Joy had a list. Joy had a name. This shouldn't be too hard. Or take too long. Of course, with most of Deus needing repairs, she accounted for that kind of delay. And she knew other things were of a higher priority (the Infirmary for one!) but she wanted this out of the way.
Which was why she came looking for Melvin. "Hiyoooo~" she greeted when she spotted him. Waving and giving him one of her usual ear to ear grins as she approached.

Melvin had been about to enter the runic office with a defibrillator case in one arm when he heard someone call out to him in a sing-song voice. Knowing the few people who bothered saying high to him, it rules out a lot of them. "Oh, that makes sense." He said when he spotted Joy. "Hello."
He turned about, wondering why she was at the runic office, but had a feeling that it was the same reason everyone was at the runic office these days.

There was an apologetic curve to the way her brows were furrowed together. It made her reason to be there rather obvious, but still, Joy would have said Hi to Melvin anyway. She would have said Hi to anyone really. That cheerfulness was a constant.
"I'm guessing you're kinda busy with cleaning and fixing up the infirmary. You want any help?" she offered, deciding to lead in with doing a good deed before revealing her own selfish request.

"We're moving the damaged projects and the ones we have to put on hold to another room. A lot of stuff got destroyed and some of it was even for clients so we have to text them and break the news to them that their stuff got ruined. Some people are being assholes and saying we should replace it." He sighed at having to be partly customer service too at times.
"So if you want to help move stuff, we have plenty of it. If not, the infirmary still has a lot to fix and clean out. I have to go over and pick up a order here in a few minutes if you want to walk with me for that." There was still more than that to do, but he really didn't want to go down the mile-long list.

The helping instincts kicked in and naturally Joy would be more than happy to "I can mos def help you move things and clean up! Like, the faster the betterer yeah?" She could bring up her own order later, after she was a good person and proved she was a very useful individual who would totally appreciate being moved up the line of orders. "Just show me what I gotta do~" She smiled, walking beside Melvin.
"How bad was your place hit during the whole," she made some weird hand gestures "Y'know?"

"Alright. We can go pick up some equipment then. Just follow me." Setting the defibulator on his overcrowded desk, he headed out of the office down towards the Infirmary.
"My home was barely touched. My dorm, however, got trashed. A lot of things were broken or torn. The bath I installed is broken along with the walls and windows. I'm still cleaning it out when I get time. What about you?"

Joy looked visibly surprised about how "You still kept your dorm even if you have a house already?" And it was less to do with finances and more "How do you find the time to keep both cleaned? You're, like, super busy even before s**t went down on the island!" the moon hunter sounded impressed with what must surely be an incredible feat of time management.
"I moved outta my dorm once Kai agreed to room with me. Our flat's in need of a bit of clean up buuuuuut we need a new boombox runic'd. Oh and an oven too." She felt somewhat pleased by the fact that she managed to subtly (or as subtle as Joy ever could) work the request into the conversation.

"It isn't hard to keep a room clean. A spare room is good for private use and as a work area. It also means you have a backup place in case your home gets destroyed. If you don't live there them cleaning is relatively easy to do. Right now I need to rebuild the entire room though as the walls are missing and the bathroom has all its items desteoyed. It was an expensive bath too." He sighed.
"I'd charge an arm and a leg to get it fixed but I know everyone has it rough right now."
He opened the door for her as they continued down the hallway. "Boomboxes are rather simple. Ovens are a monster to runic and will cost you a lot and take a while. A few weeks. Will you be buying a new one?"

"You know what I called my backup place before I was recruited?" A beat. "My parent's place! Nyek nyek nyeeeek~" she laughed, thoroughly amused by her own humor.
The smile on her face turned strained hearing how expensive it was going to be. Though there was no exact amount, she knew what the phrase meant."Hey, that's oks, business is business. I getcha. The oven's the only like big pocket-burning thing that got broken and I have a specific brand of oven I wanna get. So charge what ya gotta charge. But, can it uh be in installment plan? Please"

He looked over at her and smiled. "Yeah, we can work something out. I know we all have limited paychecks here after all. We can talk out the details when I get an idea of what oven you have. The heavier the tech on the oven the more work we have to do on it."
He stopped at the front desk of the Infirmary. "Janice. Do you know where Britten is? I have to pick up a EKG machine from him."
"I think he was in room 124." She said, and he tapped a knocked on the counter. "Thanks."
Gesturing for Joy to follow, he headed that way. "You lived with your parents before you came here?"

Obediently, Joy followed after the Life hunter, giving Janice a wave goodbye as she and Melvin headed to room 124. She didn't so much as bat an eye when she admitted "Yeppers, most people I know live with their parents until they get married. And depending on the family, some even stay with their parents even after they get married. Buuuut that like, nearly two decades ago. Ewan lang if it's still that way."

"Who knows. My parents were probably hoping I'd hook up with someone in college and marry on my way out. They probably would take me back after college until I landed a job. That was always the game-plan before....well, I guess before I died." He paused at the door, thinking about it for a beat before shaking his head and opening the door.
Inside were a few hunters among various machines and a few white boards with various formals. One however, was a pool with several names down one side and markers of the days of the week, Melvin's name included in one of the spaces.
"Hey, I'm here to pick up." He said, and a curly-haired red-head with a Madonna T-shirt on walked over. "Hey yeah. We got the order in for the replacement." He said, wheeling over a machine that had various wires on it along with small finger clamps and pads.
"Alright. I'll wheel it over and see about getting it started tomorrow." He said, looking up at the board before back to Joy. "This is Joy. This here is Britten. That's Mike. And that's Darla." He said, before turning about. "Don't trust em. They'll try and get you to test anything." He said to which the red-headed tech grinned.

Joy never thought about how her parents had taken the new to her "death", at least she never thought about it too deeply. She followed in after Melvin and gave the hunters he'd introduced a friendly wave. The warning garnered a chuckle, "Hey, if it pays good, and I get a warning, I'd be down to be a guinea pig."
Clearly she had not been experimented on enough to take the warning seriously.
