Shen had closed the boarders, which he now refered to as "The Dragon's Gate", and had assigned several of his soldiers to defend the mouth of the crescent-shaped valley. There was only one way in or out...at least by normal, less suicidal means. The rockey cliffs that rose up on either side would prove hazardous and would tax anyone going in or out to attempt. Any hostility they clung to would slip through their claws and shatter.
...but that didn't mean there would be those that would try regardless.
Harbringer found herself patrolling the perimeter, her watchful eyes narrowed against the glare of the sun up above. If any tried to leave- she would see them. If any tried to come- she would see them. She may not be strong enough to bring them down herself, but she was fast and nimble and able to raise the alarm so that those blessed with power could address the situation.
Perhaps then, Shen would find a place of honor among them. The thought only kindled the ember of hope in her chest. Finally, she had a reason to be proud- she had a reason to aspire, something to aspire to, and an ideal...honor. She would be honored for her loyalty. If...only someone would be stupid enough to test the border.
She sighed, pulling herself to a rugged outropping facing the lava rock slides on the eastern side of the valley. Her bright coat, hardly befitting of a sister of the fire, made her fairly easy to spot- but perhaps that was a blessing. Let them see her.
She blinked against the sun, catching what looked like an odd colored pebble moving their way. The pebble stumbled slightly ,caught itself, and pressed forward. It was...small. A cub?
A cub.
She licked her draw maw and started down the rocks. Coming or going- it didn't matter. It had horns- it was one of theirs. It was his.
