In a cauldron, a sweet smelling liquid was bubbling as Zecora made her way up and down a shelf full of bottles and wooden bowls. Occasionally, she would pull something down weigh it in her hand and put it back up on the shelf and then jot down a note on a pad of paper. She was making a list of supplies that she would gather next time she left Laisidhiel with Enki, she was only checking supplies found in a certain region as it was an impossible trek to gather from all over the island in one go. For a moment she paused, thinking lovingly of her mate. She so enjoyed their outings together, it always reminded her of their little adventure that caused them to meet. She might not ever have let another pae in so close as to form a relationship beyond friendship if it hadn't been for that experience. It had been destiny that she and him would find their way to each other in such a manner. She finished her list and wandered over to the cauldron to stir it. As she did she sniffed at the fragrant aroma, deciding to add a pinch of blue powder from one of the nearby bowls. Almost done. Yipes came running up to the tree, the look of panic was pure and heartfelt. Bursting thru the doors, he raced down hallways up stairs.
He was sure if he remembered right but Lord cheese, help him. He ran around the small winding corner before coming to a screeching halt in front of a door. No, seriously. He screeched. And left hoof tracks.
Throwing the wooden door open , he stopped short in his urgency and stared in shock at the striped fauness stirring a giant cauldron.
He calmly stepped back out the door and leeked arou D the opening then stepped back in and looked around the decorum and such.
Then turned back to the fauness and smiled as he said "I like what you've done with the place, man."

As the door flung open, Zecora just about dropped the spoon into the cauldron. That would have been a first, but she managed to save rescue it before the whole thing was in. She blinked at the open doorway, setting the spoon on the table beside her before any more sudden things happened. As the faun stepped back inside, she waited for a moment, confused by his greeting. Usually faun knocked, and he sounded like he had been here before. Zecora was certain that she had never seen his rainbow colored stripes before. "I beg your pardon, bu' tiz dere anyting I can be helpin' you wit." Zecora asked of the faun. Usually faun came to her for help, but this visit seemed most unusual.

Yipes told the fauness about his sick baby. Many arm gestures and much more enthusiastic than normal retelling of his tale of travel from his home and how his baby had slowly started deteriorate in health. Until he finally made it here and his child was in the visiting wards and since she had all these spells and amazing soup cooking if maybe just maybe she could point him in the direction of the nearest healer?
All in one breath. In one giant long sentence.

If other faun thought that Zecora was difficult to understand with her thick accent, they had yet to listen to Yipes speak. He didn't even have an accent and Zecora was having problems keeping up. "So you says your chil' is ill? An' your chil' be in da visiting wards?" Zecora had no idea if she had understood him at all, he had spoken so quickly. "I be a healer." Zecora started, she could at least answer that, though her methods of healing were slightly different than some of the other healers of the tree. "But all my healin' I be doin' here, dere is no 'ward'. You be best checkin' da infirmary." It seemed like he might be describing the infirmary, they had beds and such for long term guests.

Yipes was attempting to breathe when she admitted her healin status. He knew the gods were shining down on him. He must have been guided by the purple rhino of peanuts to this wonderful young woman. "Wait." Breathe. "Right". Breathe. " Here."
He said. Then took off like a bat out of Hades toward his child. He made sure to shut the door behind him cause of manners and also managed to avoid a few catastrophes as well as caused a few accidents.
A few minutes later he returned, the same screech outside the room. And the door flew open yet again and there was Yipes. With his backpack. He was craddling the sack as though gold were in it.
"Here she is." He stated gravely, holding the pack out for Zecora to see.

A thick look of confusion crossed Zecora's face, she had never been left feeling so bewildered before. Just as quickly as the faun had arrived he was gone, whatever was going on, it was a very urgent situation. Zecora kept herself busy while he was gone, emptying the contents of the cauldron into several bottles, although not sealing them up quite yet since there was still steam coming off the liquid. She was prepared for the faun to come back, so this time when he burst through the door she did not drop the bottle she was holding, but she did quickly set it down. She stared at his backpack curiously. His child was so small, it must be very ill, but carrying it in a backpack... was probably not good for the child either. Zecora held out her arms to receive the backpack and cautiously lifted the flap. Her nose met the most foul odors as she looked down at the rotting pineapple that was contained in the bag. "Oh, dis is most unique." Zecora responded, looking back up at Yipes and trying to figure out what she was supposed to do.

Yipes was pacing the floor by the doorway. At Zecora's words, he paled. He turned to look at the striped fauness, the concerned clear on his features.
"I know. I have had this child for many moons. And it was only as we left that she started to fall ill. Do you think it is because we left my home in forest?" He asked.
If he had only known that his daughter Allouete had been replacing his child every time she needed a snack while 'babysitting', he would have been even more freaked out. But he didn't. So he was under suspicion that the poor pineapple had grown I'll on his journey back to the tree.
"Should we return to the grass but? Do you think it is wih longing that she has fallen so I'll?" He asked, running a hand across the pineapple lovingly.

