Colored by YushikaStarts: Now Ends: July 31st, 11:59pm MSTThe shark featured above has numerous wounds on them, and no one but the foal knows why. During the transition from their hiding place to the open world, this shark was abandoned by their birth parents for some unknown reason and in the process injured. Alone, injured, and now without a family, this pony isn't too hopeful about their future.
The goal of this game is to both explain how they received their injuries, and also win their heart. You will answer how they received their injuries and RP either a pony you own or an NPC character meeting this foal at an orphanage in hopes to woo them. You may RP the pony within your prompt, however only the winner of the pony will have their entry considered cannon.

Username: Ruhane Chiisai What Happened: With the 'gates' open now, the aquatics had begun to make their way to land, eager to meet new friends, and curious to the world they'd missed! Not everyone made it easily, though. One little sharkling had been found alone on a beach, unconscious in the water's sway. The beachcomber, at a loss for what to do, had dragged the pup to the nearest orphanage and offered an account of where he'd found the poor little thing.
The foal hasn't spoken to anypony since waking, but acts as if anything with wings is a terrifying thing. One night, a young alicorn arrived who specialized in walking through memories, and took a stroll through the shark pup's little mind while he dreamed. She saw the pup's parents, hapily swimming with him in their pod towards the land. When they surfaced, just within eyesight of the shore, the memories became chaos.
Some kind of battle waged over the waves, winged creatures of all sorts, including draconic ponies, pegasai, dragons, pheonixes, and a few other beasts of the winged variety scratched and clawed at one another. A screech preceeded the young shark's removal from the water, and then his parents and their own pod joining the fight until the creature that stole the shark cub was forced to drop him from a gryphon's blow. The pup fell to the waves far below and was forced to dizzily flee predators faster than he, showing a special cunning when he dodged around indigenous sealife and coral to distract his pursuers.
By this time, lost and exhausted, the sharkling was also hungry, and he'd curled up inside a small underwater cave, only to be chased out halfway through the night by yet another predator, catching him off-guard in his sleep. He almost hadn't kept his dorsal! The rest of the memories grew fuzzy after the sharkling started crawling onto the shore, and the alicorn respectfully left the pup's thoughts, offering him a pleasant few, much earlier memories in hope of restoring him from the distress she'd delivered his dreams. It seemed to work, and she sighed, as she set into writing up her paperwork.
Meeting the Foal: The foal had spent some weeks at the orphanage. He avoided the other foals, and didn't try particularly hard to impress the adults. The orphanarium learned to adv his caution when something winged came through, well-aware by now of his... insecurities around them. Rare was the foal who would utter foul language simply for a pony having wings.
The folk were beginning to lose hope that the little gray shark might find himself someplace to live, when a unicorn who had been through the orphanarium some time ago, shortly after his arrival, returned. He hadn't taken anypony home, then, but he smiled broadly, as though he'd found the most glorious item on the beach that morning.
After a brief discussion, the caretakers gave a quiet nod and led the stallion to his quarry. The little sharkling was by himself again, playing idly with blocks in the corner and glaring at anypony that came close. Although he paused, it didn't seem much to phase the stallion. "Can I play?" the sandy uni cooed, standing a couple feet off to keep from scaring the little colt.
The pup tossed him an irate look, then threw a block at the unicorn. He just chuckled and caught it, leaning around the wooden cube with a soft grin. "I'm sure a ball would work better if you really wanna play catch." Another dirty look, and the stallion settled on his haunches. "Oh, come now, I'm not asking you to put on a dress or wave a wand and pretend there's nothing wrong." He... wasn't really helping the looks the foal was giging him, and now the caretaker watched him with something between concern and confusion in her own eyes.
"We could talk instead, if you want." The shark huffed and spun in place to stare at the wall like it was the most interesting thing on land. "A swim, then?" The foal drew rigid, peering over his shoulder quietly. "I'm not a great swimmer, so nothing deep for me, but there's a pool out back, I think. Wanna take a float?" It was subtle, but since the unicorn was paying the attention, he caught the little colt biting his lip before the soft, stout little nod. The uni stallion pretended not to notice the dropped jowels of the caretakers, as he walked with the colt outside to the pool.
