OH NO. This little critter is a feisty one. It snaps and barks and bites at you. "Aw, look at how excited it is to go to the PARTY!!!" Allen is standing over your shoulder. If you complain about the pet biting you, he places a hand on your shoulder and solemnly says, "Be strong. Let your battle spirit win him over."
This little critter is not bitey at all, but boy-oh-boy, is it energetic. The moment you have it's fur all covered in soap it knows. It makes a break for it, slipping out of your grasp and across the store, a barking, soapy, wet ball of fur. "A noble steed!" You hear Allen yell from another direction.
Roll 1 d6 until you roll even. When you roll even you catch the critter. For every odd you roll, Allen gives you a should of encouragement. "Keep trying! Defeat the evil of your doubt! Believe it!"
You make it through the bathing okay, but as you turn your back to grab the towel, the critter jumps off the table and heads straight for an enclosure holding several snakes. Roll 1 d6 until you roll even. When you roll even you successfully rescue the beast from the snake enclosure. Every time you roll odd Allen gives you pep talk: "Believe in yourself! Believe in the me that believes in you!"
No matter how hard you try, you can't seem to get this pet clean. If you tell Allen this, he will give you a speech about how what really matters is our heart. "Two hearts must beat as one. Once it's heart is clean, it's mind and body will be clean as well." He gives you a GREAT BIG BEAR HUG just to show you how it's done. You can't breathe. You think your ribs might be broken. "Now you know how much I believe in you!"
You decide that maybe the pet is just the color of soot naturally.
