Pretty or not she was an opponent to take seriously and he was going to try his best this time! That or make another fool of himself and then have no pride left after this....

He already had a good feeling about this spar. Grinning like a madman Zyphire raised his blades in preparation, "Prepare yourself!" He was going to start strong this time with a downward slash!

"Nevah!" she sassed back at his comment. She couldn't help if he constantly let his guard down and she took advantage! Sure, they were sparring, but that didn't mean she wasn't going to try and win. A battle is every bit a mind game as it is a physical test... Or at least that's what Tryston always told me. She saw his attempt to dodge and counter, but he missed, so she tried to stay one step ahead by swinging back with the butt of her lance.

Zyphire laughed at her response, "Stubborn." He replied before daring to take one of her blows. It thankfully was just a nick in the side this time rather than the huge blow from earlier. Now it was his time to try! Gritting his teeth Zyphire placed all he had into a swing towards her legs...maybe if he could knock her off of her feet...

She wasn't quite prepared for the force of the blow, and he managed to actually knick her in the side. "Hah, nice hit, but let's see if you can dodge this!" She twirled her lance for a sweeping blow, and swung at his legs.

At least he had managed to hit her! In his small victory Zyphire didn't notice exactly how quickly Serana had recovered from his minor blow. In fact by the time he had noticed she was already butting him with her spear...and it was not a gentle love tap. Letting out a loud groan Zyphire found himself once more eating snow, "Ugh." As the stars danced around his vision the male waved a hand in defeat, "Okay, okay..."

I guess this means I'm mucking out the stalls again... Dammit what was up with the women in this place? Was it the water or something that made them so impossibly strong? Still, it wasn't like he was upset, more just amused by how easily the girl seemed to throw him into the snow without a second thought. Maybe next time...