Zecora's look of concern thickened, "I need to consult my books..." She said thoughtfully, going to her shelf and picking a book titled "Uncommon Illnesses and their Treatments" if he managed to get a look at the title. Zecora was not actually reading the book though as she flipped through the pages and appeared to be reading it. Instead, she was pondering this situation and what to do about it. Clearly the faun had some sort of mental condition affecting his mind that he thought a pineapple was his child. Then there was his story that it had been fine when they were in the forest and now it was not. Perhaps it had still been planted when he was in the forest, and he removed it from its plant in order to go elsewhere. Did she treat him or the pineapple? She could easily take this pineapple to her kitchen and throw it away and replace it with a fresh one. However, since he wasn't likely to eat it, he would only be back in a few weeks when that one went bad. "I see..." Zecora murmured as she came up with a plan and shut her book. "I must take your child back to my treatment room... you must wait out here." Zecora grabbed a different book off of her shelf, this time taking special care to keep its title hidden if the faun were paying attention. Zecora was not normally so deceptive, but this was a very different situation.

Yipes nodded as the fauness lead his baby away. He knew he was in good hands. While he waited, he decided ti have a look around. Touching things here and there. Rubbing his face on a hanging plant. Stupid and reckless but in Yipes's eyes, it was also nice to be around such quality items. He had never been in a healers domain before. Though there was prolly a good reason for it. He sat down the lastest herb he had rubbed on and wandered over to the bookshelf. Even tho a few of them made him sneeze and he was starting to puff up on one side of his face from the plant rubbing, he was not worried in the slightest. He had faith that this Zecora would fix his child.

Zecora spent her time in her 'treatment room' aka the kitchen pouring over the book she had grabbed, reading the section on pineapple growth. When she was done, she took the pineapple he had handed her and tossed it in the bin for kitchen scraps and grabbed a fresh pineapple from her personal stores. Zecora shook her head, hoping that her plan would work. The female faun returned from the kitchen, cradling this new pineapple and began speaking upon entering the room. "You see, it is quite common for children to need roots to grow..." Zecora started as she looked up from the pineapple and was met with the horror that was Yipes' face. "oh my trees!" She said, so appalled she nearly dropped the pineapple. How long had she left him alone for?! Zecora shook her head so wildly and set the pineapple down, quickly making a salve before the situation could get any worse. "You sit there." Zecora instructed him, not wanting him to get into anything else while she had her back turned.

Yipes turned and smiled at the fauness. Tho it really was more like a grimace. His eye was starting to tingle. Holding his hands out for his baby, he gladly sat down, waiting to hug his baby. His face fell a bit, not that you could tell from the swelling when she sat it down next to her instead of in his arms.
"Orrrrr, thlank chuu Soo muff, thealer womands" he said, his speech a touch slurred thanks to the barage of face wiping.
"Isht thee bether?"

While Zecora worked on the salve, she would peek over her shoulder every once in a while to make sure that Yipes was indeed sitting still and not getting into any more trouble. When she was finished she turned around. "I have to put this on your face, until it is dry you must keep it in place..." she instructed him as she spread the salve around the swollen parts of his face. "It is wise not to touch things, unless you have the knowledge that they are okay to touch." she told the colorful faun. She then grabbed the fresh pineapple and placed it in his lap. "Take care of your child, bring it back for checkups once a week." Zecora had a feeling she was going to be eating a lot of pineapple.

Yipes nodded vigorously, which may have made some of the salve drip to the floor. "But etherythingth watch tho boothifull" he said, in way of apologizing. Or defense. He wasn't real sure what either of those meant, actually. When she sat back down, after handing him his pineapple, he promptly hugged the pineapple and told her thank you. He also told her that her home was lovely. "I ethspecially lothe the pplanths." He said, cracking a weird, swollen troll kind of grin. Jumping up, he quickly made to give Zecora a hug before dashing out the door, already gone before even a few seconds was over with. He realized he forgot something, so he turned around and popped his head back in as well as his pineapple kid. "The planth sayth thank thou!" He gave another little wave and dissapeared yet again. His boisterous singing , which was loud and obnoxious and completely unintelligible with his new slur, the only proof that he had existed at all.

Zecora could hardly understand the swollen language of the other faun. "Uhm, yes." she zebra faun responded as she stood there frozen from the hug the other had given her. What a strange, strange faun. She jumped a bit when he popped back in. "You are most welcome." she said, still blinking at him. Zecora waited a moment, in case he was about to pop back in again before she relaxed completely and shook her head. Once a week... she was going to need to find a way to make a pineapple last longer.
