The Library

User Image

The Library is a vast room filled with all sorts of tomes and knowledge.
It is said that somewhere within the library there is an entranceway to a secret room of sorts...though no one has ever
found such a room before. But simply being blind to something does not mean that it does not exist...

Archer entered, glancing around slightly, and proceeded to lock all the windows. There was only one door out of here, so he did not lock the othrs connected to the other romms. "What a beautiful place." He said, before exiting.

Bristi finally stopped running. She finally stopped and breathed.
It wasn't right..murder never was...but this one was particularily unjust.
Ru'ni hadn't deserved it, he was a fine leader, no matter what Soviet seemed to think. Yes, she had heard bits and pieces of Sovi's declaration to Crow....and he was wrong.
Bristi began to laugh. Though it was quiet, the edge was hysterical, as though she was trying to combat all the good she remembered with the guild leader's death. She'd spent forever trying to laugh at the things that hurt. To shrug it off. But it didn't work, not for this.

She reached out and ran her fingers along the spines of favorite books..the flow of tears beginning to stop. Grabbing one particluar favorite, she took it over to the southwest corner of the room and sat on the floor. Laying it beside her on the floor, she pulled the notebook and pencil from her pocket where she'd stuffed it earlier and began to write.
Suspects, motives...anything she could relating to the incident.
The answer was in her mind somewhere, it was in everyone's. She just needed to work at it until the key to the lock for the puzzle was found. She would do this for Ru'ni...it was the least she could do.

Bristi was so close...she was almost sure she knew who had killed Ru'ni. She kept stumbling though, on her path for truth...and the delay could cost another person their life. From what she'd figured...whoever the killer was, he was psychotic. Of course....considering the guild members. That was practically a requirement for joining.
She sighed, not funny, and wrote a few more things down in her notebook.

Prince Lestat

As Lestat flew away from the Green-house, and towards the upper window of the Library. He changed into a fine cloud of mist, and squeezed easily in between the window and its frame. He then reformed himself, and adjusted his fine suit alittle. The Library seemed deathly quite, except for the soft sound of pages in a book being turned. Lestat peered over the edge of the upper floor balcony, and saw Bristi writing something down in a notebook. "Konichiwa Bristi." Lestat said then jumped over the railing of the balcony, and floated down gracefully. "I take it you too have heard about the murder?"

Bristi's head jerked up at the sound of a voice. She'd been busy writing, and had let time slip away with her.
"Lestat!"She hadn't time to worry about how he'd managed to get into the Library without her noticing.
"No way I couldn't have...I was one of the first there, along with Crow." Of course...if she were truly objective, she wouldn't have run like she did. Her voice expressed that, dull and lifeless as it was. She closed her eyes for a moment and took a deep breath.
"I have something I need to tell Crow, want to go back with me?"
Now that she was actually starting to think again, she realized that it was probably a bad idea for anyone to be alone.

"I would love to accompany you my dear." Lestat said as he bowed curtiously like any gentleman should. "Last I saw of her she was in the Green-house, trying to wake up some girl who fell asleep there. And I had nothing to do with that. I may be a vampire, but I like to meet my prey before I put them to sleep." Said Lestat with a playfull smile. "After you."

Bristi managed a smile, though she was still very upset concerning the guld leader's death. Lestat was quite the joker...well, sort of. She nodded as she stood and dusted her hands off. That's where they would go then.
"How very...charming of you." Of course. It made perfect sense that the lurker was a vampire. How else did he blend back into the shadows so well.
She saw his smile though...he was only joking...right?
Bristi did glance over her shoudler though as she headed for the door.

"Close it please, would you?" Bristi pointed at the door as she stepped into the hallway.

Lestat followed Bristi into the hallway, "but of course." Lestat made a hand gesture at the door, as if signaling it to come to him. And upon doing so the door swung itself shut. Lestat smiled at Bristi, awaiting for her approval. "Now shall we be off then? And don't worry I'm not going to drink your blood. Or anyone elses who belongs to the guild, unless I'm in a dire situation in which if I don't feed anytime soon then I'll die. I might consider it, but what are the oods of me being in a "life or death" situation anytime soon. Lestat said that last part with a small chuckle. "I'm sorry I am wasting time, let us continue" Lestat said apologeticly.

Bristi bit back a smile as Lestat "closed" the door.
"Cute party trick...." His explanatory nature made her inwardly laugh, but at his chuckle, the truth behind his statement became clear.
She paused a moment before turning to the right, towards the greenhouse door.

"Life or death may be sooner than you think, friend." Her nature was returned to the seriousness she had felt earlier, and the sense that her friend and leader's murderer must be brought to justice. She walked down the hall, nearly running into Fallen, and Crow who were coming out of the greenhouse.

The clouded stail air in the lounge had become to much for him as he crossed the hall stepping into the dimly lit library. He gazed upon the many book spines as he trod past a bookcase, gazing upon them curiously as if he were reading them. But their tittles seemed illiterate to him, his mind elsewhere in deep thought and worry. Fig's friends were merely across the hall, and he seemed somewhat risky having left the safety of the room. Randomly he withdrew a boo from the shelf. He hadnt found the tittle at all interesting but he seemed somehow compelled to flip through its pages. Still in thought he shook his head, as he snapped shut the book suddenly, glaring at it. His mind seemed to have a conflict of interests with itself. His complection would have become paler than only moments before. Hearing voices his piercing gaze would dart towards the hall the hall where they seemed to echo from. He tossed the book gently onto the center table and slowly exited the room, leaving in the direction opposite of the voices.

Refusing to give up, Fallen crawled for the pannel and dug her fingers into the small crack that had opened up before the door was jammed. She placed her feet firmly against the wall and set her fingers as tightly as she could against the pannel door. With a great heave she pushed against the wall and pulled against the door, lifting her body off the floor.
Her tries were in vain, because obviously the object on the other side was heavier than she was.
Ru'ni would know what to do.., she thought bitterly, cursing herself for her impotence.
In silent anger she leaned against the panel and rested her head against the smooth wood.

Instead of responding, Crow had just gone...following Fallen. Sighing, Bristi had trailed after her, still curious as to know what the "Side Room" was. She couldn't remember if it were on any of the floorplans she had seen. Of course...it probably wasn't something she'd needed to know at the time.
Bristi didn't arrive until a moment after Crow, but she'd heard her all the way from the door.

"Just look at her, Crow," Bristi said, entering and walking over to where Fallen sat, against the wall panel. "There's no need to yell."
Bristi turned her attention from Crow to Fallen.
"So what's up, what's got you scrambling down stairs and in here?"
From Fallen's face Bristi could tell that whatever it was, wasn't good. Bristi just hoped it wasn't what she herself was thinking.

"The pannel is jammed Crow.. by something heavier than me.. I felt something move behind it. You have to help me move it.. do you have a crowbar anywhere?" Her sentences became more urgent as she finished putting her jumbled thoughts into words. In a rush she leapt to her feet and ran to the place Crow and Bristi now stood.
"Where is Astal? Maybe he will know of another way in." Crow's harsh entrance had had no effect on the caretaker, yet Fallen knew that she shouldn't have rushed away like she did.
