Maer grinned at Destiny and nodded. "That's for sure, though it feels like its been a long summer," She said turning to glance over at her parents who were talking to Casius who was just starting Hogwarts and had the other younger kids with them giving them a look at the train so they could see what it looked like. She glanced around and noticed Oliver in his wheelchair and waved to him. "Hey Oliver!" She called waving to the second year. she moved over to give him some space as he drew closer. "How was your summer?" She asked with a friendly smile.

Oscar rolled over with his little siter in is lap then heard someone say Oliver then come over to him. "Yes hello, It went well. Alright Lucy time to get off," he said "Oh do I have to?" She asked. "You know you can't come to school yet." he said to her and the little girl got up off his lap. "Lucy this is Margerte, She's also in Ravenclaw." He told his little sister. "Buy why she called you Oliver?" She asked though looking at Margeriet like wasn't vary smart. "Or is it like what your team does when they say fishhook?" she asked tilting her head.

Maer felt terrible when she realized she had called him by the wrong name. "Augh, I'm sorry Oscar. I don't know why I called you that. I'm glad your summer went well. Hello Lucy, nice to meet you," She said leaning down to smile at the little girl. "I just got messed up is all."

Oscar smiled and nodded, "It's alright, We all make mistakes, and Lu, It's Hookshot not Fishhook," he said "Oh," the little one said, "Nice to meet you." She said to her."How was yours and your brother?" he asked.

Maer was relieved that Oscar wasn't too annoyed with her. "Thanks." She couldn't help but grin at the exchange between Oscar and his younger sister. She was rather adorable. "Hey, can I give you something Lucy?" She asked and rummaged through her bag and pulled out a small bracelet of shiney purple beads. "this is much too small for me now, so would you like to have it?" She asked holding it out to her. She overheard her brother's exclamation to Destiny and made a face. "It was crazy actually." She said with a sigh. "The little ones got really sick, the last few weeks we couldn't go anywhere cause we had to help with entertaining them. Muggle measels are bad." She said making a face.

Lucy lit up "Really?" She asked then looked at her brother. "If she said it was okay I'm sure Mum and Dad won't mind." he said. He then looked at Maergreet. "Yes I have had a run in with measles once, one of my team mates got it. Luckly the rest of the team didn't get it. We're lucky to have 8 people on a team if three people had gotten sick the whole team would have bad we wouldn't have 5 to play."

Maer smiled at the little girl's question to her. She gently took the girl's hand and rolled the beaded bracelet onto it. "There, see? It fits perfectly. " she said smiling wider. She turned her gaze back to Oscar as he spoke. "oh you were lucky to have avoided it. Its not a fun thing to get. I'm just thankful i had it ages ago so there was no way we could catch it again. At least it wasn't a really bad case, but not getting to go anywhere for three weekd was annoying. So do you want to sit on the train together? I am sure there's a lot more we could talk about. I can give you a headsup on what to expect during your second year. " Maer suggested.

Oscar smiled as Lucy's face lit up, "Lu what do you say?" he reminded "Thank you" the little one said "Well it does help to have a Healer in the Family." he smirked then tried to glance around. "Not that my level makes it easy to find him. Dad must be geting my trunk on the train. And sure sounds like a plan. Cathing up would be nice." he said with a nod.

"You are very welcome Lu." Maer said with a bigger smile at the little girl. "It must be nice having a healer in the family. I'm beginning to think it would be smart for me or one of my brothers to become one. What with all the boys in our family being the rambunctious type." She said with a laugh. "What does he look like? I could try and look for him if you'd like." She offered Oscar. She couldn't help but smile when Liam introduced Destiny to their parents. She moved to grab her cat's carrier case and gave her parents and younger brothers hugs goodbye. "i'll write home!" She said cheerily and moved behind Oscar so he could go on first.

