Stormy nodded and gripped his shoulder in kind, ready to keep swinging with her other arm if need be. Her legs were seeping blood, but she tried not to think about it. And then something ripped Gale from her grasp.
On instinct she whirled around to face some other being or effect from the centipede, but for a moment there was nothing but the wind and sand and heat. Grimacing, she pulled her scarf over her face and bore through it until the burst had passed. When she cleared it, her vision returned and let her locate Gale near the portal.
"I'm okay. We should make sure everyone makes it, too," she told him over the noise, legs now caked with rust colored sand, hand tight on her weapon.

"Oh! Why thank you," Nora said as one of the division leads came to her assistance. That made how many lovely people coming by now? She might have to pay visits afterwards.
But first, to get out of the immediate vicinity of the portal's exit to avoid being crushed by the onslaught of fleeing hunters.

"Meri? MERI! GAHDAMN IT!"
If he could have wrestled the Sahara, he would have then, he was so furious. As it was, Dawson waited until the protective barrier of the runic dagger faded, and then he grabbed it as he began to ran. Passing someone who looked lost, he took the girl's hand and put his shield up to try and stop the worst of the chaos from getting to them.
"That way," he grunted, heart pounding as he kept searching for the red-haired trainee. "Just run!"

Plus two to speed. Darling. But the heat was getting to her, and it was showing. Sam wasn't the kind of athletic that could sustain her through a dead run. Luckily, the cavalry arrived before she could fall over in the sand and not get up.
Miraculously after stumbling for a bit, she found Kammy being escorted by a large fellow. Someone else then came for her, also wearing a Moon coat, and helped her to the portal in the blink of an eye. Sam took a deep breath of the island air and sighed once they were both through.
"Well, that wasn't so bad," she said to her new danger-forged partner, though not so loud that less fortunate hunters heard. Her peach blonde hair was whipped into a frenzy that didn't match the trainee's calm, if tired voice. "A little harsh for an orientation, however."

Dean groaned. Of course his partner was uninitiated in good movies.
( i cannot help you through this now. ) Breindha, though still mystical in tone, actually sounded remorseful for once.
He had felt himself being pulled up, the sounds of Nash and someone else he couldn't make out distant in his ears, and then...just nothing. How long had he been blearily standing there, hunched under his own weight? Dean was absently able to notice that there were more hunters now, and everyone was streaming towards one area. Zombie-like, he attempted to follow.
The centipede quickly reminded him of his place by face planting him into the sand once more.

One second Roland was there with her, the next he was airborne and Peyton saw a flag of blue to her side in the form of a very large, very familiar scythe. "God damnit, why?!" She almost how'd the Death lead had heard her. Almost. What ping was there in flinging trainees up on on the Titan's back? The leads themselves could barely scratch the damn things, a trainee wasn't going to do anything to it.
But, there in the distance, the sudden and wonderful view of a portal. "About ******** time. Thank God!" They needed to get the newbies out of there, and they need to do that now. Peyton has taken off across the sand in the direction Roland had been launched, but she only made it a few steps before her ankle was yanked or from under her.
She but the ground, had half a secund to wonder what the ******** had just happened, and then found herself suddenly airborne. When she leaned it was right beside the portal, though she was pretty sure she'd seen Kai struggling along not too far off.

More chaos and Zeke found himself alone again, but this time for only a moment. The calvary had arrived, finally, and hunters were swooping in the grab those that needed it, directing them—or throwing them, in some cases—towards the portal that was glowing like a beacon about a hundred yards away.
Zeke sprinted for it.
He didn't even notice the smaller centipedes until days were raining down to destroy them. The Mist have Dwight a one hand salute and kept running.

Henry didn't know what was happening. He'd grabbed into Nellie's arm tightly, afraid he'd lose her again, but there was a portal now, and hunters were there to help.

Soleil had been looking for Luna, but the next thing she knew she was flying head long into the portal that had appeared a moment before.
When she landed it was on grass, not sand. She lady there for a long moment without moving, just relearning how to breath, fingertips running through the grass beneath her hands.
The clouds looked really pretty...
