- ↳ Raiment: Ink Manipulation
- ↳ Ink manipulation is just that, the manipulation of ink. Elijah can sense the knowledge written in any ink, in any form whether it be in a scroll, a book, a scratch piece of paper or in someone’s skin. Given time, Elijah can absorb the knowledge written in ink (not the ink itself) and if desired, he can manipulate it to his liking. For example, if he doesn’t like the ending to a book, he can re-write it using his power. This technique is very useful when it comes to enemy battleplans or strategies.
While Elijah can walk into any room and sense the knowledge hidden within, the absorption is not instantaneous; it takes time to absorb knowledge and just like any other person he needs to shift through the information. While he can do this at a much faster pace than a normal person, he needs to be given time to concentrate on his task to absorb the information or manipulate it, if so desired.
Retaining the information comes easily to Elijah, as he is blessed with an Eidetic Memory, allowing him to store vast quantities of knowledge within himself. With his thirst for knowledge in general, his memory and his raiment help feed his addiction, considerably.
→ Stat Growth:
- ↳ Control:
How quickly Elijah can riffle through the knowledge gained from absorbing knowledge is dependent on his Control Stat.
1 – 1 hour to pinpoint the knowledge he seeks from a specific tome he may have absorbed or a book/scroll/inked item he may be looking for.
2 – 50 minutes to pinpoint the knowledge he seeks from a specific tome he may have absorbed or a book/scroll/inked item he may be looking for.
3 – 40 minutes to pinpoint the knowledge he seeks from a specific tome he may have absorbed or a book/scroll/inked item he may be looking for.

9 – 1 minute to pinpoint the knowledge he seeks from a specific tome he may have absorbed or a book/scroll/inked item he may be looking for.
↳ Speed:
The amount of time it takes Elijah to absorb and manipulate ink is dependent on his Speed Stat. If Elijah absorbs too much information too quickly, or at a constant pace without resting, he will suffer from fatigue, headaches ranging from mild to severe (migraines), as well as dehydration. Please note, Elijah can only absorb one item of information at a time, i.e: one book, one scroll, one letter, etc.
1 – 3 hours to absorb the knowledge within a large book – 2 hours of recovery time, or he will suffer adverse effects listed above.
1 hour to manipulate the contents of a large book with intense concentration.
2 – 2.5 hours to absorb the knowledge within a large book – 1.5 hours of recovery time, or he will suffer adverse effects listed above.
1 hour to manipulate the contents of a large book with light concentration.

↳ Range:
The range of the Range of which Elijah can sense ink and the knowledge within it is dependent on the his Range Stat.
1 – 5’ radius around the user
2 – 10’ radius around the user
3 – 20’ radius around the user
4 – 40’ radius around the user
5 – 80’ radius around the user

- → Body Physique: Athletic Build; not overly muscular, lithe physique. 5’11”, 150 lbs
→ Strengths:
- ↳ Highly Intelligent; Elijah has a vast wealth of knowledge stored within his mind and can be expected to know the answer to just about any question.
↳ Keen Observer; very little escapes his notice.
↳ Eidetic Memory; can recall in vivid detail everything he has ever read, every memory that he has ever had, etc.
→ Weaknesses:
- ↳ Will forego his needs to pursue knowledge; will often pass out from fatigue, sleep deprivation, dehydration whilst reading or studying.
↳ Easily distracted when it comes to books or something of interest.
↳ He can be bribed when it comes to knowledge or sweets. Ezra and Ven are masters at ‘Elijah Manipulation’.
→ Unique Features:
- Diviner mark on his chest as well as constantly changing tattoos covering his body (one can never predict what will appear on his skin or where).
→ Personality:
- Elijah is an avid reader and scholar of the world. His pursuit is knowledge; to know all that he can. Therefore, whoever grants him access to that knowledge will have access to all that he knows – which is a vast wealth of information. Elijah will often times become so consumed with his reading and studying that he will ignore his body’s basic needs. It is not uncommon to find him in states of declining health simply because he forgot to eat or wouldn’t allow himself to sleep. If there was ever an embodiment of that feeling ‘just one more chapter’, it would be Elijah.
Highly intelligent, Elijah is happy to share his wealth of knowledge with others when asked. However, if he suspects that the knowledge will be used to do harm, he will only tell half or partial truths. He cannot stand people that are close minded and finds that he enjoys opening people’s minds, if they let him try.
The owner of an addictive personality (obviously), Elijah has a weakness for sweet treats. It is not uncommon for him to be bribed with rare or out of print books as well as delicious candies or confectioneries.
To most people who've met Elijah, he is a book worm with a wealth of knowledge at his fingertips, to others he is a mind reader who knows all their secrets; both opinions, in many ways, are true.

- ↳ Unlike texts that can be traced back to their origins, Elijah does not know where he comes from and he likely never will. Seemingly abandoned as a child, Elijah grew up in an orphanage in the main city of Trendel. From a young age, Elijah showed an avid interest in books and learning and as such would often sneak into the Governess’s study to flip through her books and papers.
At the tender age of eight, he was adopted by an elderly Noble who needed an heir for his estate. While he had an extensive family, he had never fathered children of his own and wished to pass on his legacy to someone who would appreciate it, unlike his already thoroughly spoiled and corrupt relatives. Elijah was then thrust into a world that he knew nothing about. His father however, was eager to teach him all the things that Elijah had a thirst for; reading, writing, mathematics, science, art, and so on.
It was during a wonderfully wet spring day when he was twelve that Elijah first discovered his power for ink manipulation. His father had instructed him to read through a large text explaining the many philosophies of the great masters. While it would have normally taken the boy several days to read the entire text, he was able to absorb the knowledge in a matter of hours. His father, disbelieving that Elijah could absorb the knowledge within the book, the then quizzed his son on the contents of the material. To his astonishment, Elijah could answer every question. When questioned as to [how he’d been able to absorb the knowledge within the book, Elijah answered that he’d ‘sensed it within the ink’. After several days of testing Elijah’s ability, it was determined that he was a Diviner with a unique talent. It was only discovered later that Elijah could not only absorb the knowledge within texts by sensing the knowledge held in the ink, but that he could also manipulate the ink as well.
Elijah became the Academy's Head Librarian and Historian after the peace treaty was signed and the Academy's construction was completed on neutral ground nearly five years ago. Wanting faculty from both Kingdoms, Elijah was eager and all too happy to volunteer to be the Academy's first Head Librarian.
Recently, Elijah has moved in with his lover, Ezra, and is ecstatic with happiness. The two are practically inseparable and have talked about adding an addition onto Ezra’s house to help store Elijah’s vast book collection. In the meantime, the majority of his precious treasures are stored in his own home down the street.
