[PRP] Don't Touch That! [Mihail + Tantoe]

It was a rare rest night, which meant Mihail wanted to explore. He never really did much on these nights, at least by Aligaa's definition, but Mihail rather liked just wandering around. With such a jam packed schedule, he rarely had time to get to know his surroundings on a personal level. Sure, he could find his way around Civisect no problem after Aligaa had made him study maps of the city for hours - but he didn't really know it until he'd gotten the chance to explore a few times.

The next place on his list to get to know was Four Fronds. The forest would be impossible to memorize, he knew this, but that was why it drew him in. Aligaa was not a happy participant in this exploration, but true to his word he let Mihail choose what he wanted to do on his rest nights. Despite his iron control over Mihail's life, he knew that giving his charge zero say would just make him into a follower in the end.

The train ride was pleasant enough, but once he was off he began to feel a little.... out of place. The actual town of Four Fronds seemed pleasant enough, but he'd look at that later. He wanted to see the forest. He made his way toward the treeline, soon finding a path to follow into the woods. He wouldn't stray from it, lest he get lost or hurt, but it was a nice experience. Totally different from the noise and lights of Civisect. Some time down the path he spotted an interesting looking plant up ahead- just close enough to the trail for close inspection.

He stepped up to it, leaning in to examine the glowing mushroom. What was this? He started to reach out to touch it...

Tantoe didn't really have much of a schedule, other than basic troll needs. It wasn't that SlimeMama wouldn't have liked to put him on one, it was more she lacked the patience to steer her excitable and sporadic troll 24/7. The best she could do was remind him to eat, care for his body, and sleep at some basic time. Everything else? That was left to the whims of her boy.

She padded after him, having changed to her panther size as she watched her little blue-blood nyoom about, picking up anything he could find and stuffing it in his messenger bag. It wasn't very entertaining, but as long as he was happy, right? Happy and safe.

Her head canted to the size as she spotted movement, releasing a rolling chirp for her boy to see. Tantoe snapped his head around, eyes locking on the movement of another young troll ahead of them. His face broke into a bright grin, a hand raising to wave at the other troll when suddenly his eyes locked on what the boy was going to touch.

Oh no no no nononono!

It was the fastest SlimeMama had ever seen Tantoe go! One second he was behind her, the next dirt flew in the air as Tantoe bolted at the child. She leapt after him, fascinated with the new speed he was at. Who knew?

"Don't touch that!" Tantoe howled, almost colliding into the other child as he skidded to a stop. "They're super poisonous! It'll seep into your skin!"

Of all the things Mihail had expected to hear in the forest, someone yelling at him to stop what he was doing was not one of them. The purpleblood immediately jerked back, hands slapping to his sides as he went stiff as a board. He looked around, eyes a little wide as he tried to figure out who was yelling and where they'd come from.

A blueblood, running toward him. He blinked, stepping back a few paces as he loosened up, shaking his hands out to either side. Behind him, Aligaa emitted a low warning growl as he moved closer. Poisonous... He looked to the mushroom, then back to the other boy - then... over his shoulder at Aligaa. He'd probably be scolded for doing something thoughtless later... Finally he looked back to the other boy, then... noticed the slimy lusus trailing after him. Gross.

"Thanks.." He figured he had to at least say that. Could he... get away without any more speaking? Perhaps... continue down the trail? Bluebloods were to be afforded a fair level of respect, so... probably not. He shuffled to the side, indicating that he wanted to keep walking, but... made no move to actually leave just yet. Decisions, decisions.

Unfortunately, the purpleblood's desire to keep walking went unnoticed for the time being as Tantoe took a few seconds to wheeze for breath, body doubled over and hands on his knees.

"You're welcome." He pulled himself up, nodding towards the glowing mushroom with a faint hint of worry touching his features. "You're not from around here, are you?" He asked softly. Someone new to this part of the forest could easily get themselves hurt if they were prone to just touching anything, something Tantoe knew a lot about! How many times had he touched the wrong thing? Almost all of his knowledge was from first hand experience, even.

