Amie had been having such a hard time in her classes. She was barely passing any of them. She didn't know what it was. There were a huge partner compare and contrast research paper that was the make or break assignment for her. She had to get an A on this paper. Of course, when it came to choosing partners the juniors in her class quickly split up and left her sitting by herself. She panicky looked around for a partner god forbid she was that kid that got the teacher as a partner. Looking around quickly she made eye contact with another Junior across the room. She hurried over to their desk. "Please tell me you don't have a partner." she pleaded with her eyes. She needed this to work, because if the teacher was her partner she'd have to most if not all of the work.

Archimedes blinked as he looked at the panicked hybrid standing before him, he hadn't been worried about the assignment often he was able to do his school work by himself if he got left out of a group, he didn't mind. "Umm no I don't but.." He looked at their face and he sighed he didn't want to be nasty he just didn't like getting close to others. It was just a school project though so it wasn't really that big a deal. "Ok where do you want to start?" Arch asked ready to get this done so he could go work on his carvings.

Amie gave a coy smile as the other admitted that he was partnerless, she quickly stuck her hand out formally. "Amie." She looked nervously at the other one not wanting to admit that she had no real idea what the assignment really was about. She didn't ever really pay attention in class. " Well what ideas do you have?" she hoped if she kept it vague the other wouldn't know that she hadn't been paying attention. This was why she was failing this class practically. Why she was failing most of her classes. It didn't help she was considered socially inept, whether that was due to her traumatic childhood or the fact she made a conscious decision to avoid everyone. Given the choice though between another unsuspecting junior or having to deal with the teacher she'd take a junior hopefully she could get them to do most of the work.

With a gruff grumbled Arch accepted Amie as his partner, he really didn't care if they did the project with him or let him do most of the work since he normally did most of the class work by himself. Archimedes had stopped trusting others the day his parents and one sibling had left behind him and his sister was the day the Arch had stopped trusting pretty much everyone. Archimedes gruffly said "I'm Archimedes and I guess we can do our paper on imp history since we are both part imp." Arch opened the text book and started writing notes about imp history for their paper.

Amie nodded at the others suggested. She watched them open the text book and quickly realized she didn't have hers with her. "Can we share text books? I think mine must be in my dorm. My Fennikit is always hiding things from me." Sometimes the little furball gave her a lot of grief, and other times she wouldn't trade her one companion for anything. Farah was all Amie really had. The only one that had stuck with her through everything. She scooched her seat close to the imp hybrid next to her, perhaps a bit too close. She really didn't know anything about Imp history, since she had never met either of her birth parents, she hadn't had any customs or cultures passed down to her.

Arch sighed really they didn't have their own book, he sighed and was uncomfortable with them being so close, but didn't say anything. He pointed to the section in the text book about imp history and he wrote down some more notes explaining to Amie about the different parts of imp history as he went along working on the project as he went. Not that Amie was going to be much help with this project clearly. "Are you able to draw or cut out pictures or something, maybe you could make a cover page or a poster board piece for the presentation."

Amie looked over to him, "You sure know a lot, is it just from what you read or did your parents tell you stuff?" She looked down when asking the question the talk of parents made her uncomfortable. She assumed he had parents because he seemed a lot smarter than her. Though with the vast population of orphans it may be an insensitive question she didn't really care though. Others feelings really had little meaning to her. "Uh... yeah I guess I can do that. Where am I supposed to get the pictures?" she realized she sounded so stupid, and maybe she was. Afterall she was failing most of her classes.

Archimedes frowned and got up "I'll email you the details of the rest of the project I gotta go." Arch said sharply it wasn't Amie's fault that they had touched on a sore subject but Arch hated talking about his parents to anyone but Avalon. He didn't even like talking about the subject with his own sister, or adopted parents. Arch stood up and before heading for the door he wrote down the name of a website that had pictures of historical imp figures on it. "If you have trouble email me." Then he turned to head for the door.

Amie narrowed her eyes at the imp as they stood up and began to leave completely ignoring her question. "You're an a**. Don't bother emailing me, I'll get my part done and bring it on Monday you better have yours. It better be perfect. She took the piece of paper he had written the site on and balled it up tossing it as his back as he walked out. She quickly packed up her things and lefts swiftly still steaming over the fact she had tried to open up and was once again rejected. That was all she would ever be. midnightglow18 Sorry for her short fuse XD

Arch wasn't going to explain himself to this being he had his reasons for being the way he was and he wasn't planning on explaining them to Amie especially if she called him an a**. Archimedes hated talking about his parents and he did for any reason short of gun point want to talk about it where other students could hear. It was bad enough he had lost it in front of a senior but Avalon was special and the only one who knew how Arch truly felt about what happened to his family and his abandonment issues. He left the classroom without looking back, he didn't care if they got a D he would do the project the best he could by himself on his end. (Lol no big Amie didn't know parents were Arch's hot button) (Fin or did you want one more post?)
