Since it had been so hat lately considering the time of year, Alphubel had been less willing to go out for patrol. Sure, he didn't get overheated in his uniform but with school being out and having no summer classes except for a couple of tutoring sessions, he had mostly wanted to relax. When he had powered up before, he used it as a a way to destress. And now that he wasn't stressed, except when it came to his brother, what was the point? And there didn't seem to have been any big attacks recently, and so he had spent his time studying a bit, though not as hard as was expected during the regular school year, and taking some self-defense classes. It was easier to go to them during the summer time at least. When it was cold it was harder for him to get out of bed let alone outside. It was currently night time, and luckily he wasn't bothered by it since it was so nice out. Even the mosquitos seemed to have taken a break. However, he was in a place that he had been in before... one where he had been attacked... curiosity had gotten the better of him and he had wondered sometimes if that agent still hung around here. He... still wasn't too sure about his fighting, but felt a bit better now that he had his magic. Though he should have asked someone else to come with him in case he ran into that woman. But when he got closer, he felt a chill go down his spine and he stopped, frozen in fear for a bit. He knew that aura, and he knew it was from her. I really shouldn't have come here. He thought to himself as he tried to decide what the best option was. Stay and fight? Run away again? He was panicking a bit too much in his head to move at the moment.

Marcasite had a lot of restlessness underneath her skin that pushed her to patrol more and more frequently. She was a captain who was always on top of her quotas and she spent a fair amount of time working the techniques that Porsha would show her along with the weapon fan courses she'd gotten the company to pay for.
She'd even taken up light fencing to accompany her single recruit as she learned to handle her weapon.
It still wasn't enough to distract her from the fact that she rarely saw her boyfriend outside of the office and that she felt neglected, even as she sought company in other beds with other people.
Some days, like tonight, she was itching for a fight. Desperate for the adrenaline rush that blanked out her thoughts.
It helped, when she found that someone was creeping closer. At first it was a dull sensation that grew until it overlapped her own. Marce thought about seeking it out herself, but instead, she let them come to her and when she thought she knew someone was behind her she turned.
"Well, well. Couldn't get enough of me hm?"

It was her. One of the negaverse agents that Alphubel really did not want to meet. Well, considering all that he had met so far, that would be every one of them, but she had gotten under his skin the last time they had met. He knew at that point that he didn't have the strength needed or the training to actually be competent in a fight. Now though... was he ready? He had the power, but was he willing to stay and fight? Could he fight her? He clenched his jaw, almost making his teeth grind together. For the first time, he felt like he should stay. He wasn't sure how this would turn out, it might end with him running away again, but it was almost like he wanted to see how much he had improved. "I guess not." He replied, trying to keep a neutral tone. "I suppose you wouldn't mind doing a round 2 would you?" It was silly, he knew that agents were out there to kill knights and White Moon senshi, so why was he asking for it? Sure, he wouldn't kill her, even if he did somehow manage to beat her, but he felt like he needed to prove himself somehow. He supposed that his survival instinct didn't work too well. After all, he had stayed after the bat attack last year, didn't he?

Blue eyes took the squire in, a slow dragging gaze as she took in the changes to his uniform. He didn't look any more confident, but it was impossible to deny that he felt stronger.
It didn't take much for her to call her fans to her hands, opening one and faux fanning herself with it.
"It's okay," she cooed, teeth flashing when she grinned shiny and white. "I can always make time for a fan." The metal one in her hand shifted, mustaches pointed out at him when she cocked her head.
"Sure cutie, come at me." She agreed, stepping forward and chucking a fan at him. If it didn't hit, it at least gave her enough of a distraction to get into his space without teleporting.

Well, it seemed that the captain was up for a battle, though Alphubel had been hoping a tiny bit that she hadn't been. But the fan-chucking clearly indicated that wasn't the case, and he batted it away with his arm and he was cut up a bit in the process. Those mustaches were sharp! He winced, however he knew that he had to do better than last time, which was trying to throw a punch and then pretty much running away. He looked at her, and wondered what she had been planning, but braced himself for whatever she was going to throw against him, and instead moved toward the side and then, not really using it for it's intended purpose, tried to use his lantern as a bit of a mace, swinging it at the captain.

There was something satisfying to know that one of her fans connected with the squire as she closed the distance between them. It seemed like he had at least learned something since the last tussle. She had mixed feelings about this realization but didn't let it bother her.
There were other things to focus on, like how he was side-stepping away from her and trying to smack her with the lantern.
Um. Rude.
Her arm lifted to try and block, the weapon smacking against her shoulder and earning a hiss. Blue eyes darkened and she lifted a leg, choosing to kick out at him.

The kick was a direct hit to his abdomen, and Alphubel 'oofed' in pain as it connected. Seriously, boots hurt. He quickly grabbed the leg though, and pulled it forward, trying to take the captain off balance. At least he was doing a bit better than last time. He got a bit of a hit in and seemed to be holding up so far. Last time he just got his butt kicked and he had to run away in shame. Not fun. He made sure to keep an eye out on the rest of her body though. If she wanted to swing another of her fans at him, he would at least try to dodge it, though they were incredibly sharp and he had already been cut up a bit. This is NOT the worst that you have been in Alph. Remember what you've seen, why you're doing this. He thought, making sure he wouldn't be the pathetic little page that he was last time.

The captain hissed as her leg was dragged forward, the other hopping to keep herself upright enough. She tried to shift on her leg, attempting to jerk back enough that he'd let go or get forced to stumble closer to her where she could lash out with her fan.
If she were more of a practiced, tactile fighter like Xenotime maybe she would have been able to pull off a cool trick like Black Widow, but she wasn't. Instead she had to work instinctively and hope it worked out for the best.
And maybe she wouldn't end up on her a** but if he let go suddenly...

Unfortunately, because of the way she shifted, Alphubel had to let her leg go, but he did try to push it a bit back her way, to see if he could throw her off her balance a bit more. At least the fight was better this time. He wasn't just dodging at least! But it still meant he had a lot more to learn and a lot more practice that he needed to do. It was too bad that he couldn't give up his civilian life for this. Or at least if he could focus on being a knight it would be better, but one did have to eat after all. When he had let go he backed away from her, just in case she managed to recover quickly enough to use one of her fans against him. Nuxaz Sorry for taking so long to reply! We can end this in the next few posts if you want!

He let go, because it made sense, because she saw it coming, because it was going to make her drop-- it didn't ******** matter because she hit the ground hard enough to knock the wind out of her and she hissed between her teeth when she rolled over, nursing her wounded pride and trying to catch her breath.
Normally she wasn't one to back down but she was a ball of frustration that wasn't getting her anywhere and it wasn't worth making stupid mistakes and ending up with something worse than a bruise ego.
"You're lucky I'm feeling generous," she snapped, arm wrapped around her stomach as her nostrils flared from every panting breath she took.
Without another word, she teleported away.
She was gone and Alphubel would find himself alone.

Luckily what he had done had worked. What he hadn't expected was the hasty retreat. Perhaps the Captain was as up to a fight tonight as last time. It was a good thing though, since he had apparently gotten her out of the area for now, and felt a bit more confident about actually being able to defeat his opponent. That didn't make any of the rest of this easier, but at least he could go to bed without feeling like a loser tonight. Too bad he didn't have teleportation skills like she did. He slightly envied her for being able to just teleport away. He sighed as he powered down, ready to take the long walk back to his dorm rooms. Nuxaz End from me too and thanks so much!
