Physical Description: Tia has short, straight hair that is quite fine. Not quite black, but on its way there, it stops just above her shoulders, and she usually has no bangs. She has dark blue eyes, a wide button nose and olivey skin.
Personality: Tia is a pretty melancholy kid, there's no denying it. Very empathetic, she'd easily upset when other people are sad, or tell a story that's sad, or she even hears something that sounds sad. She's the kind of kid who might cry because an inanimate object 'looked lonely'. She doesn't mean to be make herself a burden or be overly dramatic, she just doesn't know how to deal with her feelings sometimes. It's like her body's too small for all her emotions, and she doesn't know how else to deal with it.
Tia has a caring streak that leads her to want to take care of younger children. She likes animals as well, and has always been good about being delicate around both of them. If there's one thing this girl is, it's gentle. She doesn't often run around yelling like other children her age, and is always very careful with things, both her possessions and others. She is a polite and well behaved child, if a little lethargic.
One time she does perk up, however, is at the opportunity of learning something new. She's crafty and likes to work with her hands and create things, so she's excited to take a craft. She's been going around asking as many people as she can an endless stream of questions about their own crafts, often making a nuisance of herself to her siblings. Tia feels very closely to certain people (her biological mother, her siblings) but though she will often go and visit them, and may whine if they refuse to spend time with her, she is not overly clingy or dependent on them. She is not shy about making friends with people around the weyr, and is generally self-motivated more than looking for adult approval.

History: Tia is the child of bluerider Ristia and an unknown father. Though she never knew her father, she was aware of Ristia as her mother, and became attached to her, even if they weren't all that close. Tia stayed in the creche a while, as no suitable parents were found. She was only recently placed with foster parents, a pair of riders looking to adopt. Though Tia was always slow to warm up to people, part of the reason they'd never found her a good match, things looked to be going well.
Sadly, thread returned shortly thereafter and her foster mother was killed. Her weyrmate was distraught, and though she hadn't known them for more than a turn, Tia was terribly upset at the loss as well. Though she tried to be comforting to him, the man simply couldn't deal with a child and she was returned to the creche. With more orphaned children in the wake of thread than parents to take care of them, the process of getting children paired up with foster parents has been lagging somewhat, and Tia remained in the creche. She didn't really mid. Though she couldn't say she had really loved them like parents, she was still a little emotionally raw from the loss of her last parents. In any case, she kind of liked it in the creche. She liked being with other kids and nice creche workers without having the emotional weight of having to form a one-on-one bond with someone.
Meanwhile, as she approached the age of apprenticehood, it seemed it might not be necessary any way. Looking ahead, Tia has been trying to explore as many different crafts as she can before she has to make a decision. She's often underfoot, bothering people about what they're doing, and generally making herself a nuisance. Though if you can set aside some time to talk to her, she's fairly easy to wrangle into helping out with chores as well.
Other: Tia is fairly close to her siblings by blood, Rissa and Riagan, although they had different foster families. She especially likes to bother them in their respective craft workshops.
