[ TASK ]
As one of the engineers it is your job to help apply the work of the metalworkers into new technology and develop products to better observer humanity and reap their data. This is where the hardware side of development goes on, though some software is tested at this level.
[ MECHANICS ]
Roll 1d6 twice, each roll is half the day.
- You set up a complex motherboard array, newly developed peripheral, hardware or something else in development and yet when it is plugged in, for no discernible reason you can figure out it shorts out and goes on fire.
- You come up with a more efficient way of drawing heat away from hot machinery in a flat plane, if you have already rolled this, you simply develop this further.
- Somehow you accidentally stumble upon a means of pulling data from a data line without being easily detectible
- You help to develop the ability to make everything smaller, phones, cables and spying devices.
- You spend all of your shift trying to figure out the problems with a complex circuit and even with the help of your supervisors, no process is made at all.
- You work hard all day and get your break extended by Tyr who is very pleased with the whole department's hard work.

This was more her speed, if anything else (or at least, she thought). Maybe not entirely on the software side, but hardware... Iyari wanted to make everything out of chrome. Or some other metal that would be durable and look awesome. ...As long as you weren't driving it. Working with the team was fun, well, fun in the sense that things were getting done efficiently. The Sun Division Hunter was adept at fighting and screwing together motherboards with her brute strength. They came together well and she was rewarded in her first half of the day.
But it was getting boring.
In the second half of the day she decided to try her hand at making a smaller model of a computer that could be worn on a wrist, with a projected screen. It seemed doable, and she'd seen things that were like it so that was a place to start. Though she could see a few problems already with water durability and how it looked like one of those obnoxious smart watches or whatever they were. "Mmm..." With a quick movement it was crumpled up and she tossed it into the trash.
Instead, she started working on a smaller usb that was capable of more storage, and thus more fine-tuned electronics. While in theory a good idea, in practice entirely different. Iyari was feeling tired though, and more bored than she anticipated and she set the plans down, staring at them. Again, she was praised but wasn't sure why, opting to work through the extended break until the end of the day. On her workspace, crumpled papers and discarded notes.
"I think I'll stick to my day job." She muttered, feeling Athena agree at the back of her mind. Not a bad day, but not really an eventful one either.
