It was fun to be a corrupt senshi. Periclase honestly thought it was one of the best things that could have ever happened to her. It was…exhilarating, draining energy…hurting people. It wasn’t something she had ever really thought about doing…but now that she had the chance…
Well…she really, really liked it.
A lot.
Of course…she hadn’t really been involved in any real…danger yet. Meaning she still hadn’t met anyone from the other side…the meeting to try to trap Stellerite’s senshi hadn’t gone according to plan for the girl hadn’t shown up at all…and thus Periclase was woefully behind in the fighting the enemy department…of course, that was subject to change at any time…and if her senses were telling her the truth, that time was now. There was someone…else out there…pretty close by and the whole fact that she was about to come face to face with a real…a real enemy made her heart pound a little. Perhaps now was the time to really work out her own powers of manipulation and…and see what kind of fun she could have.
Biting her lip, the corrupt looked around, then quickly hid herself behind a tree, peeking out and whoever…or whatever was coming closer. She could act timid…and perhaps she could get whoever it was to trust her…then perhaps…
…Perhaps she really could have some fun.
Stella would be so proud.

Nikolas was perhaps not the most dutiful of senshi. His priorities were elsewhere--in his dance, teaching, and other responsibilities that took up the lion's share of his time. Moving about in the uniform was a rare occurrence, mostly when he wanted to enjoy parkour with that extra boost. Perhaps test his magic a bit more on the strange monsters--youma--that roamed the city. He'd quickly learned they posed the more immediate threat to his day-to-day routines. Stalking patrons after evening shows, interrupting lessons or ambushing students in the alleys near the dance studio. The Negaverse were equally a nuisance, though thus far only in the form of upsetting performance rosters by draining energy from key dancers right before opening nights.
But he'd never really had the chance to fight one of them yet.
It was perhaps why he wasn't on high alert when he felt a different aura than the Order senshi and knights he'd already encountered. It wasn't the sickly feeling of a youma, but it was… off. He moved at a decent pace, vaulting with ease over fencing and enjoying the feel of that additional strength. He could tell he was closer to the source of the energy, but exactly where was lost to him. Blue brows furrowed. Was he mistaken? Surely not. It felt like there was someone here...
"Hello? Is anyone present?" His words rang with a Russian accent, and Lich looked about, growing more curious as the seconds ticked on.

Well. It was a boy, she could tell that much at least…and judging by what he was wearing…it was a senshi…so. Okay. She could handle this. Slowly Periclase peeked around the tree again, shyly waving at the senshi coming towards her. “Um. Hello…uh…who are you?” There. That was perfect shyness if she had ever heard it.
The corrupt took a slow step away from the tree and bit her lip. “You’re…you’re one of those senshi, aren’t you? I’ve never actually seen one of you, but I’ve heard of things…a lot of things…um…are you going to hurt me…? Because I mean…I would really rather you didn’t…”
She reached for part of one of her long pigtails and twisted it, looking anxious. “I’m uh…I’m Periclase…”
Hopefully he would fall for the act and not think her a threat…hopefully her plan worked or she would be quite disgruntled. It wasn’t as though there was much thought behind her plan…but still. It was hers. And she wanted her first encounter to come off with something good from it.

The movement caught his eye quickly, and Lich stilled, taking in the soft words and hesitant glances from the girl somewhat behind a tree. She moved slowly, and Lich himself remained where he was, unsure if he had frightened her, or risked doing so if he approached further.
She was rather timid looking, if still rather darling in her uniform. The sense of wrong felt at odds with her gentle words and appearance, and his brows furrowed at the suggestion that he might hurt her.
"You are a senshi as well, are you not?" He took a careful step forward, head tilted slightly to the side as he watched her. "Why would you assume I would hurt you, if you have met no others? Senshi are not youma." They were the only mindless monsters he could think of, though he still offered a warm smile to hearing her name. "I am Lich. It is lovely to meet you, Periclase." Even if her words were a bit... troubling.

“I am…but, I’m on the other side…you’re one of the White Moon senshi, aren’t you?” Periclase took a few more steps towards Lich, allowing some curiosity to show on her face as she looked him over. “I don’t think that you’d hurt me, I suppose…I just…you know…you’re told to be careful of those in the White Moon…told that they’re all monsters…”
Swallowing, she raised her eyes to her face and gave a tiny smile. “It’s…lovely to meet you too, Lich…I’m glad that you’re not like the senshi that I’ve been told about.” Giving a small laugh, the corrupt pushed the long pigtail back behind her shoulder, crossing her arms in front of her chest. “You know, they always tell you to go out with someone stronger your first few times…I was supposed to wait but…I just got…excited you know? To make a difference in the world? I just…”
She shrugged again, her eyes returning to the ground.
Hopefully he was as new as she was, obviously he had to be at least a little green, what with calling her a senshi too…she was. But she was different.
Better.

