Aiori looks for all the world like a small, fragile thing - but hers is a startling (and precise) strength. Her delicate beauty has certainly attracted would-be clients and curious bystanders in the past, but she has adapted to her new trade and can appear to be no one at all should her mistress require it.
In her life at the Weyr, she has fumbled a little ... not being entirely sure how she feels about all of the *ahem* dirt that accompanies the care of dragons.
Personality:
Rightly described as an emotionless automaton doll in a casual encounter, Aiori does not appear to possess thoughts or feelings of her own. Her actions are mechanically precise, and she does not offer thought or criticism.... nor even an opinion.
Descriptions, however, are only skin deep. Beneath her icy facade, Aiori does in fact have thoughts and feelings of her own, she has just been conditioned to keep them strictly to herself. Ironically, this unquestionable loyalty is uniquely hers, a trait she comes by naturally and was exploited by her early handlers and Ieya. Aiori lives and breathes for the Madam of the Floating World, and she does not regret a single moment of it. To her, the ends are always worth the means, and she does not question her orders because to question orders is to question her loyalty ... and Aiori does not question herself. Her motives are self-serving because to her, serving Ieya is akin to serving herself. Guarding the Madam is both her right and her privilege, and she is fiercely protective of her position at Ieya's back.
She is fully aware that she was sold into the slave trade for her pale hair, pale skin, and startling eyes... and she is surprisingly unashamed of it. Such coloration allowed for Ieya's eyes to alight upon her, and she was purchased for it. If Ieya was surprised by the depth of loyalty that came with the girl, she has kept such thoughts to herself, expressing only pleasure and kind regard to Aiori. A gilded leash, but a leash all the same.
Customers, what few Aioori did see, were apt to demand refunds and never come back. This was in part due to her inability to lie convincingly (or even at all) making Aiori a poor courtesan who was removed rather quickly from the rank and file ladies and gents. This lack has been carefully managed by Ieya for reasons known only to herself, but Aiori has emerged more or less with little to no tact and a flair for stating the obvious when she is asked direct questions. She has since developed a knack for saying nothing at all, appearing for all the planet Pern to be living in a world all her own, but when her attention is on you...
You feel it.
There is a subtle intensity about her when she does speak about Ieya and her life. Though trained to disclose nothing of note, she is free to talk about her life as a courtesan and her early training in the arts. She is a skilled dancer and writer, often composing short haiku-type poems for her mistress (which are proudly framed and line Ieya's hallways) and her cover as a courtesan is not totally staged. She is quite clearly of the artist type, with many mistaking her frigid silence as a poet's reticence, and she will on occasion perform for her Madam and their Lord when called upon to do so. She lacks the fire of her craft to be a star, however, but she is certainly not a slouch.
To those who manage to win her loyalty - and who are not Madam Ieya - Aiori is a quietly powerful ally and friend. She does not sugar coat anything, and has been known to deliver stinging rebuttals when really a friendly shoulder would do, but she does it because she cares. She knows the world isn't kind, and isn't shy about reminding her friends of that inescapable fact. She'll help when she can, though her attempts at social forms of 'help' can be quite comical. She's far too straight forward and straight-laced for the subtle nuances of social interaction.
Positive Trait List Loyal, perfectionist, organized, proud
Negative Trait List Mechanical, uncompromising, cold
History:
Born to an unknown set of parents, her unusual coloration quickly got her noticed by the worst sort of people. Whether by chance or design, she was brought to the attention of a master of the courtesan hall known for sometimes trading coin and services for ... unusual merchandise.
From there, Aiori began her 'real life' as she calls it, or life in service of her Madam. She took to the physical aspects of the courtesan trade effortlessly - be it dancing or daggers, and through diligent study she mastered the rest of the tasks her master put to her. Over time, she was trained in shadier aspects of the craft - dirty work like assassination and sabotage - but she didn't think much of it. All of her tasks were completed to specification, because Madam Ieya demanded perfection.
It was pure chance that something out of the ordinary happened - the passing whim of a blue dragon and the thoughtful encouragement from her master to seek the opportunity of the Weyr given the return of Thread... with the unspoken understanding that she would always be Ieya's.
Other:
One of Ieya's most highly prized 'dolls,' AIori is a highly skilled assassin and guard. What she may lack in physical power she makes up for in technical skill and finesse. You will die beautifully by her hands.
Candidate Specific Questions
Do you want them to have an official Search RP? Yes or No
Do you understand they will age every passing year regardless if you're there to RP the or not? Yes or No
Do you want them to have a possible Stands Impression? Yes or No
- - - > Please keep in mind that Stands Impressions are very rare. This means that not everybody will get an opportunity to have a surprise Impression, and you lower your chances of being picked by a dragonet. Given the character is not ICly an official Candidate, they will need a reason to be at the Weyr of their choice long-term, or at least for every Hatching.
