It looked like the spirits would not try to fulfill his wish for rain. Aodan only hoped the spirits would listen to his inner plea but he had no expectations . He had been forsaken by his love and his herd. Though he could fathom the reasons behind his expulsion from the herd. He had broken herd law, and he was being punished. It might not seem fair to him that he was being used a an example to others about the perils of breaking herd law. However once he pushed back his turbulent emotion, he could understand his herds need to uphold it's laws. They had given him chances but he had not been flexible. The herd had not been against same sex relationships it had female pairing before but since it was a heavily dominated female herd it was expected that any males would act as sires. He had clearly flaunted herd law through not acting as a sire to his herd. He had felt like acting as a sire was betraying his love but his partner had no problem acting as a sire for the herd. When Aodan stood up against herd law and was expelled he had though his love would also leave the herd. He waited for months near the herd boundty line him but his childhood friend and love never showed up.
Aodan felt more betrayed by his love then he did by his herd. Aodan head slumped as he once again thought of negative thoughts, he couldn't seem to shake them . His mind always drifted back to his loses and he wasn't able to break free from his spiral of depression.
He suddenly got the feeling that he was no longer alone in the grassland. His ears wildly flicked from side to side trying to pinpoint a source. His eyes scanned the grassland but the sun was bright and it was hard to see. The sun was high in the sky and was almost blindingly intense at this hour. His intuition was seldom wrong, he narrowed his eyes trying to find where the other soq was. The soq was big and brightly colored and for a moment he almost thought it was his partner coming to find him at last. However the voice that came from the soq was not familiar and while his love had a bright coat he was not huge like this male. Aodan looked at the nearby male he was not in the mood for company but felt like he should at least make an effort not to appear like a wraith or spirit creature, " I am not an illusion and am still of this world, though the heat might hasten my demise."
