For Kim a year had passed, for Terry it would have only been three days. No matter how you looked at it though, things had changed. Nothing really bad. Kim had merely been faced with some truths that had to be dealt with. She had to keep her hands off things, to think things through and to overall be a better person. Still there was one person she could go to when she needed to just relax and let her natural instincts misbehave.

Kim took a deep breath, opened the door to her room and bounced in looking for Terry. She peeped around and then fell to her knees a moment. "Watashi no Koibito ka?" She blurted out, not even looking to see if Terry was even there. It would be a weird moment if he wasn't because she was totally not sure if she could say that again. She had waited a year in her own mind to finally do so.

The silence. It was so intense. Kim gulped and wondered what was going on. Had he realized while she was gone that he didn't actually want to be with her? Her stomach plummeted a bit and she got back to her feet not sure what to do. Should she play it off like a joke? No she couldn't do that, though part of her wanted to do that. Instead she just walked over to the bed and sat down carefully. "Um, too abrupt? I guess I should have said that.. I am back.." She flushed a little and lowered her lashes. "It was an interesting... island trip."

She kicked her boots off and crossed her feet on the bed, a little sand still clinging to her.

Kim looked at Terry and shook her head a bit. "not really a fun trip, we had been fighting a giant squid and somehow all of us there had been washed out to sea. We ended up on an island.. it was three days, but.. for me it was a year of time." She sank a bit lower, her eyes closed. "A whole year, and I couldn't see you and I was sure I would never get home and..." She looked up, eyes sparkling with a few tears.

"While I was there, I.. things got bad. I watched everyone vanish, I had to face just how few people can even tollerate me, and... I .. I really really wanted to see you."

It was hard to say this but she had to, she needed to tell him.

"T-Terry I don't want to face that ever again. I.. I really don't. I can't believe how badly I missed you." She swallowed hard and got up, moving to him and wrapping her arms around him. "W-Watashi no koibito ka?" She hoped he would not push her away but for him it was only three days, so.. could he understand?

The words, as they sunk in soothed her rattled nerves and she gripped a bit tighter, not in a death grip luckilly but in the kind of clinging to branch while the water was sweeping you away kind of way. She sniffled a bit against his chest and nuzzled there for a while, taking in the feeling of being safe after the hell she had been in. "T-Terry... I love you..."

They hadn't said the words out like that but she needed him to hear and understand. In her mind Chinthliss made a kind of snorting sound, mumbling about never getting rid of him now. She knew he meant that he was stuck with having to deal with Terry now. She didn't care. Instead she slid down to the bed and opened her arms to hug him, to just snuggle for a while.

"I was so scared I would never see you again. Everyone started to vanish, the last two months I was completely alone and... well I guess a good thing is I know how to carve wood and build shelters now. Still I pray you never have to face anything like that." She closed her arms and snuggled more. "It just taught me how much I value you, how much you really mean. You let me be who I am, even if I drive you insane."

Chinthliss muttered again.. "Going to have to meet his.. Agata or whatever.. make a note of it Kim..."

She just kind of told him to shut up, she only wanted to think of Terry at the moment. His petting her made her feel nice. Who would have thought that being petted felt soothing to humans too?

Kim's eyes went huge and she gasped covering her mouth. "Oh no you found me out, I am really a tentacle monster in disguise." She then rolled her eyes and jumped to her feet, climbing onto Terry's back hugging him tight, leaning over his shoulder. "Sheesh, Terry so little faith."

The young woman grinned and kept hugging Terry from behind before sighing against him. "So, are we a couple Terry? Can I update my status online?" She was still giggling softly her eyes closed. "Hey even tentacle monsters need love."

Kim gaped at the back of Terry's head and then burst out laughing. The sound ringing rather lightly in the room as she burrowed her head against Terry's shoulder. "Aww, shucks no pumping in the tentacle slimes.... you are so cruel." She wiped teary eyes and then kissed the side of Terry's neck. "You are too cute really, no worries I would not want to ruin you forever. Plus, sadly you are stuck with a normal hunter girl.." She was nearly purring in happiness as she snuggled against him. "As long as you don't deny it outright I don't mind. I would hate to find out you are ashamed of me."

The sun hunter was far too happy to move, she just closed her eyes and sighed. "We need a bigger room, and a bigger bed..." Her arms laced a little tighter around Terry. "Mm, not that I mind being cuddled against you, but on hot days we may want a bit of room."

Kim laughed and nodded as she leaned on Terry's back. "Yeah we need to get stronger and get more pay, and as you said the money will come. So will some perks. I hear they are making some elite squads too."

The sun hunter grinned a little and wriggled to lean over Terry's shoulder kissing his cheek. "You need to take your exam. I will back you up if you need to know anything." She had taken hers and lived.

"Be careful though sometimes they trick you in those things, or so I heard. Mine was straight forward though a bit creepy. It was when I was gone for a few days last month." She sighed and shook her head, "I did find a new trainee there, but he will be in stasis I guess.."

That was weird, to think you know someone but they they kind of poof away. Oh well, things happen. "MM, I could live like this though, if you don't mind a burr stuck to you."

Kim smiled at his blush and nibbled Terry's ear a bit as she thought. "Yeah I am fine with this, all of this. It isn't like I don't have a bonded weapon too.." She kept herself draped and nibbled more. "It isn't like Chinthliss isn't with us too..." She gestured at the belt laying beside her on the bed.

"Too soon for you? Has it been less than a year?" She shrugged not minding if it had been, it wasn't like she hadn't been there for a while too. "Then we shall work together.."

Kim suddenly you seem like a cat in heat.. Chinthliss' voice sounded like he was rolling his eyes.

Kim supposed she did sound like that and she mentally shrugged. Deal with it boss, I have been stalking my prey for a while and it doesn't mind being captured. She wondered how long before he pushed her off though.