Throughout their time in the pool, the uni learned about the colt's fear of flying things. He hummed at the conundrum, then built a magic dome above the pool, and asked for one of the pegasai above to demonstrate its stability. When the airborne horse folded his wings and peered through the wall above, it seemed to have eased the foal's concerns, and the youth set into teaching the older stallion a little about swimming, after he figured out how to correct the inconsistencies his tail's new piercings offered his direction.
After a long day in the shallow pool, the two wandered in again, as the sun set. The Uni's horns had shrivelled some with all the water and his back, haunches, and most of his face had kind of a crimsonish glow, but he chuckled anyways, as he looked to the shark. "See? That was fun, right? Sure you don't wanna give the world another chance, little waterspot?"
The foal stopped and tilted his head at the Uni. "How'd you know my name?"
The uni chuckled and nuzzled the youth. "Seemed like a fitting nickname. I haven't exactly met many sharks."

The distance between Spring Castle and the Forgotten Island was a long one. Far too long for such a young shark to make it on her own. Which, wasn't a problem. She had her parents, her father offering now and again to let her rest on his back. It was an offer that was happily taken, one that allowed the little pony to nap. She drifted off to the familiar scent of her father and the soothing voice of her mother.
It was the sudden drop back into the water that woke her, the little shark dropping a ways below the surface in her disorientation. Overhead, the water lit up in great flashes, Sea Fury having to close her eyes a moment. She'd maybe expected one of her parents to find her, but for a few long moments she was alone. Pushing herself to the surface, she scanned the water in every direction, but she couldn't see either of her parents. Maybe they'd gone below? The water was starting to get rough. Diving back down, the small pony looked about, using the flashes of lightning in hopes of spotting one of her parents.
She wasn't seeing anything. She'd just been on her father's back. Where had they gone? How could they have gotten so far, so quickly? She wasn't too worried just yet. They would notice and come back. Her parents had never left her behind, so they would be back. She waited for a long while, the little shark getting more and more upset as time went on. The storm had continued on its path, leaving her with slowly calming seas. It was obvious by now that no one was coming and she could not just stay out there.
Desperate to find her parents and get to safety, the little shark did the only thing she could do. Swim. Swim and pray she was heading in the right direction.
When she came to, the little one found herself on a beach but no one was there waiting for her. No parents, no one even looking for her. It was almost panic inducing, was panic inducing if she allowed herself to think about it. She was trying not to. What good would it do her?
Allowing herself a moment, she debated just remaining there before pushing herself back up to her legs and starting on her way. Her parents had to be just as worried about her as she was them. She had to find them! It was just a shame she didn't even know where it was she was going.
Beach turned to grass, grass turned to trees and at this point she was just hoping to find a city because they'd be able to point her in the right direction at this rate. At least, she could only hope they could. But what if it was called the Forgotten Village for a reason?
Night came too quickly and the little shark found herself shuddering and stumbling in the lack of light. Desperation for warmth and to stop walking lead her to taking the first shelter she could find. And being such a young pup she had no clue about checking for danger and creatures living in said shelters out in the world.
Curled up in the far corner where residual heat remained, it didn't take long for the pup to fall asleep. It took her about the same time to wake up some time later to the deep growling of a large creature. Eyes snapping open, she whimpered and tried to shove herself into a corner. It seemed like it hadn't noticed her yet.
Loud snuffling echoed around her and panic thudded in her chest. There was no telling what it would do once it found her. Maybe she could...
Taking a risk, the small shark decided to try sneaking around the creature but she wasn't quick enough, the large Ursa catching her out of the corner of it's eye and swinging a massive paw at her. It hit, rolling her towards her target location but not without damage. Blood dripped down her eye, making it hard to see, and dizziness kept her from running.
Wanting to make sure the pipsqueak learned her lesson, the ursa turned to stalk after her with the intent to rough her up just a little more. Shakingly she took to her feet and ran, not willing to risk anymore damage from the large bear.
