If only. Waking had shattered the dream of a happier life with purpose, friends, loved ones. Had Yaya been aware of it, as she'd blinked away green after images from glowing blue eyes, she might have been envious of it. Her own life, lately, leaving much to be desired. It was fortunate, or unfortunate perhaps, that she didn't know how content the hunter that stood before her was. Problems, yes, but over all quite happy. "Who are you?" It was low, the first stirrings of cold fury coloring her voice. " You don't need to know." Haughty, defiant. Yaya smiled, her hands rising from her sides as water began to drip from the tips of slender fingers. "You're right, I really don't. You won't be anyone, soon." Just another dead hunter. All at once the battle was on. The sharp tail of a whip was snapping across Yaya's thigh, dragging a pained, furious howl from dark lips, and in response the water flowed. Streams of it pouring from her hands, pooling at her feet, dancing around her henna kissed legs, and at a thought and the flick of scar circled wrist it rushed at the hunter in a rolling wave that sent her crashing to the ground with force enough to bounce the back of her head off the floor. "I'll kill you!"
She hated hunters. Disgusting, murderous vermin. They had caused so much pain in her life, and she wanted nothing more than to make them suffer in kind.
Haddy, forcing wet hair from her eyes, was rolling back to her feet, the tail of the whip coiling at her ankles. Another swing of her arm, and the length of rune glowing cord spun around the slender pillar of the djinn's throat, driving her to her knees as the hunter yanked her forward. "You'll try!"
One hand at her throat, her own nails digging into dark skin as she fought to keep the whip from tightening further, Yaya flung the other forward, fingers extending, and the wealth of water around her converged, snaking up and around the slender figure to fight against the tension in her arm.

The whip loosened by inches, giving Yaya a finger hold to drag the rope away from her neck, and the first breath that followed was loud and rough. She coughed, trying to clear the soreness from her throat, but nothing short of Fear healing or time would help.
"You b***h." Another cough, but she was back on bare feet again, and advancing, despite the painful, skin splitting snap of the whip against her hip, her arm, and her side of her calf. She was bleeding, and she didn't care. Every injury, every ounce of pain only fueled her rage further, and bright eyes were a swirling maelstrom of blue kissed green. Like the crushing waves of the sea just before the heavens above split open to drown the world.
I will drown you.
Both hands out before her, she stalked forward, and where she moved the water collected. Twisting and climbing the long lines of her legs until she was floating under her own magic.
And she threw it all at the whip wielding hunter. A tidal wave of roaring water to drag her down and hold her under like the currents of a riptide.

A kick to the shin lost the djinn her concentration, and as she faltered, dropping to the ground again, the hunter fought free of the crushing waves the ghoul had been trapping her with.
"Monster!" All sense seemed to be leaving the pair of them, because Haddy just surged forward, tackling the demon around the middle and riding her to the ground. The cord of the whip was around her neck again, squeezing.

She was starting to black out, darkness eating at the edges of her vision until it was nearly gone, and her entire body felt heavy and unresponsive. She was going to lose this. She was actually...
"No!" It was strangled, broken and gasped, but it came with a flexing of will so powerful it brought the water around to slam into the hunters back like a wrecking ball, knocking her head over heels into the wall.
Gasping, Yaya pushed to her hands and knees, her throat lined with red bruising. "Die," she croaked, Pointing one open palm at the downed hunter, and watched as the water surged together, forming a ball around the woman's head. There was no escape now, only the inevitability of death.
Yaya just had to wait until those struggling limbs stopped moving...

It was over, finally.
As the hunter lay motionless on the floor the water that had sealed he fate fell away from her, returning to it's mistress as she struggled to breath past the bruising in her throat. Jack, it hurt. Every breath was a struggle. She needed to get out of here, but she couldn't do that in this state.
She needed help. And she could provide it herself.
Eyes glowing brighter, the color darkening into a deep blue, she lay her hands in the water pooling beneath her as she sat back on her heels. Forcing her own Fear into it. Bending it further, infusing it. Where it touched, climbing up her arms, the coolness of a healing balm. Restoring, repairing. As it reached her throat she drew in a full, easy breath before releasing it in a relieved sigh. Not perfect, but better.
