gaia_star Step 2: You need to tame this mount! Of course they are all aggressive. Your mount WILL NOT joust for you until you tame it. You need 10 tame points to tame it. Feel free to help others tame their mounts too by rolling for others as well and quoting them as well as interacting with other players during this step as this is primarily an RP.
Yes, if you hit 0 HP (of your character) during this exercise YOU PASS OUT, and you'll have to start from the first stage.
Roll 1d10. Match up the result! Do this until you hit +10 tame points!
1: Your mount runs up and takes HUGE bite of your arm until you finally relinquish it. Thank god for Fear shields! -5 HP, +5 tame points.
2: Your mount shrieks loudly and tries to trample you. -HALF YOUR HP. +5 tame points.
3: Your mount stares at you in the eye:
- Yell at it: It shrieks at you back but doesn't take any action. + 5 tame points - Don't tell at it/ talk to it nicely: It feels like that's a sign of weakness and takes a good bite of your hair. It takes a while for you to make it let go. -5 HP + 5 tame points.
4. Your mount suddenly tries to run away, yanking you on the leash. -5 HP, +5 tame points
5. Your mount seems surprisingly friendly. It makes a soft cooing noise.
- Pet it: You try to pet it. It immediately opens its mount and somehow bites down on your entire arm. Again, your Fear Shield prevents you from taking physical damage, but your weapon is not happy. - HALF YOUR HP + 0 tame points
- Don't pet it: Yeah, don't pet a wild animal! It is satisfied you gave it space and continues cooing/purring loudly. +10 tame points
6. Hunter (the Sun lead) comes over to inspect your mount. He says some words of encouragement to it, and it is suddenly well behaved. +10 tame points
7. Your mount is OUT OF CONTROL. It goes berserk and tries to bite a random person! -10 HP to the person posting above you, just quote them for the damage! +0 tame points
8. Your mount suddenly sits on the ground and refuses to move, like a stubborn dog. Nothing you do will fix this, not without another hand. (OOC: You need to FLAG ANOTHER PLAYER to help you pull this mount forward. Quote them. If there's nobody to flag/ no players around/ quote zoobey! You don't need to wait for their rp reaction, just continue on after you've quoted, though it is encouraged they quote you back!) +10 tame points once flagged
9. Your mount wanders off entirely! You can't find it at all! (Go back to the first stage, you have to reroll your mount...)
10. Your mount is attracted to your clothing. It eats it! (-1 clothing article from your clothing inventory, you can pick which one). +5 tame points.
gaia_star[ Step 3: ]NOW YOU CAN FINALLY JOUST. Rp however interacting with your mount. With a little bit of courage, you finally get on the haphazard saddle! Wait - where's the lance?
"JOUSTING WEAPONS ARE FOR CHUMPS," you hear Hunter yell at you when you finally look at him questioningly. "REAL PREDATORS USE THEIR NATURAL WEAPONS."
Thankfully the assistant comes up and gives you a wooden sword, after a very judging stinkeye.

Pick an opponent by quoting them. If you have none, you can face an NPC HUNTER. Their mount damage is always 8.
Now, roll 4d10. Your opponent rolls the same as well on their post and does the same action. Your goal is to see who got the highest joust points. The player with the lower joust points falls off their mount and loses! (The mount flies away shrieking, it hates you). If you win, the mount also flies away shrieking, it hates you.
From the 4d10, use this to sum up your joust points: First dice (of the 4d10): This is the [ DAMAGE MODIFIER ] + your mount's [ JOUSTING DAMAGE]. - EG If you roll a 6, that's [ YOUR MOUNTS JOUSTING DAMAGE ] +6.
Second dice (of the 4d10): This is the [ SPEED MODIFIER ]. Subtract your MOUNTS SPEED from the SPEED MODIFIER. You cannot go below 0. - EG If you roll a 5, that's [ YOUR MOUNTS SPEED ] - 5
Third dice (of the 4d10) is your [ DURABILITY MODIFIER ]. Subtract your MOUNT'S DURABILITY from the DURABILITY MODIFIER. You cannot go below 0. - EG If you roll a 3, that's [YOUR MOUNTS DURABILITY -3
LAST dice (of the 4d10) is your [ AGGRESSION THRESHOLD ]. Take a look at your mount's AGGRESSION mater. If your dice roll is HIGHER than your mount's aggression meter, you are safe. If it is LOWER, you automatically fall off and lose. If both players fall off and lose, you are BOTH LOSERS. CONGRATS.
ADD ALL THE RESULTS. HIGHEST RESULT WINS (assuming you don't fall off).

EXAMPLE: I roll 4d10 and get 1, 4, 5 6. - My mounts damage is 2, so I add the [ DAMAGE MODIFIER ] I rolled of 1, from my dice roll, to get 3. - My mount's speed is 5, so I subtract the [ SPEED MODIFIER ] I rolled of 4, to get 1 - My mount's durability is 10, so I subtract the [ DURABILITY MODIFIER ] I rolled of 5 to get 5. - My mount's aggression is 4, and I rolled 6 [ AGGRESSION THRESHOLD] , so I am safe!
TOTAL DAMAGE DONE: 3+ 1+5 = 9 MOUNT DAMAGE

LOSERS, well I mean, not everyone can win right?
gaia_star All rpers (win or lose) who complete a successful joust get + 2 arcana (wild card) + 10 currency. You can joust as many times as you'd like. If you have a jousting buddy, you can turn this into a [JOUST PRP].
After having beaten a Hunter before at jousting, Meara had decided that she hadn't had enough of it as it was fun. So she ended up asking the Moon Hunter who helped her with the fluff before if she was interested in a joust, which it turned out she did. It didn't matter to Meara who won this time around, having won once before and was just in it for the fun, but she did hope that they both did well since she knew very well that the mounts weren't tame in the least and apparently hated everyone at all times.
She reached to grab one of the Apex mounts and when she managed she looked over the Apex with wide eyes. "Ok, last time I had fluff and this time I have death." She said to Chao as she stared at the dragon looking Apex. It certainly looked like she was in for a ride since it didn't look like it would be easy to tame, let alone joust with. "If I fall off of it, promise you wont laugh please."

