Thisbe was more than glad that he'd followed after her as she'd taken to the fire escape, flashing him a grin as they paused a few blocks away from the scene of the attack. "Wasn't sure I'd see you again, stranger. Thought you might have fallen off the face of this godforsaken rock." She snorted softly as she shook her head before quickly closing the distance between them to catch him in a hug.

"God, I'm glad you're back. Or not dead. Or whatever it is that you are. Do you have any idea just how boring this city is? Birdie doesn't do anything but brood and there's not really much trouble I can dig up on my own. The Negas have gotten more fighty... You'd think that meant they thought they had an advantage or something."

"Not dead, corrupted, youmafied or any other number of the nasty things that could have happened to me. I've mostly been lying low, doing a great disservice to all things Order." She rolled her eyes as she rocked back on her heels, letting him have a bit of his space back.

"Birdie was off grid for a while and it's not like I've gone out of my way to make more friends to fight the good fight with. I happen to like being alive and things have just been... Strange. Yeah, I guess I could have taken advantage of it, but you saw tonight. Last guy I fought? Attacked me with a trowel. Could have done some serious damage." Damage that would have been difficult to explain to her parents when the hospital bills came through if it had been any worse. Damage that she wouldn't have been able to explain to her sister in a way that wouldn't have been suspicious.

"You got out of here, though? Explains a lot. Why did you come back?"

"I tend to wonder if a lot of this is worth it." Thisbe snorted, making a broad gesture at everything enveloped in the night. "Then I think about how much a younger me would have been over the moon at the idea of being a real life super hero and I feel like I'm wasting opportunities. I don't want to be a wasted opportunity."

She was going to be twenty-five years old soon. A quarter of a century-- Old enough to know better about most things, too young to die because she had done something stupid. "There aren't enough familiar faces, as far as I'm concerned. I could probably list all of them off while counting along with one hand. That's a problem, Arachne."

"Decking familiar faces?" Her brow quirked. "Is that a story for rooftops or is that something we should be getting coffee to go along with? Because it sounds a little bit more like a coffee story than a standing around story." There was weight to Arachne's words despite his usual easygoing nature; a lingering trace of something she couldn't exactly put her finger on.

"If you don't have any plans tonight we could head back to my place and reminisce?"

"Well, I have moved since the last time you crashed at my place, so you can judge my slightly smaller place all you'd like." She flashed him a grin as she headed towards the edge of the rooftop, peering down at the alley below to judge the distance before dropping down. Thisbe dusted herself off upon landing, pausing long enough to feel around for any other auras before powering herself down, more than ready to just be 'Abby' again.

"Sweetheart, if you hadn't noticed you're the only one who's gotten any sort of upgrade. I haven't put in enough work anywhere to have leveled up." She laughed, slipping her arm through his as she lead him out of the alley and out onto the street.

While she'd gotten better with telling just where she was in town from the rooftops she had ventured a little ways off of her usual path that night. It took drawing out her phone and confirming her location with the map ap she left on her main menu to steer them in the right direction back to her place.

"Honestly? I think the new flat is nicer, overall, I just didn't have any use for a second bedroom and now it's not eating away as much of my school money as it could be." Considering at this rate she was entirely likely to become a permanent student...

"We've talked about it on and off over the past few years. It seemed like a good idea and she'd looked into transferring credits a few years back, but... Things got complicated. She's already put in a lot of work where she's at and if some of the courses don't swap over right she's back at square one." If it was an excuse it was a least a good one-- better than 'Destiny City is just too ******** dangerous' without any sort of other explanation, at least.

"Lys has joined the job force? It's got to be something good to support that shopping habit of yours." She laughed, shaking her head as they rounded the corner towards a slightly more residential area closer to DCUs main campus.