Maer glanced around and noticed a a man who did look like Oscar walking through the crowd and poked Oscar's shoulder. "I see him, he's on his way back over." She said and pointed in the direction she had seen the man. Maer figured she'd wait with Oscar until his father got over to him and his sister. "It was nice to meet you Lucy," she said with a smile. "If it's okay with your parents, I'll write you letters too. I bet you like getting letters." She said with a grin at the adorable little girl.

Oscar smiled to Lucy "Won't that be nice, it'd be like having a big sister?" he said To which Lucy got all excited and hugged Maergreat's Legs. "I think that's a yes?" Oscar said with a bit of a chuckle. Shortly after his dad came over to where they were, "Well I was exspecting Lucy to be hugging my son." he said with a smirk.

Maer grinned down at the little girl. "Hey that would be cool. I always wanted a little sister," She said running a hand down the little girl's hair. She looked up at the man and smiled. "Oh yeah, I think I just made her happy when I said I'd write her letters. Hello, I'm Maegrethe Linwood, I'm friends with Oscar." She said with a bright smile and offered the man her hand.

"Well it's nice to meet you young lady." he said as he shook her hand. "Blazing Bandit is in with the other familars. And your trunk is on, So all that's left is you," He said, "Thanks Dad."

Maer smiled back at the man. "It's nice to meet you too Mr. Masterman." She said and then let his hand go. She stepped back so that Oscar had more space. "Is that jarvey of yours still causing mischief?" She asked with a grin.

"When isn't he, is a better question." Oscar smirked as he turned his chair.

Maer laughed lightly and glanced down to check on her cat. Nigel was still sleeping soundly despite all the noise around him. SHe moved to follow after Oscar. "I bet having him makes your life exciting though."

"I don't know I need more excitment, Grant it I'm the worst flier in the school, but doesn't mean I don't have any game."

Maer found herself laughing and glanced around the train as the two of them maneuvered onto it and moved down the aisle. "Well you'll just need more practice. I could help you with that if you'd like."

"I trust a horse more then a broom. I'd have to make it so I wouldn't just dangle,." He said as he rolled along the coridores. His chair not seeming to have any problem with the narrow space

Maer considered Oscar's words. "Well..you'd probably need some sort of stirrups then to put your legs in so they don't dangle. I'm sure we could talk to a teacher and see about making something that would help you."

Oscar cuckled "Well my back and arms are stong enough but I still think that I'd just fall to the side of the broom without the leg streagth needed." he said shaking his head. "I'm fine without flying. Other then to play quittige What is a flying broom good for?" he asked

Maer sighed. "Yeah that wouldn't be helpful. We should see if there's a flying carpet in the room of requirement. That would be fun to fly on." She considered his question. "Going fast is always fun, my brothers and I sometimes race brooms when we can."

Oscar chuckled, "Wheels are faster then feet some times, Well as long as it's not getting stuck on something, and my sports chair is diffrnet from this one..." he said "Though grant it I guess flying is faster the rolling,"

"Oh I can believe that," Maer said with a grin. "Especially your sports wheelchair I imagine." She glanced in the compartments being tall enough to see inside as they continued to the third car of the train. "This one looks empty," She said moving to open the door. "Yep, " She moved inside and held the door open for him. "I'm sure we'll end up with someone joining us later. there are only so many private compartments and even more new kids this year." She said moving to close the door once he was inside. Then she moved set her cat's carrier under one of the bench seats

Oscar rolled into the compartment, "Well there's a race chair which is diffrent from a baketball chair, it's like how you have diffrent shoes for diffrent things." He manovered himself over onto the bench and then took the bag with his school uniform off the back before folding his chiar to make a bit more room in the compartment.

"that's cool. I figured there were different types, not that I've seen other wheelchairs other than yours." She said pulling on the end of her hair gently. Maer sat down crossing her legs at the ankles and smoothed out her purple skirt over her legs. "So, being a second year, you don't have much change of schedule, though classes are a bit harder. If you ever need help with any of them, I'd be happy to help you with studying." She offered. "Oh mum packed a whole tin of fresh baked cookies, I'll share some later with you."

