The sand was always hot and it always blasted in her face when she portal warped to the Sahara, the winds sapping away any moisture and reducing visibility. At least she had bought a bottle of water and some decent goggles, so the winds and sand wouldn't be as annoying (she'd still be covered in sand a week later though)

Paige stood near the tiny base, the tents flapping in the wind and somehow standing up against the elements. She held up a hand to shield her face, watching for signs of any horsemen lurking about. She had beaten them pretty badly the last time she was here so she doubted they'd show their faces for a while. Or maybe they were waiting for the best moment to get revenge?

It didn't matter, she'd be ready to kick their a** again. Surveying the dry landscape she walked out of the base and felt the full force of the sand storm blowing about. A few curses followed, the sun trying to do her job and patrol the base. It was a pain in the a** but she managed to move about and search the area.

Her weapon offered some advice.

"I know but still. Can't take any chances." She knew they could pop up anywhere and unleash unspeakable cruelty in the form of those insects.

Luckily no such thing happened, and eventually her shift was over. Covered in sand, Paige headed back to the main base for a nice long shower.
