"You would not believe your eyes, if ten million fireflies, lit up the night as they said fareeewellll~" The little sage laughed to herself as she stood in the middle of a field with her hands splayed in front of her, palms up. The sages had many areas in which they cultivated swarms of different insects and this was one of the most gentle, most popular, of those areas. Unfortunately for the other clans the only ones that were allowed near them were other sages.
Sometimes, sometimes, they would let other Famine clan members into the midst of their work to appreciate and learn more about it. But more often than not they were almost ferally protective of it. Tonight Cami was in a vast swarm of fireflies that glowed in tandem, their little thoraxes letting off quiet bioluminescence. They were everywhere and she could almost breathe them in quite literally.
The song she sung was one that had been learned during her work in the human realms and it was one that amused her to no end. As a budding sage herself Cami was allowed to walk among the swarms, to learn from them, to become a part of them. Noth's tapeworms were generally avoided and for reasons that were quite obvious the young Famine girl didn't much bother with spiders. Her Starweaver sister was protective and jealous; it was always best not to stir that hornet's nest, so to speak.
But the fireflies belonged to all of them and could make even the crankiest, most anti-social of them smile. As she stood with her arms spread around her the little creatures came to land upon her so that Camixi was a being made of tiny wings and light that shone against her dusky skin, tickling her, a girl of pure delight and little else.
She was made of ten million fireflies. What more could anyone want from life?