Chao had enjoyed her last jousting match which she had won. When someone asked her if she wanted to joust with her, Chao quickly said yes. She was excited to try again.
Chao was very glad that she didn't have the spider again, that thing was out for blood. The fluff looked like it was easier to tame. "I won't laugh if you wont." She responded with a smile. "I'm glad no one got the spider, that thing liked to step on people." She hoped that she'd be able to avoid being trampled this time. Although so far she was two for two when it came to her mounts steeping on her, first the wolf and then the spider, at least the spider didn't ditch her like the wolf.
"Sounds like a good deal to me." Meara said with a nod. "Liked to step on people? Sounds like you've had it worse then I have when it comes to mounts seeing how I only had the fluff refusing to move for a bit, though I have no idea what this one is going to do." She was glad that Chao had gotten the fluff fox, hopefully it wouldn't decide the other Moon Hunter was a door mat as well.
She turned back to her mount and did her best to try and tame the dragon lizard and it seemed to be going well. Though she did just get one of her clothes items munched by it. "Oh come on, I don't have many back up clothes yet thank you!"

Chao turned to the other hunter when she started to yell, apparently her apex had just eaten one of her clothing items. Ouch. "Rude." She said to the dragon. "I have some spare cloths back at base if you need 'em." She offered.
Her own pet seemed rather calm, a stark change from the spider of doom. It seemed very content and was making a cute pur coo noise. She wanted to pet it, petting it however seemed like a bad idea, after having dealt with the spider she was not to keen on putting her hands any closer to the animal then they had to be until it was time to joust.
"Thanks, I have a few but I hadn't been able to go shopping for more just yet." Meara sighed but gave the other woman a smile. She was glad at least that Chao was having an easy time of things, the fluff fox seemed to be content with everything so far at least.
She turned back to her temporary dragon and tried to tame it a bit more, hopefully with out any more loss of clothes. Only by the time she turned back around the dragon mount had decided to take off and disappear. "...Why am I not surprised?" She couldn't help but laugh a bit and shook her head. "I'll be right back after I grab another mount."

Meara hurried back over to the pen and reached in to grab another mount. Hopefully this time it would be a bit more cooperating overall. At the very least she hoped the new one didn't fly off or eat any more of her clothes! But then much to her amusement and horror, she managed to snag either the same one as before or another one of it's kind. "Ok, can you at least be a nicer pendragon?"

"Okay, nice pendragon. You are going to be much better right?" Meara cooed as she tried to tame the Apex, really hoping she had better luck this time. However it seemed like the dragon didn't like being cooed at as it went and bit her on the arm in retaliation. "Ouch!" She yelped and rubbed her now very sore arm.

While she was distracted by the bite on her arm, her temporary mount decided that she looked like a good doormat while shrieking it's head off. Meara finally got it under control but was looking a little worse for wear thanks to it, and she gave Chao a wobbly smile. "Well, I think we can finally joust, though the way things are going I'm getting tossed. I hope you stay on your fluff there!"

Chao nodded "That's good, I hope you manage to go shopping soon." She turned to her mount to keep an eye on it and when she turned back around a few seconds later Meara's mount was gone. "It dine and dashed!!" She shouted. "I'll be here!." She responded as Meara went off to get another hopefully more cooperative mount.
The other moon hunter returned with another dragon, and it did not seem to cooperative. It bit her and then stomped on her. "You okay?"
The other hunter seemed to be okay which was good. "Yeah, I hope you manage to stay on you've had a rough enough time as is."
Chao hopped onto her mount and took the sword from the assistant staring hunter down, as if she was daring him to say something,
"I've been better and I've been worse. I just think I'll be taking a bit of a break after this." Meara said with a small laugh and a nod in thanks to the other Hunter's concern. "Oh here's hoping but I wont hold my breath." She climbed on to her willful mount and got ready to joust, here own sword at the ready when Chao pulled hers out.
Unfortunately when they charged her dragon mount decided that it didn't want to actually joust. And sent her flying. Meara yelped when she landed on the ground and glared at the retreating dragon before looking over at Chao and giving a smile and a shrug. "Well, I knew that was going to happen. Congrats on winning." She said with a laugh.

The fluffy thing she was riding seemed to be content running along the path until it noticed just how close the pendragon was coming, when the other apex through its rider and flew off and fluffy thing screeched in horror. Chao had barely gotten on the ground when the fox like thing took off.
"Well they didn't seem to enjoy that." She mused as the creatures ran off. "Thanks, hope you aren't hurt." She said turning her attention back on Meara. She offered her hand to help her new friend up.

"No more then what some sleep can cure and maybe a bit of bruise cream." She said with a shrug. It wasn't like she hadn't had worse training after all or even while on a mission. "So what are you going to do next?"

"That's good." Training was rough and sometimes it felt like you where hit by a train but it wasn't getting mauled by crazy creatures. She supposed that it could count as training though.
"I'm not sure, head over to that weird pet shop?" She was enjoying the fish flopping frenzy that was going on over there. It was nice to take on a spying mission that was enjoyable for once. Unlike retail.

"Oh the one where you get to train the Florescence?" She asked. "I think that has to be my favorite undercover mission." And really it was, no chance of getting hurt, she got to do her job of spying, got to have fun AND got to keep the adorable fish afterwards. "I think I might head over there soon too."
