The noise was almost grating as Jin rolled over to his opposite side on the bed stuffing a pillow over his head as Jacob’s phone continued its incessant ringing. His own phone was jammed between the mattress and another layer of pillows as it gave some faint sign of vibrating. After a few more struggling minutes he gave up on attempting to nap at all and picked up his phone to scroll through the messages. So far junk, useless spam that made him wonder why Jin had bothered to keep the damn thing around anyways until he reached the end.

It was like a sinking feeling, as if he was slowly drowning as memories started to fill his mind cramming every space that they could. Horseman. Famine. Insects. It was like ice slowly crawling along his skin as Jin sat up, eyes wide as his gazed seemed distant. He was a horseman of the famine clan, his work involved insects, they were like his pets, friends, his years and years of precious research. He wasn't human, far from it, the thought was almost insulting that he could be something so pitiful. The look of surprise was easily replaced with disdain as he looked around to the other two occupants in the room.

We're they also Horseman? Or were they truly human? The question sent a shiver of anger down his spine as his brows knotted. How did he even get there? Was this some sort of test? Mistake? Had the hunters pulled some stunt? The thought of not knowing was slowly starting to eat away at him, the unknown was not something Jin was familiar with let alone being thrusted body and soul into it.

It wasn't until Jacob, if that was his name, spoke that Jin looked at the unnerving smile remembering that he wasn't entirely alone. “Amityville is the school isn't it? The one where the Halloween kids cultivate some sort of form of knowledge under the pitiful teachings of others?”
