Her fingers had flowed across the keyboard very nearly of their own accord. Thoughtless, though she'd been doing her best not to think since their return. There was plenty about that other life that had been...appealing. Too much, but it was unobtainable, to say the least. A dream, wrapped in a nightmare, wrapped an pretty packaging, where it was impossible to tell where one ended and the next began.
It was all lies, of course. Some fabricated illusion to keep them contained and manageable.
Well, until they'd broken out.
Until she'd stepped through that mirror and into unimaginable power.
She closed her eyes as she let the memory of that rush wash over her, tanned skin tingling with it. Merlin. She'd wondered, since the battle on the top of the tower. The fragments of dreams, the sways in mood. It certainly made sense now.

They were never long, never arrived in much more than a small cluster of messages, but the djinn was making the effort to maintain the connection. Even if Riley didn't respond, there was satisfaction in knowing the other ghoul was reading them. Almost as quickly as they were sent, in fact.
That she had the mindlayer's attention was exciting, though Yaya couldn't have said exactly why. Memories and emotions, old and new, fabricated and actuality. Keeping it all separate in her own mind was increasingly difficult, especially with how easily her mind retreated to that other existence in her dreams.

There was a bit of a pause before after that last one. A handful of moments where in the djinn had yawned tiredly, stretching languidly in a bed that was blissfully empty of naught but herself and her sweet scareons.
But now they're gone

She'd dreamed of hunter bases, and sandwiches, and a warmth bath. All the memories she had been tried not to fixate on had played like a reel in her head, and at the end of it, a great green tree rising above it all. The details were fuzzy now, and the more she tried to focus on it, the less clearly she could see it, but the strangest thing, the most surreal, was the jewelry she found herself wearing when she'd woken up. New, definitely not something she remembered owning, let alone putting on. It rested on her forehead, a warm, comforting weight.
She touched a fingertip to it, nudging the gold setting, before rolling over to reach for her phone on the beside table. She was surprised to see she had a new message. More so when she realized who it was from.
A smile lighting upon dark lips, she typed out a reply.

She was inordinately pleased by the request.
The picture was straight on, a little smirk playing on full, dark lips as she gazed directly into the camera. The artifact was a gold set, shin chains disappearing back into her hair, and the gem that rested at the center of her brow glowed faintly, blue like her eyes.
