for later rebellion of parental notions, (Elzo a living testament to this).

He did not miss the unkind smile, and he felt a sharpness in his head. A click that Yvaine was something more than he'd initially assumed.

He'd have to tread carefully then- or simply not tread carefully at all.

"His previous wife died shortly after they separated. Under more than mysterious circumstances as it were. She was a good woman, decent sort. But Elzo was fiercely in love with her, put too much of his heart into her and she? She wanted what he could not give her apparently so she left him. He did not take her rejection well." He implied violence, revenge, but not with tone, with judgement, just with societal norms. Biases and notions.

"And to put it bluntly Yvaine, no. You could offer Elzo the sun and stars and he would not be sated." Giovanni did not smile at her, his face an impassive mask of indifference.
"I may not know him well, but I raised him and know him in many ways, better than he knows himself. The boy is devoted and passionate. He already loved, he already chose who he would have, and she is gone. Now, he yearns for a void to be filled. What reason does he have to devote himself to you? Why should he fill the void of his heart with a woman who gives her trust so freely? What do you offer him?"

The Italian sneered openly at her.
"He could have any woman Yvaine, any woman he wanted. So what do you have that no other woman does and why would Elzo want it enough to call you his wife?" Ice cold eyes looked at her ringless finger.
"Until you wear a ring, you are a dalliance. But- one I think might have potential." The sneer twisted to a smile.
"It is simply a matter of unlocking it."

The brunette swirled the last of the alcohol in her glass before bringing it to her lips to finish it off. The tall woman seemed to deflate as she placed the glass back on the table, letting out a small sigh. “And she is gone, death parted them.” She repeated his words, looking at the older man sharply, disappointed he had no more information to offer than she already knew. Colds perhaps, but she refused to feel threatened by a dead woman. She refused to let a tragedy in Elzo’s life be a catalyst for her own self-doubt, and she did not appreciate it being used as a playing card by Giovanni. Did she think Elzo could love her like he had this nameless specter that came up again and again? No. In her heart she knew he couldn’t. Giovanni was right in that respect; Elzo had already made his choice - and like everything else, his will on the matter would never change. She smiled, was it terrible that it was one of the things she loved about him? How much he mourned her - how broken he was. It was a testament to how much he loved and she was glad he had experienced it. Even for a short while. ”What was her name?” She asked without thinking, a reflex of her thoughts.

Many people disappeared in Destiny City, Yvaine knew that more intimately than most seeing as the form she wore was her third identity. Elzo’s wife suddenly falling off the face of the Earth did not make her suspicious towards Elzo, however, Giovanni’s words had led her down a trail of thought that she had not explored before. Maybe she was a Senshi, maybe she had her Starseed stolen? An interesting theory, one that might explain Elzo’s guilt - maybe he had brought her into the war, maybe he failed her, he could not save her. Yvaine’s heart stopped; maybe she was still alive. Nausea hit her stomach around the same time Giovanni looked at her hand, making her pull it from the table to rest on her lap. Her heart was pounding, a cold fear in her stomach. Stop jumping to conclusions Yvaine, do you even know how absurd that sounds. How can she still be alive? She tried to comfort herself, to no avail.

She thought about Elzo’s reluctance to commit to her exclusively, she thought about how reluctant he was entering the relationship. It was true that he was the one that pulled her from the gutter; but Ofelia was the one who chose to sleep with Castor on a distant world, she was the one who admitted her feelings first, she was the one that pursued purification. All this time, it was her that was leading, her that was pushing for more - maybe, in the end, Elzo was waiting. Hoping. Praying. Going along for the ride. He was always yours. Her fingers curled. Maybe I am just a distraction, to get him by until you meet again - in this life or the next one. And her hand was a fist.

But it is okay, I will keep him safe, I will make him happy until then. That was the duty I swore to, the oath I will not break a second time. Until he finds his Princess, he will have his guard.

Grey eyes looked back up at him, resolve. Giovanni made it sound like only a goddess alive on Earth would be good enough to fill the void Elzo’s wife had left in his heart, that only a saint could heal him. Yvaine smirked again, knowing she was neither of those things. She shook her head, wondering if he thought this was the first time someone had tried to break her down? destroy her ego? manipulate her? She saw in him the judges at the music competitions, promising her greatness and recognition if she could sacrifice herself. She saw the social workers that tried to guilt her into taking on more responsibility than any child should take on. She saw the people who approached her on the street, urging her to come with them, offering her safety. She was too world weary to fall for it again.

He called her trusting, another thing he was wrong about. She had nothing to offer Elzo, beside her trust, the rarest gift she could ever give. She did not offer it freely and she did not trust the man sat across the table from her. “That is comforting, I have no stars to offer him - or you.” A subtle way of saying there would be no deal to be had here, she was willing to listen to him, but offer nothing in return. “To be blunt this sales pitch, as enthralling as it is, has become rather tedious. If you have any words of wisdom to offer, now would be the time to offer the hook.” She brought her hands back onto the table, watching as the server filled her glass once again. “My curiosity only extends to a point, especially when I am being so openly challenged.” She decided to address his words head on, she had told him he preferred people be direct, and he was still weaving a tale. Speaking words but avoiding the point, trying to make her fill in the blanks and come to her own conclusions.

No, she had done enough of that, she had been wrong too many times, misjudged a situation too many times. She believed Elzo was a father from the words of a child, and now she was asking herself why he had lied to his daughter. Her breath caught, and for the first time tonight, a look of concern cracked through her stoic expression. “Why would Elzo pose as the twins father?” She asked the question out loud. Which children did you come back for?

Giovanni snorted, "Does it matter? A corpse is a corpse, and she doesn't have the Xanis name so she won't be near anyone of note." He stopped, "That I know of at any rate. Given his reluctance on the matter, she could be very well alive and have changed her name out of shame, him claiming her dead as to not shame her further and have the matter publicly dropped. Death is not always physical, it can be other things. Tell me, is he as cold and dead with his heart as I sense he might be?" Giovanni downed the glass quickly, not bothering to worry over intoxication. He could hold his own against a strong wine.

Yvaine was loyal. Very loyal to his son, and while he could admire that, he felt it foolish of her. She was too trusting of Elzo, too much blind in her own heart.

He'd rather use it as a means to break Elzo from his notions of love further. To drive away his son's chance at love once again. Women were expendable, his son was not.

"Oh Yvaine, you offer me more than you could possibly know. You want him yes? You want to wear his wedding ring? You want the Xanis name? To feel his children grow inside you and have a family with him? Mother his children? Then here is your hook. " Giovanni smiled.

"Become pregnant and do not let him know until it is too late. He wants Yvaine. To prove he is my better, that he can be the father I was not. But he has no lover to offer him her body and future without recourse. He would claim his children if he knew they were his, he'd be loyal to their mother, for their sake. He would be all that I am not. He would become yours, so long as you could hold the fate of his children in your hands."

Ice blue eyes were dark and twisted as they filled with cruelty.

"As to why he would pose as the twin's father?" He sneered, their meals coming out.
"Because I am their father, and he would not see me have them, more, he will not let me have them because once I have them?" The dishes laid before them, the Italian waited for her to begin eating before he took a bite.

"Once I have my twins, I gain much more than a proper heir to my legacy."
