Joining Periods:

We will open up a joining thread for a period between 1-3 weeks, during this time you will be able to apply with your potential lion. This will ensure should have enough time to apply.

We will also have an IC thread open for the actual joining process for your lion to participate in.

The periods in which you can apply are below:

• Winter Solstice - Longest night of the year
  
• Summer Solstice - Shortest night of the year.

Joining Limitations:

Several joining limitations exist to ensure that the transition into the pride and its culture are easy. They're also here to ensure that the pride isn't overwhelmed by new blood and their culture isn't swept away by outsider influence.

• At this time, a person may only have one lion join per year.
  
• A person can choose to have that lion join at any one of the events.
  
• Only lions will be permitted to join.
  
• Joining members will take the rank of Ezinulo, and may progress to other ranks later. Barring extreme circumstances, however, rogues may never become Amoosu.
  
• Those with corrupt intentions will be turned away. At this time, please refrain from entering characters that are ill-intentioned thieves, murderers, etc. as Nchekwube would be able to sense their intentions.
  
• Piggybacking off this previous note, Nchekwube also has the ability (as noted by Meep in the original character concept) to recognize a god in disguise and know their domain. The pride would be wary about gods, and those with 'evil' domains would certainly not be welcome.
  
• While not a strict rule, the N'ezi-ozu are wary of outsiders and those unlike them. As the N'ezi-ozu are generally mutely colored, brightly colored lions would not necessarily be turned away but might be met with distrust from more conservative pride members. That being said, there is no specific rule concerning a joining lion's coloration.
  
• At this time, joining rogues have a 2 month (OOC) ban on breeding.

[In Character] Initiation/Joining Ritual

This will be heavily reliant on the lion or lioness meeting the entirety of the pride. During this ceremony they will step forward to gaze into the eyes of Nchekwube.

Assuming that all goes well, Nchekwube will then see the True Nature of that lion and determine whether or not their intentions are good and if they are genuine. If they come with animosity in their hearts, then they will be immediately escorted from the pride. There will be no discussion, no pleading, Nchekwube's judgement is final.

If they pass by the gaze of the gifted Amoosu, then they will be presented with a strange set of avian bones of different shapes. Each of these shapes represents a family.

In this, the Onyeisi will wish the joining lion well and ask them to take these trinkets. The joining lion will then toss these trinkets into the air and the one that lands closest to them will be that which Fate has selected. They will join that family and be embraced as one.

Following the earthquake in the previous pride events, a pathway into the N'ezi-ozu caldera has been opened and, unsurprisingly, it took little time for a group of lions to find their way in. Utilizing Nchekwube's ability to discern a lion's True Nature, Onyeisi Itiri is allowing for a brief period of time in which rogue lions will be admitted to the pride.


Rules:

• Please read over the pride information before applying!
  
• As stated above, you may only enter one (1) lion into the N'ezi-ozu per year, so choose wisely!
  
• Also stated above, please refrain from entering evil or otherwise ill-intentined lions. Nchekwube's ability would call for them to be turned away.
  
• For additional opportunities, see This contest for pre-made lions that will be joining! Winning a lion from this contest does NOT bar you from entering one of your preexisting lions at this time.
  
• At this time, adults and adolescent lions may join.
  
• An amendment to the IC joining process above, the detail about seeing in the bones what family someone belongs to is a detail that will be worked out among IC leadership at a later date. At this time, lions can assume Nchekwube hints at what family to join. As this whole process is taxing, the detail of using bones will be utilized later to lighten his load.

How to Join:

• Post the application found above to enter your character. When accepted, you may RP your lion in the ORP where Nchekwube will meet them, confirm that they may join. Their family will be determined in the ORP and, at that time, you may post for a cert and their information will be added to the Hierarchy sticky.

Brief Backstory: Qamar was born in the roguelands to a former Dawnwalker huntress. He has spent all of his life wandering the lands, searching for anywhere to call home. He had come across practically his entire family who had made their home in the Mwezi'johari lands, and decided he wanted something different in his life. How he ended up near the N'ezi border is a mystery; he likely continued to wander, and the earth shake is what led his paws to the land.
Brief Personality: Qamar is a pretty stoic lion. One of his downfalls is he holds grudges. He's not really mean about it, but if someone wrongs him, even unintentionally, he will always judge them from an indefinite period of time.
Is this a joint application? No (He does have a future mate plot in mind, but that probably won't be for a little bit of time while the characters work out their differences ICly).