Oscar nodded "I would exspect it would be harder, but remeber my legs don't work not my head, but thanks. If I need help, and even us big brain Ravenclaws do sometimes, I'll hit you up on that." he nodded. "And that sounds nice thanks." he smiled.

Maer grinned at Oscar's reply. "Oh I know that. I didn't mean to make it sound like you weren't smart. I just remember second year having harder stuff, if I hadn't started a study group with friends I probably would have done much worse. If you need my help you do that. " she replied. "sure. I like sharing. So, this year I get to do extra classes. That'll be fun. I picked divination and care of magical creatures and muggle arts. I just hope I can manage three extra classes. "

Oscar nodded, "Yes I guess you do have a point. Divination? I don't know is it really all that great to know what would happen before it happened? Not to mention if you learn about this let's say Quttigch Match results, and then played, It's possable that the results won't be the same. If in your prediction your team wins, you're lible to play eaiser then you normally would, which could result in your team actully lossing." he said not knowing if it was the best subject. He found the idea of looking to the future was the best to look to things. "Though if I did I'd want to know if I would pass on worthless legs." he shook his head as he moved his legs to "look" better.

Maer nodded at Oscar. "Well I am mainly just curious about it. I know predicting the future is rather iffy and never very reliable. If I don't do well I can always drop it later. "

Oscar nodded, "Yes I guess that is true, you can drop it, if you find you aren't doing all that well with it." he agreed. "You have me there." He looked out to those on the platform, "Thanks by the way. For giving that Braslet to Lucy." he added as he found his little sister and his father and waved at them with the hand closer to the window.

"Not that I would though. " she admitted. "I am very stubborn and I'd try to stick it out as long as I could " Maer moved to the window and spotted the little girl and waved to her. "Oh no need to thank me. She's adorable and super sweet. I have always wanted a little sister, i just always end up with brothers for some reason. " She sighed. "Do you think your parents would find it weird if I write her? Maybe send her girly stuff?" she asked turning to look at him.

Oscar shook his head, "No I don't think they'll mind. Well you and Lucy have something in common, being the only girls of a family. So she doesn't get a whole lot of girlly things." he admitted with a grin. "Not that I haven't tried to get her 'girly' things before, oddly enough I'm glad she can walk and I think she's upset that she doesn't get to sit were ever she goes." he smiled a little.

"Oh good. That's a relief. Yeah we kind of do. Well I could help you find things she might like if you want. " Maer offered. She made a thoughtful sound as she considered Oscar's words. "It could be that she admires you and wants to be like you. She is still young. I can write and tell her all the fun things I do, maybe that will make her want to move around on her own. "

Oscar nodded, "Yeah she might." he agrred giving Maergret a smile. So besides the new classes have any plans for things?" he asked.

Maergrethe amiled at Oscar. "Sometimes it just takes someone new for a kid to focus on for them to change their mind. " She had to think over his question and glanced down when she heard scratching."Oh do you mind if I let Nigel out of his cage? " she asked. "other than classes I think I would like to make more friends with kids in different houses. I need to expand myself out more. " she said. "So that's my goal. "

Oscar chuckled a little, "Yeah maybe that will help." he smiled "Though I think my being at school and away from home is helping too." he added. He thought over her words "Yeah you can let him out. I guess it's harder to do when you're focused on classes." He said with a nod, "That's a good goal for the year though. Who knows maybe you'll do so before Christmas."

