Quote: [ JOB LISTING ] Errand runner [ DIFFICULTY LEVEL ] gaia_star
[ TASK ] The simplest and also in some ways the most demeaning job in the office sector, errand runners often end up being sent to make drinks, collect food and generally find people who aren't at their desk. When they aren't being sent here and there sometimes they get to do some basic processing of information but this is rare. Mostly they are stuck running all over the office and sometimes down to the warehouses.
It's a living and every job contributes to the Horseman family!
[ MECHANICS ] Roll 1d6 twice, each roll is half the day.
You are sent to make a variety of drinks for half the office. Being horsemen these range from elaborate teas for the conquest traditionalists to strange concoctions for war. It takes absolutely ages. You are sent on a run down to the warehouse to find out an update on one of the ongoing projects. Finding the head engineer is a task in itself and eats up half your time. Things are quiet for a change and you get some time to look over the social networks the company monitors but you don't need to do anything major, it's someone else's problem Everyone wants breakfast/lunch so its time to go out to the nearby shops to get every single horseman's order of food, it takes for ever. The water cooler is broken and you get stuck trying to fix it. Sent over to Tyr's office to tell him a message you get praised for your hard work and he says he's heard about your efforts to the company. Feel free to quote Baneful if you want a proper rped discussion or stop by his office.

After everything else he'd been doing lately these job seemed terribly demeaning. Zyk found himself rather irritated that he'd been assigned to it, and eager t just get it done and over with. Maybe it was arrogance speaking, or Ego, but he was fairly certain his talents as an alchemist, as well as his performances in the other jobs for Pale Horse, should have excluded him from this sort of thing.
Apparently not.
He was especially annoyed when his first task for the morning was to get breakfast. For the entire office.
Trying to mask his general disdain for this and them, Zyk went from cubicle to cubicle collecting orders and making a list. Then he had to find a phone so he could call the order in.
He supposed it was fortunate that he didn't have to wait long for the order to be completed. By the time he'd arrived it was ready and waiting for him to bring it back to the office. A bag on each arm, and a drink carrier balanced on both palm, he made his slow way back, and then up again.

It had taken almost forty minutes to pass out all the food to everyone and Zyk's mood had not improved one bit. If anything, he was even more irritated about being there.

This time Zyk really wasn't all that surprised to hear that Tyr wanted to see him in his office. Despite his low mood, the famine was still doing everything tasked to him quickly and efficiently. When that was paired with his over all satisfactory work up to this point, it made sense.
He made his way up to the top floor, knocked on Tyr's office door, and let himself in at the call that came from within. Smiling politely, he greeted the owner before taking a seat before his desk.
He sat quietly as Tyr explained why Zyk was there. That he had shown a lot of promise and ambition. twenty minutes worth of praise and ego stroking that came as a nice contrast to the ridiculousness that was his morning the giant breakfast order he'd been forced to procure.
When it was all said and done he'd thank the other man, shake his hand, and resume his duties as errand runner for the duration of the work day.
