Not bad. I'm guessing that the MC is blind? If so--nice. That's one way of cheating out of writing description. xd Can't say I mind, though. It'll make the story that much more interesting, should you decide to write more.

I like how it's narrated by someone with no eyes.
I was seven-eight in second grade, and my birthday's in April... so that would mean I was six-seven in first.

Most kids are five in kindergarten, but there are always a few early starters with overeager parents, so you're okay.
