So this section is going to be organized a wee bit different, since for some sections I'm going to be exploring specific aspects of Deimos and Phrixos' personalities and for other sections it's just more efficient to talk about them as a duo, since they're very close. I'm going to have the specific things up top and the mixed stuff at the bottom.
Deimos:
Personality:
Deimos is an a**. There's really no other way to put it. He's vain, blunt, picks at the flaws of others, and doesn't stop until he's proven his point come hell or high water. Of course sometimes there isn't really a point to his tormenting except that he's just bored. He frequently twists words and logic around to suit his own whims and is entirely unapologetic. It's almost impossible to beat Deimos as his own game, not because he's some kind of super-amazing-ultra-cleverpants (though he has his moments), but because for all his vanity he's also very self-aware of his flaws. He knows who he is, the good and the bad, so it's very hard to fluster or frustrate him. There is always the potential for reaping consequences, of course, but Deimos is quite adaptable and loves the thought of a challenge.
If you're willing to sift pass the sass, arrogance, and occasional insult, Deimos is actually full of pretty good advice. It comes from a combination of his own self awareness and good observational skills. He has little patience for whiners or those who try to pin their problems on others, and will let them know this without any attempt at a tactful presentation. It's not that he's out looking for fights or to start up an advice column, he's just very opinionated and can't be troubled to keep his voice down. Perhaps the only good thing that could be said about this trait of his is that he's not malicious about it, that he actually addresses points that are brought up and counters them with logical arguments of his own, rather than resorting to insults or slander.
For all his bravado and confidence, Deimos feels disconnected most of the time. He has very few people he actually feels close to, and though he does try to make other connections it seems inevitable that he'll get bored and just drift away. This may be the main reason he's so acerbic and tactless, partially because he doesn't care about anyone enough to blunt his words and partially because it's what makes him feel most alive. There's a strange sort of fragility to Deimos, an internal loneliness and longing for affection so deeply buried that few would guess at its existence, but so strong that those who know those feelings are there can see how much of a key aspect they are to Deimos' personality. While not even the closest people to Deimos find exemption from his taunting and teasing, those who do managed to make their way into his heart find he is loyal, considerate, vulnerable, and even sweet. Like one of those gourmet caramels coated in salt, you have to brave the outer coating to find the sweetness inside, and discover the two flavors can be surprisingly complementary.

Phrixos:
Personality:
Phrixos is a private person. He can be adequately sociable in group settings, but he doesn't like to talk about himself. The more a person tries to pry the more Phrixos shuts them down. Some people make such nuisances of themselves that he cuts off contact altogether, since it's easier than constantly having to fend off a bevy of questions. It could be that some of the problem stems from Phrixos' very desire for privacy, ironically enough. He's the master of neutral, in posture, expressions, and tone, so it's not always obvious whether he's bored, irritated, or interested. He tried to be a bit more vocal in his youth and would tell people when he didn't want to talk about particular subjects, but since that only seemed to elicit around round of inquiries ( "Why don't you want to talk about this?" ) , he gave the entire thing up as pointless and opted for stony silences.
His reticence to discuss his personal life can give others the impression that Phrixos is a bit of a hermit, so it can come as a surprise to discover that Phrixos not only has the inclination to socialize, but can be quite involved and supportive as well. He's a natural team player and does well in groups, which seem to bring out his instincts to protect and nurture. The strength of these instincts directly correlate to his level of involvement, be it with groups or individuals. His twin once joked that feathers would have suited Phrixos more than scales, on account that he was a giant mother hen. Certainly Phrixos can be quite protective over his "brood", though when it comes to emotional crises he is way out of his depth and will readily flee at the first available moment.
Though he can seem so aloof and distant, Phrixos cares deeply. He's not a white knight or bleeding heart, but it is almost physically painful for him to watch any kind of injustice or bullying taking place in front of him and not do something about it. He internally struggles, always wanting to help but not wanting people to become too dependent on him to bail them out. His possessive and protective instincts make this struggle all the harder for him, which is part of the reason why he tries to hold "himself" back, instinctively seeking to lessen pain by limiting the amount of strong connections he makes. Even without being considered "special" to him, Phrixos is a steadfast and cool-headed individual with an excellent track record of competence and reliability.
