Physical Description: Zaccheus has short, brown hair, light skin, and a face full of freckles. He is already fairly tall, but has the thin frame and still-childlike build to suggest that he hasn't finished growing. His eyes are a bright green.
Personality: Even in the face of danger or uncertainty, Zaccheus has always been a bright and happy child. He can be very empathetic when he tries, good at gauging people's feelings and being an understanding ear, but isn't always the most patient or responsible. He never has ill intent, but may need to be prompted to do the right thing when it comes to comforting people. In the end, he's just a kid. He wants to play around and do what he likes, not think about the 'right' or 'responsible' thing to do.
With his peers, Zaccheus is confident and cheerful, and tends to make friends quickly. He's good at asking questions of other people, focusing on their interests and hobbies to get them talking about something they enjoy. He's not terribly stubborn or difficult in nature, and has an honest, excitable interest in people that usually sees the best in everyone. Zacc is close and protective of his family, but not terribly clingy. He has always been free-spirited and independent. He's happy to go off on his own or hang out with his friends rather than hang around his family.
His wild nature is only amplified by the fact that he's frequently forced to do the opposite. 'Sit here and look after your brothers' 'Stay inside' 'Don't wander around'. For all his carefree nature, Zacc isn't much of a rule breaker, and will usually do what he's told when he's told to do it. But that doesn't mean he won't look for loop holes or just put in the bare minimum required of him.
Zaccheus can be fidgety and distractable when bored. He's has tons of energy and prefers doing things that require moving around and being outside to being stuck in a classroom or a dark smithy. When he has an interest in something, however, he seems to have boundless energy and endless persistence. He's the kind of person who can practice the same thing over and over over again, a thousand or more times a day, without ever getting bored of it.

History: Zaccheus was born at a small mining outpost beholden to Nabol, where his father was a distant relative of the Holder. Though this at least kept them from being sent to work in the mines, they were not rich or powerful by any means. The brothers were required to take up professions that were useful to the Hold, mostly blacksmithing, like their father, much to Zacc's disappointment. He studied smithing under his father, but his efforts were lackluster at best, and he was often scolded for his poor work or poor efforts. He had been given a canine puppy as a child, which he had adored, and had his heart set on being a beastcrafter, training the canine for all kinds of tricks and tasks. Sadly, there was little use for canines in a mine, though the idea was floated that he could one be a guard, though his mother was against it.
When Zacceus was eleven, his mother died of an illness. Not long after, the old Holder was killed in an accident suddenly, causing his three sons to row over the line of succession. The Hold had never been very safe, but things started getting worse after the Holder died, with a new conspiracy or murder being discovered seemingly daily. Their older brother was a guard for one of the sons, and hearing news of a coup, warned them to flee the Hold before they were caught up in the violence. His father chose to stay behind, but ordered Mikhel and Xanael to take the younger boys down to Western Weyr where another of their brothers lived as a rider.
The turmoil that followed was difficult even for Zacc, but he continued being his regular happy energetic self for his younger brothers' sakes, and to keep the older ones from worrying. Though he didn't know the exact circumstances around it, he wasn't particularly upset when they were forced to flee their home. Oblivious or otherwise unconcerned by the uncertain conditions around them, Zaccheus remained cheerful throughout their journey, running around on the ships or caravans, playing with Luca, and babysitting his brothers (after Mik or Xan bossed him into it).
Even the peril of thread didn't seem to change him. Though he obviously knew it was dangerous, he mostly just didn't think about it, focusing on other things instead. Excited to see the Weyr, he's eager to resume their journey to the West and reunite with his brother, that he honestly hardly even remembers.
Other: Has many other brothers (which are open to be played by anyone!). Has a canine called Luca that he's trained (will stay with his younger brother Raffa when he's a candidate)
