The mists were always on Hisse's mind. She'd abandoned her home partly because so many other lions had begun this trend. She was curious and she was not one to be out done in adventure. However, the further she traveled from her home lands the more she yearned to turn back and forget out doing other ex-mist members in her adventure.

Along her travels she'd crossed paths with another lion who had a similar story of leaving behind those he considered his family. Only Tadmor had done this twice. Once with his beloved family in the rogue lands and the second time he left the snowy yeti pride. It turned out that while he was well equipped to deal with snow that the lion wasn't a huge fan. Everything was white all the time and bleak and while other lions found that to be the charm it was some what of a turn off for Tadmor.

Hisse and Tadmor had gotten off to a great start in their very first encounter and that only seemed to be blossoming more and more as days passed and the two lions traveled together. Tadmor had never had a friend like this but it seemed like Hisse had had many friends similar to Tadmor which made him feel a little alone on the inside.

Today the goofy lion wasn't as goofy or as warm. There was something distant and a little cold about Tadmor which had Hisse a bit concerned. They had not known each other long but this was abrupt enough of a change to have Hisse worry. She was not one to be shy about such ordeals so she piped up to kill the silence.

"So," She stopped abruptly as the two had been padding along side by side. "Mind answering a question Tadmor?"

It had taken a moment for the big fluffy male to notice his companion was stalling. He stopped as soon as he had noticed but admittedly it was a delayed reaction. He craned his head to the side in a bit of confusion.

"Hrm?! Oh sure... Uh. Whats up?" There was a big goofy friendly grin sitting upon his maw.

"Everything okay? You've been quiet today. No witty jokes and what not." There was no need for Hisse to be coy with Tadmor or anyone that matter. The lioness was not one to beat around the bush ever.

"Oh." His grin loosened a great deal and his eyes shot to anything that wasn't Hisse. "Oh well.. Theres nothing really to talk about with that. I m not really in a talkative mood is all." Partly true but there was a reason for this. Hisse could tell he was holding something back and it bothered her a great deal. He'd bee all laughs literally just the day before.

"Well its strange you know... " She began, "We've not known each other that long but you're really shut down today. Did I say something? Have I offended you? I can't fix something if I don't know what I did."

"What no," Tadmors eyes shot back to hisse's, "What?" He was flustered now and if you could see under his facial fur you'd see a beet red face. The lion was mortified to find out he'd worried his friend that she may have offended him. "No no no no , " He couldn't find the words because the embarrassment was too overwhelming. This caused Hisse to chuckle.

"Then what?" She couldn't help but smile wide at how foolish Tadmor was acting. "You should tell me because we're traveling explorers together. We've got each others backs and I can't help if I don't know."

Tadmor remained quiet for a long time. He didn't want to say it because he was embarrassed. This reaction only frustrated Hisse even more.

"Fine," She decided. "You don't have to tell me but you should know it hurts my feelings a great deal that you don't trust me. I know we've not known each other long but I really thought we had each others backs no matter what." She sighed. "If it is me I apologize."

Tadmor could see the hurt he'd caused Hisse but he was not sure he wanted to share. It was embarrassing but he really did love his friend.

"You shouldn't be apologizing.." He chewed the bottom of his lip. Was he really going to tell her this? He didn't want to but if the truth would ease his friends worries then it was worth it.

"Im.. Im jealous of the friends you had." He admitted. "I've never really had a friend friend. Not outside my family at least. I never got to really know as many lions as you. Even in a pride I was a loner.. I've always been alone and you're the first real friendship I've ever had. I'm jealous that for you its not as special as it is for me. It means so much to me but I selfishly wish you were mine..." He couldn't stand thinking of another male being as close as he and Hisse had been over the time the two had spent together.

"What?" Hisse was shocked. She paused before bursting in to laughter and tears, "Are you serious?"

"Are you angry laughing?" Tadmor asked in a smallish voice.

"No no no no. I'm not angry at all but thats hilarious!" Hisse kept laughing.

"It's not that funny... I seriously... " Tadmor was feeling like he made a mistake sharing.

"No no no please don't be upset but that's the funniest thing you've ever said." Hisse wiped a tear from her eye, "It's funny cause there has never been a friend of mine thats been like you. I don't think that there has been anyone like you I've known. Just because I had friends doesn't mean you're not special."

Tadmor felt silly now because he knew she was right and that it was selfish of him to even worry about such a goofy thing.

"I.. Well.. I ..." He stammered, "I'm so sorry I was even worried. You're right." There was a big smile on his maw.

"Tadmor, you're a hoot. We shouldn't waste anymore time though. Lets tell jokes and carry on." Hisse smiled.

"Sounds good to me," Tadmor was relieved. He really did like this female after all.
