It was a bright morning and Melvin was out to see if he could get another fish for the group. Stretching out, he wandered the beach until he spotted two other hunters on the beach. Last night still lingered overhead but work was work and he could only hooe he could get people to go along.
"Hey there." He said, approaching with a wave. "Could you help me with something.

At some point, Zane had stripped off most of his outer clothing having grown tired of wet fabric clinging to him and now resided in his boxers and scarf. He had resorted to sitting on the beach beneath a tree as he watched the water lap at the shore when another hunter approached him. Green eyes blinked and he reached to push his glasses up his nose.
"Depends on what you need help with." It wasn't that he was unwilling, but help sounded like effort

Seeing that the hunter coat she had on would only get in the way of things, Alicia had ditched it for now, leaving her wandering around the island in a purple tube top and skin tight maroon pants. It wasn't exactly her idea of beach wear but it wasn't like she could use Ardwyad to cut the excess fabric off the pants she had on her and re-fashion it into a pair of shorts which wouldn't then cling to her skin whenever it got wet for one reason or another.
Watching the other hunter approach with a wave, she stood her ground with a nod and smiled. "Sure can do sweetie. What do you need help with?"

"Well I don't have a net and wanted to get another fish. Wondered if any of you would be inclined to help and maybe we can all get some breakfast out of it. Sound good?"
"I'm kinda sick of coconuts." He admitted. "If you guys wanna try for more I can always help too."

Zane looked contemplative, but ultimately made his decision when his stomach rumbled. Picking himself up off the sand, he dusted his butt off and nodded.
"Alright, I'm in."

The choice was clear to Alicia when faced with the limited food and water options that were available to them on the island. While one didn't have to spend a lot of effort chasing after coconuts like the fish that swam in the ocean, there was only so much satisfaction one could get from drinking the coconut juice (whatever was left of it after prying open the husk that is) and consuming its flesh compared to the flesh of freshly roasted fish like the one she had last night. Yum.
"Absolutely. Count me in too."

FISHING MECHANICS
- Lots of fish around them. If your character has a runic trap gun or weighted chains, they can now try to catch these fast moving, elusive fish. Roll 1d6, to cast your...thing. Then, follow the spoiler mechanics to reel it in!
- If they don't have those, they can also try catching with their weapon/bare hands. Double the HP required to reel the fish in.
- You can fish ONCE PER CHARACTER
1. You catch a WTF IS THIS SHAPE! It... ITS HUGE. You must hold the line, as another player does 25 damage to damage it into submission. - Feeds 3 times/people, 5 HP heal a meal. Can only be used once per during an actual battle until used out.
2. You catch a VICIOUS AS ******** FISH. It thrashes angrily. You take -5 damage per thrash as another player must do 10 damage to it. - Feeds 3 times/people, 10 HP heal a meal. Can only be used once per during an actual battle until used out.
3. You catch a glasseye snapper. YUM. You must hold the line, as another player does 5 damage to it to damage it into submission. - Feeds 1 times/person, 15 HP heal a meal. Can only be used once per during an actual battle until used out.
4. You catch a crab. Just a regular crab. You really don't need a net or anything. Roll 1d6 to see how many crabs you get. - Feeds 1 times/people, 1 HP heal a meal. Can only be used once per during an actual battle until used out.
5. You catch a well it looks edible. That's good right? You must hold the line, another player does 10 damage to damage it into submission. - Feeds 2 times/people, 5 HP heal a meal. Can only be used once per during an actual battle until used out.
"Great. It's hard to try and kill a fish without it slipping through your hands and getting away. I've tried and I'm not so good at spearfishing to stab one out of the water. I'll help back of course."
Walking to a section of beach that had a few rocks where fish collected, he slowly moved into the water and waited. "At least we were stranded on an island with fish that are edible and not made of Fear." He whispered before something very large floated up the beach, having made a very wrong turn from the water and was about to flop it's massive body back to the deep before he jumped on it, his knees and hands pinning it down.
"What the hell even is this thing? It's like a fish surfboard!" It was strange and large, but it was still a fish and that meant it was food.

Zane followed with slow, lazy steps. The ring on his finger shifted as Lerna covered his whole arm in preparation for fish beating. Of course, he hadn't expected a fish so large to show up and green eyes widened before he pushed his glasses up and rolled his shoulders.
Alright, time to show this fish who was boss!
He slid forward, slamming his gauntlet into giant fish with minimal success.
"Nothing to beat yourself up about. I didn't have any luck either despite having a grapple hook gun for a partner." Alicia quipped coolly, trailing after both Melvin and Zane to take her position some distance away from the Life hunter. Fortunately for all three of them, it seemed that they didn't have to wait for long for something to come along which had Melvin jumping onto it to hold it down with his weight while Zane rushed forth to punch the monstrosity.
"s**t! Are you guys sure about this? What if it's poisonous or something? I mean, look at the size and the shape of this thing. It's definitely not normal?" She called out to the both of them as she fired a shot at the fish while trying to avoid both men, flailing limbs and all.

"It's fine! Just keep hitting it. We can't wait around for a family of lobsters to show up."
He gripped more tightly as he held as best he could, digging into its gills and trying to drag it more to the shore. Water splashed all about as the fish trashed against the onslaught.

Zane shrugged at Alicia and her concerns.
"He already pulled it out of the water, might as well finish the job." They could worry about the lethalness of such a fish after it was a dead hunk of meat instead.
"Someone can test it later." Shrugging again, Zane went to hit it with his fist only for it to flop out of the way. "Shoot!" Fish HP: 47/50
"Lobsters aren't any better either! Too much effort and risk taking to justify the minuscule returns." Alicia pointed out. It really wasn't rocket science trying to figure out if catching a fish versus a sizeable lobster with pincers to boot would require more effort to be spent. Still then, beggars couldn't afford to be choosers and there was no telling what other sea life would come their way if they let this fish go now.
"Fine then. Perhaps one of you gentlemen would like to volunteer for the taste test after we're done with this?" Spotting an opening from Zane missing his mark, Alicia quickly followed up with a shot to try to help in holding the fish down.

"I'll eat any piece of it. My shield should be stronger......I hope." Without Saliva talking, he wasn't sure if his shield was still around or as stronger. Whatever the case, he was sure it would be fine to consume the fish and after all the fighting it was putting up, he wasn't about to let it go. The line past fishing and spite had been crossed and he wanted the fish dead now.

Zane didn't really see much of a point in continuing to argue about the safeness of this mystery fish they were striving to beat into submission.
Of course, it would help if he could hit the damn thing.
With gritted teeth he tried to actually hit the damn flopping thing.
Melvin offered himself as tribute and he raised both brows at Alicia when he nodded at him. "Look volunteer picked." This time his hit was successful.