Brief Backstory: Sawa was part of the Swampies for a brief time, but while she was off on her quest at adolescence the pride disbanned so she's been wandering on her own. She had a litter of two cubs but they went their own way when they were old enough, leaving her to roam again. She was part of a huge family and although she enjoys her quiet time, she does miss having that companionship of a pride.
Brief Personality: Sawa is a quiet girl who likes to keep to herself, spending more time talking to plants and 'spirits' around her. She doesn't do it around others because it's put enough lions off, but she doesn't hide it if someone walks up on her while she's chatting to a flower. She doesn't hear any replies, she just is happy carrying on conversations with foliage. Sawa is very kind-hearted and sweet, able to see the best in everyone and is perhaps a bit too trusting of strangers.

Brief Backstory: Born into the Low Class of the Mwezi'johari, Nina-dini always resented her position and the fact she was the only girl in the litter of four - Being low-class, she felt pittied and sheltered, while being female meant she couldn't simply marry out of the class, where as her three brothers COULD. When Shangyue came to power in the pride, she grasped the opportunity to be something more than a slave, only for it to backfire hard. Between how things ended and a rogue that took advantage of her fragile state, she was left pregnant. Her cubs were, blessedly, born outside the low class. She felt they would do far better without her there like a dark cloud, though, and left when they were old enough to be without her, in the care of her relative, Kin. She's been wandering since then, her path leading her near the N'ezi, while trying to find somewhere she feels she belongs.
Brief Personality: Initially closed off, Nina is slow to warm to others and wary to trust. When she does, though, she can be incredibly loyal to the lucky lion(s). When she feels strongly about something, she sticks to it. Nina can be hesitant to speak up about things, after her past with her birth pride - She is now cautious to fully take a side without first observing all sides to determine which one may be the right or evne best side of an issue. While she won't say it, she misses her cubs dearly and hopes they grew up into good lions.

Brief Backstory: Born into the Swampie pride, she went on her pilgrimage and returned only to see that her homelands were empty. Abandoning the name she had discovered during her pilgrimage, she left to return to a rogue life, searching for any sort of purpose. During this time she happened to accidentally really offend another lion (Kasai's Qamar), who will ironically be finding his way to the same pride.
Brief Personality: Demani is a good-natured lioness who just has had a bad stroke in life. Abandoning her true name discovered on her pilgrimage is the most evidence that Demani is currently at a loss with herself. She is trying to figure out what she wants to do in life and who she wants to be.

Brief Backstory: An only child to a rogue couple, Qi stayed and her parents' sides throughout her life. A part of a traveling group of merchants and tinkerers, Qi found happiness making trinkets out of the materials around her, while her parents crafted stories and fairytales that Qi grew up on. Doted on for almost her entire life, she became lost and disenchanted with her group after her parents passed away. It wasn't long until she sought out to find somewhere that suited her, perhaps one with intrigue like in the stories her parents told.
Brief Personality: Unafraid to speak her mind, Qi has a mouth that seems to run faster than her mind. Though she means well, this young lioness hasn't really learned the importance of tact. She is proud, but easily frazzled when she (inevitably) talks herself into corners. She's quick to trust and quick to love, but also quick to get a grudge and make judgements given the right thing sets her off.

Brief Backstory: Daisha's life was simple as a cub, but as she grew, she experienced the Swampie fire that left her a traumatized insomniac, and the disbanding of her pride left her in a rather terrible state. She will be joining to try to find some help!
Brief Personality: A cautious introvert who tries to be cheerful and kind to any lions she meets (she's a bit afraid of non-lions). She loves to learn and explore, but right now her trauma has kind of deadened that desire.

Brief Backstory: A small chubby lioness born a simple rogue, she has no real story to tell, she was born to a single rogue mother out in the rogue lands the only cub, she was spoiled by her mother but never really learned any proper social skills. When her mother died she found herself very alone so decided to seek out others. She is simply an adult in search of a new home and a life that doesn’t involve her being alone.
Brief Personality: Sassy but thoughtful she often speaks her mind rather than hold her tongue this can sometimes lead to her getting in a bit of trouble with others.