The... other side? His confusion continued to grow. Again his mind went to what little he knew, thinking of the youma that prowled the streets and the people who, from what he'd heard, killed left and right. Surely someone so timid like her couldn't be apart of it, right?
But Lich stared at her, shameless in his own displays of curiosity and disbelief. "Monsters? The White Moon? We do not kill people or set loose beasts in the streets." Though he laughed, he was troubled by the concept she was speaking of. What was she even referring to..? He wanted to press the matter, find out why she would think the White Moon of all people were the ones to fear, but as she grew slightly... bolder? Relaxed? He listened attentively, curious of the odd-aura senshi before him.
Of course, his smile was almost bitter at her information. "Ah, you have a mentor then, yes?" Wistful, was he, at such a thing. He'd met a few helpful felines, sure, and they were lovely, but an actual mentor..? Aha.... no. Not that he possessed such thoughts of saving the world, to make a difference as she said... he couldn't help but smile, chuckling softly. "It is a good goal. How would you change things, hm?"

She looked up at him, doubt evident in her eyes. “That’s not what I’ve been told. I’ve been told that you’re utterly ruthless and you attack without bothering to initiate conversation. That the only reason that our side…that our side even had to be formed was to stop you from destroying the Earth…”
Her eyes lowered and she looked up at him from under her lashes, seeming to almost curl in on herself again. “I don’t…I mean. I kind of have a mentor…but she’s busy a lot, and I don’t want to bother her…besides…she trusts me to get real world knowledge…” Puckering her lips, Periclase shrugged. “…I was supposed to be doing some research tonight…not going out into the field. She’ll be cross with me if she finds out I disobeyed…She’s so worried about my safety, you know.”
At his chuckle, the corrupt seemed to relax a little, moving a few steps closer. “How would I change things? Well, I’d try to get your side to talk with us more…I’m sure we could work things out if we just had a little more communication…don’t you think? I don’t want a war…I don’t like the idea of fighting…and the thought of people getting hurt…even if they’re my enemies…I don’t like the idea of people getting hurt.”
She took a few more steps closer, letting her arms drop slowly, trying to invite him closer...if he could feel enough pity to try and comfort her...well. She knew what to do when her hands got on someone, that was for sure.

"It is... interesting that what you are saying, fits the description I have been given of the Negaverse." His brows were knit, a frown marring his features as he took in the conflicting information. The tactic wasn't new to him--even as little attention as he paid to history classes he knew that it was, of course, common for all parties involved in war to spread their propaganda.
The question merely was, what grains of truth were the bits embedded in it all?
"This war seems even more pointless, however, in either case. Both sides merely want to protect the Earth. The war causes destruction from both sides. It is a worthless war." So why were so many of them fighting it?
Still, he felt that twinge of jealousy as she spoke of her mentor--or supervisor, as it might more accurately be described. "What sort of research does she have you conduct?" He paused, his curiosity getting the better of him, and Lich gave a slightly bitter laugh. "Though it sounds like a tedious situation, it still seems effective to learn your way in things. I am glad you have such resources to help you." He couldn't imagine someone like her trying to face this alone.
As Periclase spoke of how she would encourage communication between factions, Lich found himself smiling, not minding as she began to approach. Instead, he took a few steps forward himself, the distance closing bit by bit. He didn't feel threatened in the slightest. If anything he felt... at ease with the darker-garbed senshi. "I think those are honorable goals. I would like to help with such things, if there were a chance to do so. Too many people are vanishing in this city, too many people hurt and lives torn apart. Surely there must be other ways for things to end, no?" He continued to approach until he was within arm's length of her, smiling down almost wistfully at the girl.

