[ JOB LISTING ] Loan shark

[ DIFFICULTY LEVEL ] gaia_star gaia_star gaia_star

[ TASK ] It's time to call in some loans - aka the bank's most formidable and infamous task, what they're best known for. Luna - or rather, Luna's assistants - have scheduled you some interviews with people who are behind on their loan payments.

[ MECHANICS ] Roll 1d100 and see how well you've fared. You may have two clients a day.

  • 01 - 15 - The person you've been instructed to speak to is a young teenager who keeps crying everywhere. It's a little flustering to try and talk when someone is sobbing on your shoulder...needless to say. Luna simply hands you a tissue to figure things out, and you have snot on your shoulder. ( fail )

  • 16 - 30 - A set of triplets has arrived to claim their reasoning for being behind on their small business loan. All of them are quite cheerful, but sometimes too much talking gets confusing; fortunately, you can sort through all of their yammering in order to get them to pay a portion back. Luna is satisfied. ( pass )

  • 31 - 45 - Your patron looks so much like someone you know that it throws you off your game for a few seconds. Luna seems to think this is quite normal; maybe it's just one of those weird doppleganger coincidences. Either way, you're comfortable speaking with them. ( pass )

  • 46 - 60 - You spend the appointment reminiscing with an elderly patron who just seemed to want to talk. Luna, although still quiet, seems strangely satisfied with this outcome and gives you one of their rare nods of approval by the end. ( pass )

  • 61 - 75 - You flirt your way to getting a payment with your patron. Or, if you're not good at flirting, you're good at persuading somehow. They flirt back, but alas, it's not meant to be. Still, they're good natured about it, and so are you (hopefully). ( fail )

  • 76 - 90 - Your patron has a puppy that you get completely distracted by - whether in a good way or a bad way, regardless, you completely forget your original goal.( fail )

  • 91 - 100 - You meet with a high profile client who is as smooth as a shark and as cool as a cucumber. Nothing you say and do can ruffle them, but in spite of this, Luna is satisfied when you managed to skillfully get them to repay a portion of their owed money. ( pass )

Ignacio wasn't sure if being a loan shark was really his thing. It seemed too ... mean, or unnecessarily harsh. People came upon troubles; sometimes they legitimately needed more time.

These were the horsemen they were dealing with, though. He was fairly sure the horsemen wouldn't care about what struggles the humans had, even a little bit, because they were generally awful ... not-people.

Sometimes it was easy to forget they weren't people considering how normally they were all currently dressed.

Perhaps he could convince the patron to give him a payment with just a little bit of charm. He flashed a grin at the patron as they sat down, murmuring a little, "Why hello there," in a somewhat flirtatious but honestly a little salacious manner. The customer seemed to respond positively to it, at least at first, throwing a rather eager flirt back at him.

Unfortunately, the other customer was perhaps a little too good at flirting, because quite a bit of rather fun time went by, but in the end, Ignacio ended up getting no payment. Luna the Horsewoman didn't seem particularly amused. Maybe he should try that one again.

Just so he didn't incur horsewoman wrath.

Somehow, despite failing the first time, Ignacio decided that being flirtatious was a good idea and totally a way to get money out of the people he was talking to.

It most definitely was not.

Ignacio was clearly very bad at this loan sharking thing, and the woman who was supposed to be watching over him, the horsewoman, seemed rather unamused. Because he failed. Twice. He would have to note to the other Hunters that Horsewomen hated not getting their money back from their terrible loans...