"There's a lot of dangerous plants in this area." He added, hesitating. Now, the normal thing to do was to leave from there, but Tantoe liked people. Not only that, he liked be helpful, too. A part of him hoped the other would ask for his help, and another part wanted to offer it. Instead, he turned his attention back to the mushroom.

"If it glows, it's usually poisonous. Unless it's green. Those are okay, and delicious!" Don't ask how he found that out, and how many things he had to eat to figure out that was the only exception.

Mihail observed him, still itching to leave but not wanting to be terribly rude. He shook his head at the question - no, he wasn't from around the forest, but... didn't want to tell the blueblood exactly where he was from. Despite his desire to leave, it seemed that the other boy did not want to let him be. He sighed internally... it figured he'd go for a walk in the woods and run into someone that wouldn't let him be.

"Good t-tto-too to know." Mihail resisted a grimace. "I won't ttto-touch-touch anything else, thanks." With that, he began skirting around the other boy on the trail, thinking perhaps that would send the message. Then again... Aligaa would have to get by too and well... He looked back at his alligator lusus. Aligaa was too big to just skirt by...

Now it got through to him. Tantoe stepped backwards and to the side, letting the other troll and their lusus room, although his eyes dragged on the lusus briefly. So..... cool!!!! He didn't miss the jealous chirp from SlimeMama, either, tilting his head over to smile briefly at her.

"Okay, cool." Tantoe said, shrugging as if it was a 'no big deal'. And really, it should be, right? Duh! It was just..... new friend! Well, potential friend, but Tantoe could sense when someone didn't want anything to do with him. Usually. Even if it was a few minutes late.

Slipping to the side, he scooped up SlimeMama, who let out a soft whirl of a chirp. Okay... he should head back now....

Mihail I am sorry, apparently you're in danger forest.

Thank god. Mihail nodded and then began to make his way down the trail some more. Aligaa eyed the other child for a moment before starting off after his charge, though kept a fair distance from him. He'd scold him later.

It wasn't much farther down the trail that Mihail realized it had become... overgrown. He paused, trying to discern which way it continued. To the right? The left...? It looked more... traveled to the left. He started off in that direction, carefully picking his way through the underbrush. Of course the direction he'd chosen was actually more of a hunting grounds than a hiking trail... but he didn't know that, now did he?

The thing was, Tantoe knew that, his head snapping to the direction the other went to. Oh boy, that wasn't good, was it? He fretted, feet shuffling as he considered what in the world to do. Following seemed like a terrible idea, but... just leaving the other on their own also seemed like a horrible idea, too. He looked down at SlimeMama, releasing a frustrated sigh.

"Just... it'll just be a minute, kay?" He apologetically smiled at his lusus, who frowned in return. She wasn't approving, not in the slightest. If the child wanted to get lost or hurt that was their decision, and they had a lusus of their own. She could care less, but Tantoe was already carefully and quietly following the other child. He knew how to be quiet? Why couldn't he exercise that more often... With a reluctant sigh, she trailed after her boy, tail twitching in annoyance.

Aligaa did not like where his charge was going. This part of the woods seemed... purposely unkempt, if it was at all possible for woods to be purposely unkempt. But Mihail was intent on doing what he was doing, and Aligaa was stuck between pulling him back and therefore infringing on the trust the two had that during rest days Aligaa would let him do as he pleased... and letting him learn on his own. What was a lusus to do?

Mihail, oblivious to Aligaa's dilemma, continued to pick his way through the forest in as little an invasive way as possible. He only stopped when he spotted something... not normal. At least, he didn't think it was normal. A pool of colored liquid - no, not just liquid, it was blood. He squatted in front of it, squinting as he looked around the area. An animal? Or a troll...? He ooked back to Aligaa, deciding this was not the direction that he wanted to be in. "Let's go ba-back." He started back the way they came - he thought? - with Aligaa following. The path wasn't that far off, right?
