Story Dice Game Rules
The object of this game is to tell a complete story every day. Each story must have at least one of each of the following elements:
Title (Well, we won't worry about this too much) Setting: Time and Place (d4s) Protagonist (d6s) Antagonist (d8s) Conflict or problem (d10) Climax (d12) Ending or moral (d20)
Roll one of the dice each post, using the dice indicated. Then wait the number of minutes equal to the number you rolled x 4. Handy multiplication chart for people like me who find math hard:
1 x 4 = 4 2 x 4 = 8 3 x 4 = 12 4 x 4 = 16 5 x 4 = 20 6 x 4 = 24 7 x 4 = 28 8 x 4 = 32 9 x 4 = 36 10 x 4 = 40 11 x 4 = 44 12 x 4 = 48
Setting: You need to roll a d4 (that is one of the 4-sided dice) and then post again (after waiting the correct number of minutes) to match it. Because a setting needs both a time and a place (Once upon a time, in a land far away...), you must keep rolling until you roll the same number twice in a row. Protagonist: Same thing, only this time you are rolling d6 (one of the 6-sided dice) each time. Because most people have a first and last name, you need to roll the same number twice in a row. Keep track of the number you matched here for use later in the game. You can keep working on this after you match two rolls if you want to spend time to get a lower number match for later use. Antagonist: Same thing, only this time you are rolling d8 (one of the 8-sided dice) each time. Again, because most people have a first and last name, you need to roll the same number twice in a row. You'll notice the wait times are getting longer probably, too. Keep track of the number you matched here as well. Conflict or problem: You need to roll a d10 and get at least one more than the number you matched for the Protagonist. Example: if you rolled two 4's in a row to get the Protagonist, a roll of 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9 meets this story requirement. If you rolled two 6's, only 7, 8, or 9 work. Climax: You need to roll a d12 and roll the same or more than the number you rolled for the Antagonist. Ending or moral: You need to roll a d20 and get 18, 19, or 20 to finish the story. However, unlike all the other wait times, you only need to wait the same number of minutes as you rolled between posts (instead of 4 times that number for all the other parts).
You may only 'write' up to three of these stories per day. If you didn't finish your story yesterday, you can pick up where you left off today to finish it instead of starting over. However, you may only finish up to three stories per day.
5 individual points (that also help your team) for every story you finish, and 1 point for every day you started a story but did not finish it. 20 points to the person with the most points for the event and 15 points to the person with the second-most points for the event and 10 points to the person with the third-most points for the event.

1. You can roll dice for the dice game at the same time you play this game.
2. When you post, at the TOP of your post include a word or phrase that the previous word/phrase posted makes you think of first. It doesn't matter who made the previous post (even yourself!), just go on. You can also use your story dice to inspire your next word/phrase.
3. You can continue to play this game even if you have already finished the dice game for the day. Just roll one of the 100-sided dice to see how long you need to wait between posts. Posts with no dice rolled will not count for your team.
4. At random times of my choosing, each TEAM that posted any new words will get a point, while the team with the most words/phrases posts will get three points FOR THEIR TEAM. These points do not count for individuals, just for the teams.
