There was a forlorn expression that lingered on Sid’s face as he looked down the darken stairs that led to the cove. Nellie had so kindly informed it was the next stop on his world wind to this whole new life that he had somewhat vague recollections agreeing to. Though to be completely fair he did remember agreeing joining something that was possibly a cultish in sounding instead of having to face a few years in jail. Sighing he headed down the stairs, shoulders sagging as he gave a rather dismal look as he walked into poorly lit room finally. It wasn’t a very large room as he tucked his hands into his pockets giving a dull expression, he was for the most part pretending as if he didn’t really care about the whole thing. Truthfully he was a smidge excited about seeing how this whole sort of weapon selection would even go about it. Maybe he would get a little lucky in getting something like cool like a gun or some sort of really cool sword though he wasn’t entirely sure how great he would be in using something like that. Didn’t matter though as long as it at least looked cool, cooler than anyone else’s on the island. Growing closer to the walls Sid took the time to look at each one closer noting the faintly carved ruins into some of them, a few looked rather newer while others had looked as if they had seen better days as cracks ran along their surfaces.
Finally he pulled a hand from his pocket and ran his fingers along the walls, so far nothing, they all seemed like ordinary rocks and Sid wasn’t even entirely sure if that this magic weapon really was real. Maybe Nellie and the rest of the whole cult like group were a little off their rocks and that this was a whole lot of bullshit and they would be standing at the top of the stairs laughing their asses off at him. Or maybe it just didn’t want him, maybe it took one look at him and decided that he was nothing but a joke, that would be the story of his life. He snorted as he moved towards the exit, better off facing the humiliation now than later.
Sid rose a brow turning on his heel as he looked back at the wall, his brows neatly knotted in annoyance. “What the hell?”
The voice spoke like a soft hiss as if entirely displeased with Sid’s current choice to simply walk out on it.
“And so what if I did, what the hell do you care?” The eyes gazed over looking for the faintest glow on the wall finally finding it neatly tucked behind the light of the barely lit torch. So that was why he hadn’t seen it earlier, she had blended in all too well away from observant eyes and unless someone had bothered to look close enough they would have easily missed it.
“Why is it all my fault, it’s not like you gave a s**t to say anything in the first place.” He pulled a face at the stone before letting his fingers brush against the warm surface. It felt alive as it hummed under his touch causing Sid to draw his hand back, the others had felt cool like any other stone but this one was obviously different from the others.
The voice was louder now as it thrummed with some sort of anticipation as Sid wrapped his fingers around it and pulled it free from its hold on the wall. There was a faint flash of light before the stone turned into a feather like dagger in his hand giving the same faint glow as the stone had previously.
“You not really impressive.” There was a hint of disappointment in his voice as he rolled her around in his hands, at least he had used a knife enough to be able to handle it efficiently to some extent.
Her voice sounded about as annoyed as his own had been when seeing her for the first time, he groaned a little to himself knowing that this was going to be a far from fun relationship. Was it too late to trade or maybe he could simply take another one, another stone or maybe just casually slip one from another hunter when they were a little busy with other things. It just had to be activated or something right?
