Physical Description: 6'1" tall with a lean build and no spare flesh. W'lys is one of those people who could pass for either sex with only a little alteration in clothing. She has darkly tan skin, short cropped silver hair and warm, cinnamon brown eyes. And though the cruel might say she has wrinkles on her thin, hawkish face, W'lys prefers to call them smile and laugh lines. Because she tends to smile a lot, showing off white, horselike teeth.
Personality: W'lys sees the world in almost pure black and white. Almost. The only thing that saves her from pedantry (and thus her weyrmates) is an inate sense of gentle diplomacy combined with the fact that she never stops looking and listening and noticing tiny details in the world around her. It's hard to see only in black and white when you observe all the things that shove life firmly into the grey day in and day out. W'lys is also known for being ready to give you the tunic from her back should you need it. Or perhaps you need to be somewhere right away? W'lys will round up Harunath and get you there in a blink! She's constantly sneaking scraps or sweets to give to the firelizards or children. She enjoys giving everyone what she can and never once complains.
Of course, there are the times when she will focus on a single detail or idea to the point of losing track of all else. Or the times when she will lock herself away in her weyr when she becomes too anxious and is unable to cope rationally with whatever has set her off. Unfortunately, she isn't always able to do that and when this happens, she simply... reacts. All her skill at observation and knowing just what to say or how to act fly out the window and one is left with a W'lys who is prone to reacts to the wildest rumor as if it could be fact and spends the entire time worrying and panicking until you're able to get through and calm her down.

History: Born in Western to a woman of the lower caverns and one of the weyr riders (W'lys could never get her mother to answer when asked), Wenlys was a very typical weyrbrat. She played in the caverns helped with chores and dreamed of the day she might Impress.
Of course, that day came much later than she would have hoped. She began standing on the grounds at 14 and watched as most of her friends all Impressed before her. By the time she reached 17 turns, Wenlys was close to giving up hope. Of course, she had Trundler, but firelizards just aren't the same as dragons. The next Impression, Wenlys had her dreams realized. Blue Harunath hatched and chose her. After that wonderful day, W'lys settled in to weyrling training and simply focused on becoming a fully functioning pair with her dragon. She and Harunath graduated training and became competent wingriders. Of course, without there being Thread to worry about, the pair had to find something to so.
For about four Turns, the pair acted as caravan guards for some of the trader trains since bandits and feline attacks were always a possibility. In that time, one of the traders taught W'lys how to carve small rocks and bits of wood to make pretty little trinkets. When the pair's guard contract was up, they decided to travel over the Southern Continent, wanting to see some of the more famous places mentioned in the history records. And while Harunath was loath to leave the beaches of Cove Hold and Southern, W'lys eventually returned to Western. And she brought so many things back with her to carve and decorate and give away (or sell).
Upon return to the Weyr, W'lys took to fostering children, teaching them how to carve and encouraging them to study and learn as much as possible. For the next decade-ish, W'lys and Harunath were happy enough to foster children, sell or barter the small thing W'lys made and occasionally disappear into the wilderness to explore.
And then Thread came back.
The pair were lucky during the chaos of the first few Falls and escaped with very little injury, though Harunath has some minor scoring along his rump. Unfortunately, two of W'lys' darling fosterlings were not so lucky and were fatally scored in the first new Fall when they were out of the Weyr hunting. W'lys and Harunath are still grieving and though it hasn't made the rider any less generous or caring of her remaining fosterlings, there is a sadness and simmering anger within her now. Thread was supposed to be gone forever! Still, she and Harunath are dragonriders and dragonriders have a duty to fight Thread.
W'lys and Harunath are determined to do their duty and do it well. Even if every Fall since is a stark reminder of the people and freedom she's lost.
Other: W'lys owns a single firelizard, Trundler, who is extraordinarily bossy for a little blue.

Age: 20
Color: Blue
Size: 31'
Physical Description: One of the larger blues, Harunath is quite muscular and stocky. And extremely lacking in graceful movement when on the ground. In the air, however, his grace returns and he's strong enough to fly a full Fall. In general, Harunath is a strong flier and delights in aerobatics.
Personality: Harunath practically exudes calm confidence. Nothing ruffles his composure or rattles in faith in his rider, clutchmates, friends or the Weyrleaders. As such, he tries to be something of an arbiter for the other dragons, seeking to bolster their faith with his own. He also has a fair grasp of one or two abstract concepts.
While by no means able to understand everything, Harunath tries his hardest to learn what he can so that he can be as useful as possible. Unfortunately, this also means that Harunath has more than a bit of a know-it-all streak and no concept of when to not get all up in the other dragons' business. He's so certain that he knows best that he's been threatened with flaming, biting and clawing. And that's just from the greens, other blues and browns. Harunath might think he knows best, but he still has respect for the bronzes and golds and would never think to advise them.
His tendency to arbitrate and expound, however, is extremely useful and welcome when W'lys is in the middle of a panic or anxiety attack. Harunath might be confused at his rider's off behavior, but recognizes that at these times, W'lys needs his calm and confidence to help her stay centered.

Hey Daisy! So this gal is 99% approved. I was just wondering if you could fluff out her history a smidge more? Given she's 37 Turns old, her history just seems a bit sparse.
Some things to consider!
1. Did she ever have a craft or a way to make marks? Threadfall didn't come back until a little over a Turn ago in EoP. So for almost 19 Turns what was Harunath and she up to? While she might have stayed in the Weyr, they weren't preparing for Fall or dong anything hardcore like High Reaches. They weren't really getting tithes, and they probably weren't getting paid to be a rider short of commissioning pickups or dropoffs, etc. Did she study a craft in her spare time? Did she skirt by on bare minimum? Did she travel at all?
2. Since she's been fighting Thread for about a Turn -- does she like it? Has she or her dragon been hurt n that time? Have they lost friends, family, lovers?
3. Does she have any friends, family, or lovers? LOL Any kids in the creche? Any exes?
I think if you just add a little bit of that, she'll be perfect and I can stamp approval!
