Sherry was being cautious as she poked around the Death Offices. She was on the lookout for her friends, and hoping to avoid Caelius. He was a rude person and she was upset with him still. While Sherry knew she wasn't likely to yell at him, she was worried about him asking for her ring again. She'd nearly lost a finger last time she'd run into him, not to mention all the stuff that happened afterward.

So. She was quietly poking around looking for Mark or Lucky, or even Gale perhaps. They were good people who were nice to chat with. They were her friends.

They also weren't there. The only person she saw was Rep. Who, of course, she knew in passing. They'd both been on the island a while, they'd both even helped with the recent orientation. They'd just never really talked. At all.

Perhaps it was time to change that.

Sherry stepped into the office. "Hi, Rep! I just wanted to say thanks for your presentation at the orientation. Hopefully it will... sink in to a few of the newbies."

Rep was in the death office most of the time when he wasn't out swimming, and given the amount of paperwork and other junk to be done after the last mission there hadn't been much swimming at all. He'd been at it for a few hours, his laptop open on the desk with a movie he'd seen a hundred times playing.

When Sherry showed up, he looked up and gave her a look, being Rep he didn't go as far as a smile, especially not since she'd had the misfortune of being born a woman - and women were the worst. But he had nothing against her either - she'd been pleasant and helpful - so the outright hostility didn't materialise either. Given the circumstances, it was a warm welcome by Rep standards.

"Nae bother." he said with a nod. "I doubt it will though, never does. Most people need to ******** up themselves to learn. But if you give them like, the best information you can then maybe there's one or two of them will avoid dying horribly before they reach hunter."

He lazily turned a page in the folder he had on the desk. "I'm generally of the let them learn through ******** up school of thought."

Sherry gave a small laugh. One of those laughs where you agree with someone and idea you are agreeing with is both sad and amusing somehow. "They can't say they weren't warned, though. We tried."

She shrugged. "Experience is the best teacher, though. I agree with you there." She glanced around around the office. "I don't think they were quite ready for the Sahara, but oh well. I don't think anybody is ever ready for that place their first time." A bigger shrug.

"Hey," Sherry said, looking at Rep. Small thoughts were occurring to her, and she realized Rep might know the answers to a few things. No secrets, of course, but general things. "Can I ask: What's it like working with Caelius?"

She'd just start with that.
