His world is black, grey, and everything in between. Such a colorless world. But he has never seen anything different. The surprise, pity, and questions that accompany the discovery of his eyesight always make him feel lacking, however. Remarks about his coat leaves him wondering just how beautiful a rainbow could be. He can rarely ever make out a stripe in the gray sky. When others exclaim about how beautiful a rainbow is that is currently in the sky, most of the time his eyes can’t pick it out.

A small smile graced his lips as he stared up at the sky now. Sure, he can’t see color. But his world was still bright. And he can be his own rainbow. Grinning, he looked back to the lion, eyes twinkling. Of course, just because he accepted himself and his vision does not mean he isn’t going to quest for color. Curiosity rang deeply inside him, resounding throughout his body. He needed to know. To see color before his life comes to an end.

”Do you know which way to the, uh… closest seer? Wisdom? Sight person?” Rangi frowned, stumbling over the variety of ways to call the seers. He didn’t even know half of the terms, to be honest. But he hoped the pink lion would understand.

His companion, Sinowo, watched quietly. She was beginning to become used to the newness in the world. In her heart, she knew she had never seen such sights before, even if she couldn't remember. Rangi gave her a sheepish grin and shrugged.

Baik stared at the pale wild dog and his female companion in curiosity. It wasn’t so hard talking to these little dogs, being tiny compared to his own large form. It was comforting. An easy and relax smile lifted his expression as he watched the dogs, consumed in his own thoughts. Yes, it was definitely easier to talk to dogs.

A frown crossed his expression, not full of trouble but with thought. A seer? He knew of them. But personally, he did not know one. He paused, thinking carefully, trying to remember all the rumors he heard. Of course, he didn’t hear much if the speakers were particularly… large. Finally, he remembered one sort of rumor. ”I think there was one in a nomadic pack I passed a few hours ago,” he replied, feeling slightly abashed that it took him so long to remember it. ”I can take you there, if you would like?” Baik offered with a gentle smile, hoping to seem gentle and friendly to the little guy and his lady friend. He didn't want to scare them off. He could definitely relate to feeling intimidated.

There was a seer nearby? Excitement roared up inside of Rangi and he tossed an excited grin to Sinowo. Maybe this was it. He had not set out on his journey until a few weeks ago. And now, he finally found a seer. He just needed to meet one. All seers could do the same thing, right? He had heard the rumors. Clearing his throat, he nodded, not wanting to seem over eager. However, he could hardly control his body movements, the excited fidgeting with a touch of impatience. ”Yes, please!” he said in a near rough before clearing his throat again. ”I mean… if you have the time. That would be nice.”

Sinowo had her own question, however. "What is a seer?" she blurted out quickly, unsurely.

The male dog was quite easy to read. It was a bit amusing. The female one, however... Baik tilted his head, looking at her. Surely she should know? "They're ones who have the vision. Who see things about the past or the future. Even the present. Things that they shouldn't have been able to see. Although, I have heard it isn't just Sight. There's smell, feeling, hearing... I can only imagine all the different types of abilities," he explained slowly.

Now, focusing on the male again, Baik turned a bit to go in the direction he had come from, a grin gracing his muzzle. Yes, this was the sort of company he preferred. And the canines was amusing. It was fun. Not a wreck of nerves, after all. And the pack that he had passed? It was a pack of wild dogs. It would be an easy and short trip. ”I have the time. Let’s go,” he beckoned with his chin, already moving. ”I’m Baik’hati, by the way. I realize I don’t even know your names, strangers.” He needed to know the name of his new friends. Perhaps he can see if they can travel with him for a little while…

They were on their way. Rangi was so excited. He wanted to dart forward, race ahead. But it would be rude of him to leave his companions behind. Humming, he kept pace, ears perking when the pale lion inquired about his name. ”Oh, me? My name is Rangi’ukungu. But you can just call me Rangi,” he chirped, eyes focused eagerly forward. He really didn’t want small talk at the moment, he wanted all the energy to go into getting there.

Sinowo also didn't want to have small talk. The past incidents that she had experienced... with the visions and the convulsions... was she really sick or was she seeing visions? Or were they apart of her past? She didn't dare to voice this to Rangi, to get his hopes up. "Rangi has named me Sinowo Chinkokomo," she murmured absently.

”Rangi,” the lion mused, eyes bright. ”It means misty colors, correct?” An amused smile ghosted across his expression. Fitting, considering his coloring. The wild dog wasn’t too talkative. Maybe he was shy. Or intimidated. He should get the little guy to warm up to him. ”Why do you need to see a seer?” he asked, hoping the question wasn’t too personal and would cause Rangi to clam up on him.

Sinowo's response had his eyes blowing wide. Named?! He frowned, considering. Should he ask what sort of relationship they had? Perhaps that would be too rude... Decidedly, he ignored it, though his curiosity in the pair was growing.

Obviously, the lion wasn’t going to indulge his silent wishes. Resisting a sigh, he smiled tightly at Baik. ”Because I want to see in color. At least for a moment,” he answered. It really wasn’t a secret. There was no need to hide it. And definitely no reason to be rude to the lion, if he wanted to get to that pack. He fidgeted, looking around and then giving a glance to Sinowo. She seemed uncomfortable for some reason? Was it because of the lion? His own paranoia kicked into action and he moved closer to the female. ”How far away do you think they are?” Rangi asked, glancing at her again. She was very quiet now.

”Not too much further,” Baik replied absently. In fact, he barely heard himself reply. What had the dog said? To see in color? Does that mean... ”Can you not see color? What do you see, then? Have you always been like this? Wait, does this mean you can’t see… you can’t see the rainbow on your coat?” It was too stunning, so stunning that the lion didn't realize how rude it was to ask the dog. Of course, Baik had heard of conditions like that. But he had never really been struck with the reality of it. How pitiful. To not see all the colors in the world.

This was too ridiculous. Too annoying. Too suspicious. Usually, Rangi could put up with it. But the big oaf was just too annoying. Sinowo was uncomfortable about something and Rangi couldn't stand the idea of having her suffer much longer. And after observing the ground, there had definitely not been a pack. His eyes narrowed. Were they led somewhere bad? Was the lion some psycho killer? Nerves settled in, mind working in overdrive. He wanted to see color, sure. A seer would know what he needed to do. But… he needed to live in order to do that. And he needed to keep Sinowo alive. He could not be responsible for her death. Taking in a deep breath, he stopped and grinned widely. ”Oh, you know what? We have to head back home, I forgot I had to do this important… thing. I’m so sorry. Thank you for taking the time though!” Before hearing the lion’s response, Rangi bumped Sinowo to get her running.
She caught on and, with only a brief moment of a confused expression, began dashing off in the direction they came from. Rangi was not a step behind her.

Baik stared after the retreating wild dogs in confusion. Something important? Frowning, he sat where he was, pondering over it. Could it be dangerous? Should he follow after the dogs? What if they were in trouble? Eyes wide, Baik jumped to all four paws, looking around. He had seen the wild dogs run off… and had forgotten which way. In fact… looking at his surroundings, the lion couldn’t really tell if he recognized anything. Had he gotten lost again? A sigh escaped him as he laid down, suddenly lethargic. So, he was lost. Again. Great.
