Great events good or horrible but memorable in kind, relics, royalty, star crossed lovers, faithful companions to heroes, heroes themselves, and the monsters they fought have their stories carved into the stars, but one way or another every Alicorn gets to mark the stars. Through their influence stories are created around them of their greatness, or horror. It's often through the retelling of these events true or fabricated that they are passed down and become our myths and legends. Since Alicorns do not live forever despite popular common folk belief it's up to the historians to try and preserve the truth or whats left of it, so that their memory doesn't fade away entirely and along with it their constellations. Lithe be damned Andromeda was going to try his hardest to preserve these stories of Alicorns now long passed and leave his mark by creating the constellations of his generation.
His work however wasn't always making lines in the sky, or scribbling old stories for record in his books to be retold. At times his work kept him busy on the road hunting down urban legends as they were now known, modern day fables if you asked him, in the hopes of finding some truth to their tales. He was on one such ventures now after having heard a particular interesting story from a Circus that had stopped in for a local celebration. It was outside one of these billowing tents at night long after the evening show had ended did he overhear some of the carny folk telling ghost stories around their campfire. One story in particular stood out among the others about a freak circus long since gone that was mascaraed by one of the caged monsters. Now these circuses have long since been outlawed, but ever now an again you'll hear word of an illegal one traveling through town advertising to older youth seeking thrills not knowing any better when the rightly should, and to shady cruel adults. It's because you still hear word of these carnivals still surviving through evading law enforcement that he believed such a tale to possibly be true even if it ended in the classic everyone died which left the obvious question then how did the story get spread in the first place.
Following his leads from one story teller to the next, he found someone that may have actually had part of the truth. Someone who had visited the circus before, but was not there for the event which occurred. He had given him a flier he still had, thinking to keep it after what he had heard had happened not too long after the night he visited. Proof at the very least that there was a Freak Circus and even more interesting an idea of what or rather who had caused the horror that lead to it's demise. The earth pony went on to described some of the displays, some of which he found hard to believe even when he went on to describe a horrid creature in a cage with multiple eyes all with glowing red stares, a ghastly stomach for a mouth. It wasn't until he described that creature having a unicorn horn and tattered feathered wings did he start to believe it may have been real. He hadn't heard of a creature with those features beforehand, but an Alicorn who come in all manner of appearances it was entirely possible.
Since questioning the past Circus attendant Andromeda hadn't found any more leads of where to go from there other than using the flier with the circus's name and the town's name listed on it to request guard reports who responded to the incident of the massacre the day after it occurred. With the knowledge that he had there was no way to track down what he believed to be an Alicorn who fled the scene, at least not until months later he received word of a creature matching that description in the mists of Spring Rain's Fog Meadow. Without hesitation Andromeda packed his gear and made haste towards Spring Rain in hopes that he would put rumor to rest, find the truth, and perhaps make begin plans of a constellation in their name if not for things that have come to past, but for whatever future events that would be brought about by this pony.
