Why did your human character choose to become a Hunter?
Life sucked when your sister was better than you at just about everything except talking to people. And that didn't account for much when Dean was quickly labeled a trouble child with a loud mouth. He didn't get to know his father before the accident that took his life, so he grew up in a single parent home barely making enough to support the family, stuck in the shadow of his lauded sibling. It molded him to become a short-tempered, highly protective individual who didn't know when to quit.
Dean did what he could to try and help: nick a few things here and there, snatch pocket change from the fountain, attempt to study and get incredibly bored. He was the one who stayed behind and helped around the house, insistent that their mother be treated like a queen while Sam went off to college. The shadows were just his imagination, a by-product of stress or just reading too much, or whatever. It was only after Sam disappeared that he started to take it seriously.
He joined a group of like minded individuals through the use of a forum someone had made for people with similar experiences. Together they attempted to investigate these creatures and pooled their knowledge to try and unravel the mystery. Dean was eventually picked up by a recruiter and only agreed after he was promised his mother would be able to live in comfort in return.
