It had gone as nearly any other royal function. The guests were enjoying themselves, the wine was readily available, and chatter could be heard in all corners of the ballroom, where couples broke off or elegant ponies gathered to discuss the local goings-on and business affairs of the day, taking pleasure in their simple conversations. It went normally until a gasp took up from the ballroom's middle. The music ground to a halt as two masked ponies stood agaisnt one another, their claws crossed as though in a swordsdance. They circled once, twice, and then with sparks warred against one another. The pair spun, one leaping over the other's tail while a hindhoof flew over the first's head. There was a give and take to the spar that went on until security had gotten over their shock at the incident. The pair danced and moved deftly out of the hooves of the guardponies moving to apprehend them. They flew up and over a wall at the end, only one of them perching, before she turned. With a flourish, the sparkling draconic mare gave a bow, and pulled away her mask. The slow clapping died with another hush of a gasp as the Dragonet was revealed. Her eyes searched the crowd for a very specific pair. "I do hope you all have enjoyed the show, it seemed appropriate. There is but one mare for whom I would fight, and that is fairest Juliet!" Eyes shifted around the party, but by the time they found the air again, the dragon was gone, off to be chided by her brother in the darkness of the streets.
The next day the pair were laying about the square and talking, giggling about the ordeal and discussing plans for their next display. "I've no reason to fight without Juliet to all my nights light." The mare sighed, ignoring her brother's teasing pokes. "I would lay a thousand stallions on a pile, just to see one of her glorious smiles!" "Romea, you've it bad. You'd best not let father hear you, nor any Capulet cad. You know your interests cannot live, not while our families fight, for war is on our elders' minds, consumes them day and night." "Bah, 'tis a foolish persuit, at best. Perhaps they should all just give it a rest." The mare pouted, laying her head on her hooves. Her brother sighed, rolling his eyes as the hopeless conversation, and his overly romantic sister. He started to reply, but the voice that spoke next was a capulet's. "You there, who crashes parties with infighting!" Romea blinked at the impertinent stallion. "You daren't that trick again in more proper lighting!" he growled out. He sniffed derisively at the dragon buck nearby, who'd narrowed his eyes at the aquatic and his tag-along stallion. They kept walking, making their path deliberately between the pair. As he passed, the Capulet raised his hoof and kicked over the bench holding the mare up. She tumbled with a raucous landing, as the two laughed and kept walking. The dragon's blood was boiling at this point, and his wings and claws trembled with a desire to rip apart a pony. Romea just settled up against the bench, smiling at the retreating Capulet. "Relax, Mercutio, he isn't worth it. We'd be better off just going to the circus." You could almost hear skidding breaks as the water stallions pulled to an immediate stop. There was fire in their eyes as they spun to glare at the dragons. Romea just snickered and hopped into the air, flaunting her wings as she shot the pair a raspberry. "If the capulet boys know what's good to do, they won't pick a fight with me and you!" Romea's brother couldn't help but snicker and stick his tongue out at the boys, putting up his forehooves challengingly. "Bring it on, boys! We'll wreck you, even WITH your toys!" The Capulet pair growled out as they sprang forward, looking as menacing as the sharquatics they were possibly could. Mercutio laughed and dodged to the side of one, hopping over the other as he shoved their face into the ground. White Romea lounged on the bench she was leaning on, watching the pair. When one of the capulets turned her way, she dodged into the air and kept out of his way, giving a false bow. "Darling, I'm no fool. We could take you two on two, but only if the challenge comes from you. Listening's something Mercutio failed; it was from him the challenge hailed." Mercutio caught the fin of the shark still attacking him as the other capulet looked eager to join in for the distraction. Romea's brother barely took to the air in time to get out of their way, and sniggered when he watched the pair collide. With curses flung behind them, the pair retreated, Mercutio pestering Romea for a better explanation.
It was some time later, a couple evenings, when Juliet settled on a rock at the base of the cliffs. She'd settled in to watch the sunset, but something left her restless. A glimmer in the corner of her periphery drew her attention, and she ducked behind her perch as she spotted a dragon's form up the cliff. She was just now noticing, and for the first time, that there was a cave system pocking the cliff. How had she missed that!? There! That dragon, again. She'd found them. Her eyes locked on the form, dancing over the glimmer of its embedded gems and glossy white pelt, as the figure leaned on the balcony. "What light-" She murmured, one ear perking, before she dove into the water and moved to the rock bed beneath the cliffs more. She waited until danger had passed to look up the cliff face again. The different angle took a moment to find her target. "That bleached hide is Romea's shine!" she hissed, curling about her rock to watch. The mare on high flopped onto the ledge and looked out at the sky. Sound travelled better down the sharp cliff than up it. "Oh, but if my name weren't mine." She sighed and lay her head on one hoof. "Or that Fairest Juliet were free to swim at my side!" Her wings lay limp against the porch-step of the cave. "Were that we both had fins or wings, that our families could argue no more, and suffer none of jealousy's rings." Words had never seemed so sweet, and Juliet wanted only to be closer to her fair Romea. "I would happily be free my name, if only it meant for you I might aim!" Juliet sang softly. The music travelled more than just her voice at a murmur, and the white mare above looked about for the faint sound. "I would trust your wings to any height, and sail the sea with you at night, for it's beauty hardly holds a candle's light to all the glory you give both day and night!" Romea blushed on her ledge, peering down at the aquatic fish below. She peered over her shoulder for a long few moments, pensively, before she shuffled her bulk off the ledge and let herself drop towards the rocks below. Her wings spread only about a foot above Juliet's head and demanded a gasp from her, before she spun in an intricate aerial display and gathered the fishpony from her rock, beating her wings to take the air under her again. "Then let's be off and return nevermore. You will be mine," She nuzzled her captive, who returned the affection with a snuggle. "And I will be forever yours."

It was actually incredibly hard for me to pick a winner in this because both the entries were fantastic. So I'm gonna make an executive decision here and give out two prizes.
But first!! The grand winners!!! And the reason I'm inplimenting a word limit to every other game from now on~♡
