gaia_crown Defense Base Location - Antarctica (one of multiple Antarctica bases).
Description - Positioned on the cusp of titan territory, the Antarctic base is a fortified and sprawling hub of hunter activity. Horsemen are invading, but it is your job to fend them away from the shield.
Bonuses: Moon Hunters here get a bonus. They may defend the base and take the auto damage onto themselves (no other Hunter can). Mist Hunters roll 1d4. If even, they can copycat this bonus.
Mechanic: Roll 1d6. If 1 or 6, your guarding the base goes smoothly (rp it out = success!). If not, you spawn a horseman mob. It has a cumulative 20/20 HP (+10 for EACH ADDITIONAL CHARACTER IN THE RP) and does -5 auto damage to the base shield of 30/30 HP every time you attack it. Your goal is to defeat it without the base shield hitting 0, or you lose that base!

The Mist Hunter had come extra prepared for this particular mission. He'd dealt with the Sahara before, which mean he was now expected to deal with the polar opposite. Which was the Antarctic. The wind had a chill that seeped down to the bone despite the FEAR shield, which was why he brought extra supplies.
His backpack was extra full of blankets rather than bottles of water, he brought several thermos filled with hot water. The base most likely had its own means of heating but Pedro included several packets of hot chocolate mix (with marshmallows of course). So far, things had been quiet for long enough that he could risk making a batch.
"Any of you girls want a mug of cocoa?" he asked the other hunters who'd been assigned with him.

The last time Chao had defended a base it was also a base in Antarctica. A Different one but still. It was a base in the freezing cold tundra far away from civilization. Clearly her superiors still didn't trust her when it came to protecting civilians. Not that she could blame them.
At least this time she was not alone, she was defending the base with a team of three other people. Two of whom she had met before, Pedro and Meara where people she considered friends, she hoped that Aya would become a friend in time as well.
So far their evening had been extremely uneventful which was boring but good. She had made sure to wear a hoodie under her winter coat. (Her hunter Coat was layered like a Cloak over the other coat, couldn't go anywhere with out it after all.) The moon hunter had also brought first aid supplies and some heating pads. Her pet Koi Phoenix, Asagi was curled up near her neck acting as a bit of a scarf as the Bird minipet seemed to be like a mini furnace. She hoped the cold wouldn't make him sick but Asagi had followed her through the portal.
Chao smiled as Pedro offered them Hot Cocoa. "That sounds wonderful. I'd love some."

Antarctica was certainly different from the last base she had helped defend, not a lot of snow to be found in Las Vegas after all. Still it was nice to be in a different environment from time to time, though the coat she was wearing along with the fear shield were certainly the only reasons she mostly comfortable. "Sure I'll take one if you don't mind please." Meara gave the Mist Hunter a smile for the offer. Hot cocoa was never meant to be turned down after all and so far there wasn't any trouble Horsemen wise to distract from that.
Her eyes darted over to Chao briefly to take in the bundled up Hunter and her smile got an amused look to it when she spotted the minipet. Not that she hadn't seen him there before since they had been here for a little while but it still amused her each time she spotted it.

"No thank you." Aya politely declined, sighing as she glanced out over the horizon. She was honestly a bit nervous, this being her first mission and all... but her face looked cool and collected as she pressed her lips together, her contact-filled eyes keen as they stared past her fellow hunters.
She didn't speak much ever since being taken down a peg by the division leader, and was definitely grounded for a little bit of time, not really wanting to press anyone else's buttons or rock any boats.
If she was offered a mug of cocoa anyway, she'd take it, but... Aya honestly didn't want to impose, even though he'd offered.
Breathing in through her teeth, she offered a smile. "... hopefully we won't run into too much trouble, here."

Pedro nodded in acknowledgement at the response, taking care to brew up just enough for three people. He didn't want to waste anything, not while they were out here. It wasn't for that long, Pedro knew, but you could never really be certain when dealing with Horsemen.
The thermos was put away and with the clink of mugs, Pedro began to distribute the hot beverages to those who'd taken him up on his offer. When he reached Aya, he still handed her the last mug. Sort of as a last chance gesture. It wasn't that big of a deal to the Mist Hunter to have to make himself a mug of the stuff.
"Hope for the best, expect the worst. We got ourselves a good number of Moons to protect the base should the need arise."
"Thank you!" Chao said gratefully as she took her mug of Cocoa. Taking a sip she was delighted to find the warm drink was excellent. "It's so good~"
Asagi quickly dunked his beak into the beverage and took a few sips of the drink as soon as Chao lowered it from her mouth, which caused the girl to let out an indignation "HEY." At the minipet, who knew he wasn't supposed to steal food or drinks.
Chao made sure to hold the drink out of her minipet's reach after that. "Safety in numbers." She agreed.

(ignore roll, rolled for wrong char/division lol)
Aya took the mug gratefully, blinking in surprise at his generosity.
"... thank you," She murmured, before taking a sip and breathing out in relief, nodding in satisfaction.
"This is very good. Did you make the mix yourself?" She actually smiled at him, glad that he was here. It was soothing to have him around, and Aya kind of wanted to spend more time with him.
He felt like family.
