((ooc: Just for funsies. Prompt: Disaster, Pokemon AU, Already Dead/Ghost.))
The tall grass rustled, which should normally mean Petro would prepare for a battle. But there haven't been any battles. At least, not in the way they used to be held. What was once fields ripe with pokemon encounters were now barren. Rustling grass now just meant rustling grass at best.
A pained, distorted growl.
But at worst?
Petro was already running even before an eye stalk peeked between the blades. His pokemon were exhausted and without any working hospital equipment, his team needed at least a day's worth of rest to recover just enough to continue survival.

A scent filled the air as a tall woman walked through the grass, her body swaying as a lavender and fuscia bird-like pokemon flitted forward and sent the other pokemon to sleep.
She glanced up at Petro, raising an arm to greet them, not running, but walking slowly.
Saya had two other pokemon near her -- an Espurr, and a ghostly Haunter, to add to the trio of three with Aromatisse.
The Espurr didn't move as it stared at Petro with wide, unblinking eyes.

"I don't got much on me, you won't get anything battling me." Was the first things out of Petro's mouth. He wasn't lying. He was low on food for both himself and his pokemon, the few berries he had was just enough to last him a day. Money had lost meaning ever since the disaster at Devon Corporation threw the world into chaos. It was a struggle just to survive nowadays.

"I'm Saya," She spoke with a nod to the other, breathing in as she frowned. "I wasn't helping to get the jump on you. You looked like you needed help."
Rubbing her head, she gave a sad smile, glancing over him. "My lovely Aromatisse can heal your pokemon, if you wish."

Petro narrowed his eyes in suspicion at the offer to heal, "Uh huh, and what's the catch?" His clothing did a good job of hiding the scars he'd gotten from lowering his guard and his pokemon themselves looked like they'd seen better days.
Saya would have to excuse his lack of trust and that he had not quite given her his name.
