10 years from now
Spying on people
Crystals, vague images....door.
The doors.
It had been a very odd dream, Jacob had woken that night in a terror like the many nights before he had become a hunter. It wasn't unusual just alarming that they had happened again. But with Wan and Jin by his side now, they were so much easier to handle. Because he wasn't alone and because he wasn't that terrible nightmare had been pushed to the furthermost corner of mind. Where it stayed for years.
-Ten years later-
Spinar had enjoyed life up until this point, though it was so much harder now to do missions away from his lovers. Though it had to be done, he was a specialist after all and they needed him. Duty before pleasure and all that he told himself as he arrived the first day at the Arctic Base. It was cold and in need of repairs, repairs why exactly he was here.
It didn't take him long to get things running smoothly but Jacob had started to notice that some of the fixes were slowly being broken again. Sabotage? There was that sneaking suspicion and it lingered in mind as he started to watch the other hunters of the base. One of the second in commands at the base in particular, one that seemed to vanish when the horsemen attacked randomly.
Or not so ...randomly.
Jacob had sent a text to both Wan and Jin, telling them he had his suspicions about the lead, telling them about the broken repairs and how the damaged seemed to almost come from someone who knew how to damage them. After those messages it wasn't long before he found his chance. The horsemen had attacked and he saw the second in command duck out, he followed. Feeling his heart beating so loudly against chest it was painful. His feet raced across the cold, cracked ground as he tailed the man. Tailed him to a place just outside of the base, watched as horsemen approached the lead and then gave him something.
What was that?
Jacob tried to get closer, but when he did they heard him, he soon found himself captured by horsemen that had been hidden. Tossed to the ground in front of his startled superior, no, his grinning superior, the man had known! He had known Spinar had followed him! You couldn't just leave things along, the other hunter asked as he back handed him to the cold ground. Spinar grunted and called his cowardice, "you know they are just going to kill you too, you moron!" This wasn't met well, the horsemen hissed and suddenly everything rang. His ears felt hot as a sharp pain pierced through chest, then another, the man he had followed watched as Spinar grew paler and opened his mouth.
His own gasp for air was so strange a sound he hadn't noticed it. Couldn't hear the words he saw form across the hunters lips above him. Everything slowly started to go from blinding pain to numb.
Red..
Why was the ground red? It was his last thought as he watched the distance between his own blood and face grow closer..
-Awake-
Spinar woke with a strangled gasp, the sheets of the bed tossed away in one smooth motion. His hands raced to touch the places that had moments before been in such pain. Then to lips, then in front of face to check for blood.
Nothing.
But- beside him he felt Jin shift and groan in annoyance. Blues slid over to look at the other man, check him to make sure he was ok too, then to Wan wholay just on the other side of Jin. They were all ok. Jin moved again and Spinar tried to calm his racing heart, laying back down he curled around Jin tightly. Holding him painfully close as he tried to settle, whispering to an ear as Jin tried to squirm free, "...I just..need a second. Just...a second." They had been together so long Jin would understand, he would surrender for just a couple moments of comfort cuddling.
