Before the mayhem at the lighthouse happened, before giant squids and crabs and frogs wrecked havoc upon the hunters, Joy was going through the day as usual. Sure, there was all this heightened security and warning about a storm and needing to not be alone, but it was still just another day at Deus. It was going to be another disaster, undoubtedly, but Joy figured she shouldn't cause further problems for the higher ups.

Which was why when she had to go continue with repair work and needed to be outside, well, she was going to have a buddy with her. And it just so happens that she picked "Sy, right?" she smiled, holding out her hand to the trainee.
