As someone who relied on the cafeteria as his main source for meals, Zeke Delta bit obligated to pitch in with the restorations. He was there now, white tank top streaked with construction dust, worn jeans tucked into the tops of his favorite leather boots. He was hauling bags of dry cement. There were two balanced on one shoulder as he made his way over to deposit them on the top of the stack.

It certainly wasn't there most original line, nor the smoothest. But what had Zeke turning around to give the speaker an amused, curious look was that he recognized the voice, Ave that want anything he'd expect to here from this particular person.

And it wasn't like Zeke was at his best in the moment. Dust streaked and a little sweaty.

"What was that?" He'd heard just fine, but it was much more amusing for him to see if Melvin would actually repeat himself.

Zeke smirked, he couldn't help it. Turning fully now so he could take the offered water and give the cap a small twist to crack it open. "And why is that?" He could have just accepted the compliment, but where was the fun in that?

Being hit on really want that all install for him, it happened frequently, though more back at the University. It was the who that was so very surprising. He wasn't up to date on the current happenings between Melvin and the sociopath, but even if they weren't currently a thing, Melvin seeking outside companionship just seemed odd.

Granted, Zeke didn't really know him that well.

It was a reasonable assumption, even if it wasn't quite right. The more interesting point though, was the admittance that Melvin had been giving him a bit of a look over while they'd been diving. That had the Mist's grin broadening, sharpening a touch along the corners. And all at once it'd seem as though Melvin had his full and undivided attention.

"Depends on what you mean by working out. I spar, run occasionally,and swim when I get the opportunity." That was honestly all he had time for if he wanted to continue working on his research project in what limited free time the infirmary allotted him.

"I swam in college, before Deus found me. So I was in shape when I got here."

If Zeke hadn't already realized what Melvin was aiming for, those last few comments would have certainly confirmed it. They weren't smooth, not in the last, and it was almost painfully clear that the Life hunter had been out of the game for...a while now.

Which honestly just made it all that much more entertaining.

Zeke was having a difficult time reigning in his smirk. Keeping that curve of lips closer to friendly than all out amused, though the latter definitely shown through around the edges.

"Is that so?" He kept it casual, as if he were oblivious to the internal struggle(or possible commentary), and as if this wasn't the most awkward pick up attempt he'd ever had the pleasure of enduring.

"I mean, they might, but I don't really lift much." THose broad shoulders came up in a small shrug.

This was by far the strangest instance of flirting Zeke had ever been a part of, and he couldn't quite stop the slow grow of the smile on his face as Melvin continued talking about his muscles and how impressive they looked.

"I don't prioritize working out often, so more often than not we're doing other things. It depends on who I'm hanging out with."

He glanced down at his own arm as it was gestured to. "Enough to lift what needs lifting. Being a Hunter helps." He shrugged. "Beside sparring and running occasionally I save my free time away from the infirmary for more enjoyable things."

Today was an obvious exception.

He'd have to pause as he lifted another two bags of cement into his shoulder, but after adjusting for balance he'd shoot Melvin a sideways look as he made his way back. "Sleeping," he answered earnestly, laughing. "Or trying to." Working in the infirmary meant long hours, and sometimes very little sleep.

"Aside from that I like reading, relaxing, or ********." And that was the same no matter who he happened to be sharing company with.

"Oh, and eating." He grinned widely. "I'm always hungry."