She couldn’t hide the smile that formed when he continued talking and came closer. He seemed so relaxed too…it was perfect. Slowly, seeming hesitant, Periclase reached out and took one of Lich’s hands, pulling it close and flattening her palm against his. “I suppose…you and I aren’t so different.” There was no need to answer his questions…not fully. But…she could try. Just…not when she had more important things to say.
Slowly she looked up at him, giving a much shyer smile. “I think…this has been a good learning opportunity for me…that not all senshi are the hostile monsters that some of my group paints them out to be…but…in that vein…I…” She shrugged, her eyes flickering back to their hands again.
“I wonder…why we were chosen for this? Why were you brought into the White Moon…? Did you have a choice in the matter? Is this the path that you would have chosen if you had a choice?”
Obviously she had a choice. She had a choice and more importantly…she had been chosen for this. Handpicked and she wouldn’t have it any other way if she could go back and do it again. She would take the same path each and every time.
This was her destiny.
And hopefully, it would be his destiny one day to wear the same black as she did.

The hand that gripped his was warm and small, and again Lich was struck with the contrast of her sweetness and the foreboding edge of her aura. Why was this? Why did someone's faction effect their... presence, so much?
His fingers curled around hers, and he smiled. They were similar--they wanted peace. At least, it seemed she wanted such a thing. "I can agree with this. That it is a learning experience, I mean. You do not at all match the description others have given those of the Negaverse--perhaps that is the same then for others?"
Her questions though startled him, and Lich's eyes widened slightly as he gazed down at her. Choice..? He blinked, gaze lifting into the empty air as he thought about his meeting with Snowball. "I am... uncertain," he said at length, his words gradual as he considered them. The weight of them. "The guardian who awoke me was kind, and I do not regret awakening. I have just not... found my place in things, I suppose. My path has not really been chosen yet, I would say." He felt no shame in admitting this, though now as he looked back to Periclase, he wondered if perhaps their meeting would help give him some direction to find that path.
Certainly, he would be trying to learn more about the differences between Chaos and Order, White Moon and the Negaverse. There had to be reasons for why this war was even raging--somewhere.

When his fingers curled around her hand she glanced up, giving a smile that she put all of her effort into. It was as warm and as heartstoppingly sweet as she could make it, which…after practicing in a mirror, it damn well better have been.
“Maybe! But…I’m glad that…I’m glad that neither of us have given in to the words from our factions…at least…not yet. We were allowed to meet first…if…if neither of us has really chosen our paths…” Periclase swallowed and lowered her eyes, then glanced up at him rather coyly from under her lashes. “Perhaps we were meant to find our paths together. I know that I believe in destiny. Perhaps…this is it.”
She bit her lip and sighed heavily. “I know I sound like I’m utterly crazy, and I’m sorry…I suppose…I just read too many books. Romances, you know. And…Wow. Now I just sound even…” Squeezing the hand that still held hers, the corrupt smiled ruefully. “You must think I’m insane now…but…you have to know that you’re kind of really handsome. Your eyes…are prettier than a movie star’s.” A light pink flush crossed her face at her own words and she quickly looked away.

Her smile, to him, was charming. Sweet, kind. He could only smile in return, gentle and warm. In a sense, he felt as if he were handling a doe. Curious and gentle, but something that could be potentially spooked and vanish into the night if he moved too quickly or boldly.
The idea that they might be able to find their paths together, that such a thing was meant to be... there was no denying the color that began to bloom over the male's cheeks, his gaze flickering from her to the ground almost bashfully. But he didn't release her hand. "That is... well." He cleared his throat, laughing a bit as she began to apologize. "No, no. You do not sound insane-- a-ah!" Lich's eyes flickered back to her as she gave him such a compliment, and his ego puffed up a bit despite himself.
"You are much too kind," he managed, his blush darkening slightly. "Much too sweet to be the sort of enemy as the Negaverse has been painted. Perhaps this meeting will be a spark of something greater. Who can ever say what may yet come?"
Certainly, he couldn't foresee any reason to regret such a meeting.

“Then I hope to see you again soon…” Periclase glanced up at him from under her lashes and could have laughed. Wanted to laugh. Boys were so easy to toy with…this was fun.
She enjoyed the fact that he still held her hand and gave it a light squeeze before pulling her own away and taking a few steps back. “Well…I’m glad you think that way, I hope that we’re not so awful as you think…and you…you’re nothing like what I was told of the senshi so…I’m happy about that too…I’m sure if you had been…my blood would have been splattered everywhere and I wouldn’t have lived through the night…”
Peri gave an almost nervous sounding laugh and took another step backwards. “I…I should go now though, you’re wonderful…and sweet but what if another one of your kind comes out…I shouldn’t have gone out on my own regardless and…” She took yet another step backwards and flashed a smile that seemed much sadder than it did happy. “I hope I get to see you again…”
Her words faded to just above a whisper and she glanced around, clearly uncomfortable. “Thank you for speaking with me…”