Maer smiled at Oscar and nodded, her wavy hair bouncing as she moved her head. "She probably just needs more friends her own age. Is she smarter than her age group? Sometimes that will make kids reluctant to spend time doing normal childish games. " she said thoughtfully as she moved to let her chocolate colored cat out of his cage and then sat back down. The cat moved to sniff at Oscar's foot before jumping up next to him and meowing rather loudly in varying lengths. Maer giggled. "He's talking to you." she nodded at Oscar's words. "I hope so. So far I really only have.. " she paused to count off the friends she had. "two really good friends and three somewhat friends at the moment. Though I do hope despite our year and age difference you'd consider me a friend too. "

Oscar smiled and scratched the cat behind the ear. "I can see that," he smiled and looked university. "I don't really know, She does start kindergarten this year so she should have some friends by the winter holiday. As will you." he smirked "And of course I consider you a friend."

Maergrethe smiled at Oscar's words. "I think he likes you." She added as the cat began to purr super loudly at Oscar scratching behind his ear. Maergrethe listened leaning forwards on her hands. "That might be helpful. I bet she will. Thanks, that means a lot to me." She said with a big smile on her face. She heard the trolley stop outside their compartment and hopped up. "Oh do you want anything?" SHe asked as she dug a few coins out of her bag.

Oscar smiled "cats aren't as crazy as javorys, I think Blazing Bandit like my sister more than me, and she keeps putting him in my trunk." he admitted. He looked over at the trolley, "Hey could always use more frog cards" her chuckled. "I'll let you buy this round of treats, I'll get next round." he smirked.

Maergrethe nodded at Oscar. "Oh I know, jarveys are kind of different and hard to get along with or so I've heard." She told him. She couldn't help but giggle at his telling her about his sister putting his familiar in his trunk. "Maybe he just likes the trunk?" She asked with an amused smile. "All right, frogs it is," She agreed and opened the door to buy some stuff off the trolley. She came back a few minutes later and handed him three chocolate frogs and sat down with her pumpkin pastie and fizzy soda and took a long sip. "I got an extra straw if you want some," She told him with a grin.

Oscar thought over her comment, she made a good point. When she came back with the frogs he thanked her. He hadn't even think of anything to drink and blushed a bit at her saying she got an extra straw. "Thanks" he mamanaged not knowing how to reply. It wasn't any different then sharing with Lucy, Margaret probably shared with her brothers to. Once this thought went though his mind he calmed some.

Maergrethe nodded at Oscar's thanks and took a bite out of her pastry and chewed on it. She noticed his cheeks coloring at her offer of sharing her drink and grinned at him. "I'm sorry, I gather you are more used to sharing with your little sister than with some older. " She commented. "I am used to my brothers begging to share whatever I get." she said with a shrug of her shoulders. "With so many younger brothers I am rather used to them just grabbing a glass not caring whose it is and drinking out of it. At least you won't backwash. " she said rolling her eyes.

Oscar nodded "When that thought came to me it relaxed me a bit. So what number are you in your mass of siblings? " he asked.

Maer smiled back at his words. "Well that's good. I am glad it reassured you. Well since I was the first born of the triad, I am number five of eleven. It's a very chaotic household at times, but It's fun at least." She said with a grin.

Oscar looked and nodded, "I think my mum would hate having two team worth of boys running around her house day round." he chuckled. "Being in the middle must be interesting, and being the only girl too. Must be hard to get some attention thou." he said.

Maergrethe giggled at his words. "Oh there are times my mum gets annoyed with it as well. She foists the younger kids off on us older ones and has a day off. I imagine she's in her room napping most of the day when she does that, not that I blame her." She added with a grin. "It is kind of interesting, and kind of tiresome. Oh I get plenty of attention, when Mum's on one of her vacation days, the little ones are climbing all over me wanting it. They're cute and all, but I don't think I'll want to be a mother for a long time."

Oscar nodded "Yeah, I don't blame her ether, mum always seems to need a rest after the rest of the team leaves, and we're all in chairs."

Maergrethe had a mouthful of pastry when Oscar replied, she covered her mouth to hold back the giggle that threatened to escape at hte thought of a bunch of boys making wheel chair markes all over his mother's house. "She probably complains about all the marks on her floor," she told him. "I think parents just don't have as much energy as kids do. Or we tend to sap their energy out."