Unfortunately the smell of blood was enticing to other creatures and it wasn't long before she found herself the target of timbers. Tired, scared, and unable to see well it didn't take them long to converge on the shark pup and start tearing into their meal.
When she came to it was to a roof over her head and bandages over her injured eye. At least, for the moment, she was safe.
Meeting the Foal: "They wanted me!"
A shout had the reddish-brown pony turning from where she'd been watching a few other youngsters playing. The playground was full of little ponies of every background, so there were sure to be squabbles. It was just a fact of life, especially with little ones that had no real control over their situation and surroundings. Sundance's gaze settled over a grouping of fillies and colts that had formed a circle around a rather angry looking shark pup. She was flashing a row of very sharp teeth at the offending group in hopes that it would drive them off.
"Yeah right! Your parents didn't want you and neither did your new parents!"
The shark pup snorted, taking a step forward, which broke the group up. A few squealing with laughter, others squeaking their fear of her. It was all more than enough to have Sundance frowning. She could only watch for the moment as the tough facade the little shark pup put up crumpled.
With her tormentors gone for the moment, the little pup just sort of plopped herself down into a sit, her head hanging a bit. The bared fangs became clenched teeth as tears rolled down her cheeks. It brought forth another angry sound, a hoof stomping the ground. This wasn't where she belonged. Her parents were out there. Her real parents.
Feeling her heart break a bit, Sundance moved to join the little filly. She did nothing to hide her approach, the shark looking up a bit before she looked away, trying to hide the tears. "Hey." Sundance kept her voice soft, settling herself beside the other. "It's okay. It was really great how you stood up to them." It hadn't had the desired effect, but it showed there was a fear that retribution would befall them. She had that at least.
The little shark was quiet, obviously struggling to get it back under control. What did they know? Saying that she wasn't wanted. She had parents out there that wanted her. They hadn't thrown her away or gotten sick and died. They would come for her. "... T-they'll be back."
"Let them come." Sundance was watching one of the offending colts, he was currently playfully picking on a friend of his. "Keep your cool and ignore them. They'll get bored."
"They'll leave me alone?" That had her looking to the older pony.
"They'll leave you alone." She smiled, turning her attention back to the shark pup. "I'm Sundance, by the way. What's your name?"
There was another sniff and a wipe of a hoof across her nose. "Sea Fury. Are you here to take someone home?"
"Looking to. You looking for a couple of parents?" Sundance allowed herself a bit of a chuckle at the pointed frown from Sea Fury. "Sorry, sorry. I'm used to talking to and caring for plants. Fiesty kiddos like you are new for me."
"So why come here then?" The frown had fallen away, the shark more confused now. Why wasn't she at a farm or a nursery?
Lifting a hoof, Sundance pointed out a rather pretty, purple pony that was walking and chatting with the caretaker of the orphans. "She's why. Her name's Moondance and she's my mate. She... Well, we, want to bring home a little filly of joy. We've been planning on it for a while and today's the day. I couldn't tell her nooo-" Sundance let her words trail off. She was gushing about her mate to a child. She was a bit relieved when a giggle met her ears. "Liked that did you?"
Sea Fury offered the older pony a sharp grin that had Sundance giving her a playful snort. "I think you should meet Moon. You two would get along."
"You think so?" The little shark couldn't help but ask before her smile fell. "I'm waiting on my parents though."
That had Sundance looking a bit concerned. "They're coming for you? So why wait here?"
The little shark looked up at the pony that stood beside her, looking her up and down a moment. They would help find her parents? Maybe they'd do better than she had those last few days.
"We can help you find your parents and you'll have your own room in the process. We have the space and you won't be a burden. I promise you." Sundance was almost desperate. No youngster should ever have to live like this.
"You promise? Promise that you'll help me?" That hard look had crossed Sea Fury's face again. She would only take the offer if the offer of help was serious.
"I promise." Sundance even went so far as to make the gesture of crossing her heart. "We'll do whatever we can."
"Alright."
Sundance tried hard not to do a dance of joy, looking over to where her mate and the Matron were talking. "Moon! I have someone for you to meet!"
