Joy came to the training field because she was feeling a bit of a disconnect with her weapon. The whole being a Horseman and loving the s**t out of it in spite of her being all alone and without that constant presence of Bert in the back of her head. One of the best ways to reconnect was to get into a spar. Maybe slash some training dummies to shreds.
No. her weapon gave the distinct impression that he wanted a living, breathing Hunter to fight against. Joy wasn't so sure about how she felt about striking against someone after remembering that ridiculous thrill and almost euphoric joy she felt as a Horseman slaughtering hunters.
But maybe this would help snap her out of it. Now it all depended on who was around.

Clyde had been working out in the gym. It felt good to stretch, and build some strength. His body felt whole again. Though he still had a strange feeling of itch crawling across his skin from time to time. Sometimes in him. He tried not to let it bother him too much, it was just a dream. A very realistic very odd dream, that he couldn't quiet manage to shake the haze off of. The comfort of Van was still there, silent and broody at the back of his mind. Broody because she wanted to stretch too. I the dream world he had fought thing, fought himself and the bugs. It would be nice if he translated that into actual fighting things. Maybe some targets, just to keep his aim up. He wasn't the only one down there it seemed. "Hey Joy." he waved. She had been in his dream too. Something with wings, war? Horseman. His memories didn't seem to want to connect properly about that. He knew about horsemen, but not very much. He wasn't even sure how "real" the dream was. He wouldn't have called it real if he hadn't come back to all the damage.

Joy waved to her fellow Moon, not feeling the least bit weirded out that he'd been in the dream thing. Admittedly his appearance in the dream thing had been a little creepy with all those bugs but it had been Clyde underneath it all. And sure she some kinduva kinda broke down with him but in Joy's defense, he'd been the closest to a confidant she had, has on the island. Don't get her wrong, Kai's a great flat-mate but she'd known Clyde longer and she unconsciously put up a sort of "older sister" act around the younger Sun.
Him, was Bert's decision. Why was Clyde going to be Joy's target for sparring? He is here. No malice.
Which Joy took to mean that if she fought against Clyde, she wouldn't want to go all-out and kill him. There would be no risk of her going all "Liya" on him. "Hey, Clyde, you wanna make hit on me?" the conyotic twang came out to prevent her desire of going full blown Taglish.

"Make a what now?" Clyde gave Joy a blank stare. What was she talking about? He was just here to shoot targets, you know flex his guns a little. Vanessa just gave a mantle shrug. She was still coiled up, in her way. Giving him an impression more than any actual words. She didn't care.

The grin Joy gave Clyde was a little bit too similar to that of Liya, should the other Moon's memories decide to sharpen at that exact moment. She barely gave him any warning, beyond a sharp bark of "I attack you!" followed by laughter.
She charged at him but rather than slashing and stabbing with daggers, it was the bladed shovel that swung dangerously close to his neck, twisting at the last second to have the flat of the shovel slam into him. Thank god for FEAR shields because Joy threw a lot of force in that strike.

Clyde was not ready. He was so not ready. That shovel hit him with a solid smack. At least he had been lucky enough to not turn his face into it. He just stood stock still and took it, staring at her with the most bewildered look on his face. Were they fighting? Sparring? (Right that was a things hunters did, but he just was completely under prepared for that.) Move you idiot.Clyde just couldn't get his feet to comply. "Huy! Don't just stand there, draw your guns!" Joy ordered, grinning as she added "And I don't mean your arms." And speaking of arms, the next target of the lobotomizer ended up just that: Clyde's arms. And it seemed for this spar, Joy was going for blunt force trauma.

Joy know him well because he was already flexing at her. (And getting smacked in the arm, that would have hurt if it weren't for fear shield.) "What not these guns? How about these guns." He finally got around to summoning his guns and then shot at her forehead.

Joy's head snapped back at the impact, and without the FEAR shield she should have been dead. Normally, someone would thank their lucky stars and be more careful of their actions. But Joy, unfortunately, took this as an encouragement to prolong the fight.
"There we go~" she grinned, licking at her lips as if she'd taste blood. The next strike was weaker than the first two now that Clyde had started actually fighting back.

Clyde wasn't thinking about the fact that he should be dead. Or that she should be dead. He was just grinning. Now that he warmed up there was a little light in his eyes. Her next strike should have hurt, but it didn't. He aimed a little lower and shot a couple more bullets. "You want to fight?" HP: 19/40 Damage: 6 charge 2

"Kanina pa, p're!" The lilting laughter in her voice, the use of her native tongue, yeah Joy was feeling happy and free and herself. Admittedly when she wasn't a hunter she'd resorted to fighting with her fists and feet, which was probably why she threw in a couple of knees and elbow strikes before rounding it off with a blow from her weapon.

"Ok, I totally can't understand you." and that distraction was all she needed to land in a couple of solid hits. "Hey hey! Knees are just rude... watch where you are kicking!" he put a hand down to protect a very sensitive area. Very sensitive. Don't knee him there fear shield or not.
"Wow you are wound up tired than a spring today, Joy." he punched for her nose. Not because he was mad but because that was what seemed close enough at the moment.

Joy felt the crunch of his fist against her nose, but she fought against the instinct to check for blood. Instead trying for a swing (and a miss). "Ay sorry! I'm not wound up, I'm just ready for a rumble~"

Clyde grinned. "Ahhh next time more warning?" And he smacked her on top of the head with the butt of his gun. Some part of him still cringed at the fact that she should be hurt. Had he done this to a normal human, that might have done serious damage. But she like him was a hunter. HP: 8/40 Damage: 4 charge 3

Joy had to give Clyde a laugh, "Okay! Imma warning you right now, this is gonna hurt!" and the force of the blow was made so much worse because it was the blade that drove into the other moon's FEAR shield.