Oscar chuckled as he opened one of the frog boxes, "Yeah we might." he said managing to grab the chocolate by the leg before it had hopped away. "I guess it also depends on how much exercise they get. At least our parents have magic to make things easier."

Maegrethe nodded at Oscar and finished off her pastry and took a sip of her fizzy drink. She giggled when his chocolate frog nearly got away from him. "Be careful, those things can get away," She nodded at his words. "More than likely," She agreed with a grin. "Magic does come in handy for most things."

Oscar chuckled "Yeah I've had a few get away from me." he agreed, taking a bite of it. "Magic does but it's a good challenge to not use it sometimes."

Maergrethe smiled and glanced out the window of the train to see how far they were. "I think we're actually getting close to the castle! I can't wait!" She said bouncing on her seat a bit. She nodded at him. "It is a good way to challenge yourself not to use magic. I am just glad that we're allowed to use it at home sometimes. If we weren't I'd probably have a much more boring summer." She added.

Oscar chuckled a bit, "Yeah but only really to do homework." he agreed. "I don't know if it would have been more boring, then again the don't really sound all that fun... without magic to heal it that is." he admitted.

User Image Maergrethe nodded at him. "True, though to us homework isn't a bad thing. Most other kids would hate doing homework." She said giggling. She leaned back on her seat and glanced out the window. "So what's the first thing you want to do when you get back to Hogwarts?" She asked.
PostPosted: Sat Oct 07, 2017 9:50 am

Oscar chuckled a little at that, "Yeah that is true, the brain trust doesn't mind homework or quizzes." then she asked the question of what he wanted to do.

Oscar chuckled, a bit "Well because of the long train ride eat. However after the start of term feast, and a good night's rest. hmmmm that is a good question, I guess I didn't really make to many friends last year though I was trying to just blend it and not be seen as different from any of the other students. Though I guess each class did get a chair-less desk because of me." chuckled a little. "I guess I should make some friends this year too."

Maergrethe smiled back at him. "Their loss," She said playing with her hair for a moment.

"Of course, food is a must," She agreed, giggling a bit. "I mean other than the common sense answers." She teased slightly. "Oh, you didn't? Blending in had to have been kind of hard though," She said with a sigh. She knew she had heard a lot of gossip about him in the halls. It seemed like everyone had been a bit taken aback by a wheelchair in the school. She didn't really want to bring that to his attention though. He'd probably be more annoyed than anything.

"Well if you want to hang out more this year, I'd be up for that." She told him.

"So I've been thinking of getting a new hairstyle and maybe even a new color. I'm going to work on that and get hopefully it won't turn out terrible. I'm thinking purple hair would be cute."

She wasn't sure what Oscar might say to the subject being changed to a more girly topic. If he didn't he could always change it to something else. She wouldn't really mind all that much.

Oscar nodded, with a bit of a laugh "Indeed it is." he agreed. "Trust me I know about the gossip at the beginning of last year. You always know when people are talking about you behind your back, when they suddenly go quite when you enter the room." he told her. "I think each first will be doing the same but now that the rest are use to it, well a bit more use to it, it'll be easier, then last year."

Oscar nodded "Sure, everyone could use more friends right?" he asked rhetorically. He knew some people where loners and felt bad for them, but he did like to meet people.

"I still haven't given you your own name yet have I? I think Sunshine, might work because you're smiling all the time. And it would go well with Lucy who's my little Shining Star. You two did adopt each other as sisters at the station."He thought aloud.

When she changed the topic to hair color, it took him aback a moment. "Purple? Well I think you might be able to pull of an all purple look." he admitted "You plaining keeping it curly or going strait?" he asked. He didn't seem to care about it being a girly topic, he figured it was good practice for when Lucy got older. If Lucy confided in him that is.
