"Okay, look," the manager seems very irritated. "We just had two trucks come in and drop off their goods. Our current help mixed the boxes up."
He hands you a clip-board. "I need you to check each box's invoice and decide where it goes. If the invoice says 'Cavalry' you just put an X here," he points to the bottom left corner of the paper, "and have those idiots stack it over there. Don't actually count Cavalry boxes in the total number of boxes on the form. If it says anything else on the box, I need you to open it and make sure the invoice matches. Fill out your report when you're done."
Roll 8 d4: These are the boxes, and there are 8 of them. For each box follow the instructions below and RP accordingly. --If you roll doubles, it means you have two of that particular box and need to follow it's instructions twice. Same with triples, etc.
This box says it holds one complete silver dinner set. Roll 1 d10 to see what's missing.

Two plates are missing. -------9. There are NO forks in this set. WHAT?! -------10. Everything is there, but the large serving platter has a huge gouge on it. Best make a note.
This box is supposed to hold on large grandfather clock. Best check for damages. Roll 1 d6. If even it's in perfect condition. If odd the glass on the front is broken. You had better make a note.
Three large tapestries from the year 1400. Roll 1 d4. If you roll a 1 or 2, one tapestry is missing. If you roll a 3, they all have water damage. If you roll a 4, everything looks good!
This box is labeled "Cavalry". No need to check the contents, simply RP ordering the part-timers to stack it in the corner.

Working with his hands, now this was a job Pedro could really get behind! He wasn't aware of the Antique store's... other function and he wasn't looking to draw attention to himself (not unless ordered) so as far as he was concerned, he was here as some muscle and an extra pair of eyes to make sure stuff were delivered when and where they were supposed to be delivered!
And what's more, the Mist Hunter was going to have company for this job in the form of a fellow Mist hunter. That was always a bonus in his opinion. "So, you think we can get through this fast?" he asked.

It would be fitting for the first task for her to undertake would be some sort of inventory control system, just inspecting items and taking notes. Her kind of work, nice and slow with hopefully no spontaneous battles that she would have to partake in. (Hopefully nothing too suspicious either since well, these businesses had been reported of being a little shady).
Blinking from her clipboard, Maple gave the other fellow a look before blushing ever so slightly as she stammered a response, "h-hopefully. Th-though sometimes... th-these k-kinds of jobs take time?" It was hard to tell just how it would go since they had yet to see the items in question. She bit her lip a little as she looked at the mostly unmarked boxes.

"A surprise in every box, huh?" Pedro remarked cheerfully, trying to keep the mood positive despite there being a distinct shortage of boxes marked Cavalry. Still, he set about opening the first three boxes and found a broken grandfather clock in one while the other two were in good shape.
"Do you think we'll find some old cuckoo clocks in one of these boxes?" he asked good-naturedly as he wrote down the details of his findings in a clear, practiced hand writing.
From Maple could tell, a majority of her boxes would also be that of surprise. All but one that had been labeled something called 'Cavalry.' It made her a little curious what it contained, maybe a little more than the unmarked boxes given the context of the word. But, she was here to do a job and not make assumptions. (Well, she could make those too probably in mission reports).
"Th-they're often a s-sought after c-collectable, especially older m-models. So, it-its p-possible." She replied in a mousey voice, trying not to sound too matter of factly over the random information she knew (lots of antique roadshow with grandma after all). Was she hoping for old books? Of course Maple was hoping for some sort of old book.
The two boxes, however, were dinnerware. Carefully checking each box, she found one missing a few spoons and the other missing the entire fork collection. In a slight panic, she began looked every which way around the boxes to make sure it hadn't been her dumbly missplacing them; since really, she wouldn't put it past herself to do something like that.
Maybe it was just coincidence that the next three boxes Pedro chose to inspect and open were those containing silverware. "Stir? You mean there are actual model names for cuckoo clocks?" he asked, turning with a quirked brow in amazement. Clearly he had little to no exposure to these things. To him, all he needed something to tell time. Cuckoo clocks were just novelty clocks to him.
When he fixed his attention back to the box, he had to make note of the missing gravy boats and the badly gouged tray. Holding it up for Maple to see, Pedro clucked his tongue, "Did they use this as a shield or something?"
He was pressing on about the clocks still and Maple felt her cheeks get a little brighter, never one to like being under pressure even if it was divulging trivial information. Maybe she shouldn't have spoken up but it was too late, "N-not really b-but like.. older c-clocks usually g-got b-better appraisals, especially f-from like.. G-Germany." It was what she remembered. Hand crafted as they were.
She tried to take her mind off by going to the next set of boxes but they were, of course, large grandfather clocks. Oh. Maybe that's what prompted him. Maple bit her lip again, assessing that one of them had taken damage while shipping had happened but at least the other two were still fine.
"Shields?" Well, it seemed like that made more sense for... them... to use it like that rather than for dinner like they were meant to be used.

"Or a weapon?" Pedro mused, running his fingers over the gouges on the tray before placing it back into the box and double-checking his findings.
If he noticed that Maple had any issues with idle chatter, he certainly didn't seem to show it but he did move onto a different topic. "Okay, last couple of boxes for me. You got everything handled on your end?" he asked, cutting through the tape to open and find the boxes held tapestries.
Maple offered him a small shrug in response, unsure of how else to respond because honestly it was all a possibility. She went to working on her last few herself.
"I j-just have these t-two." Well, one. She couldn't help the squeak that was made once she opened the first box to find it completely empty. One, a tapestry for sure - well at least this felt like more of an antique - but damaged in transport by liquid. Despite telling herself that it wasn't her fault, she still felt a little bad. As was her nature. Maple let out a shaky breath and closed the box.

"Alright, sounds like we're done here. Good job," Pedro beamed, giving the other Mist a thumbs up. He gave their work area another visual sweep, just in case there were any other boxes or some last minute additions the incompetent movers missed. Satisfied that the delivery area was clean and free of unstored and unlabeled containers, he grabbed for the forms and handed Maple a copy and a spare pen.
"Don't forget your code name," he whispered before giving her some space so he could answer the form.
Pedro was given the sort of smile she often gave those that she had worked with on missions, it was small and a little shy. "Y-yeah, th-that.. didn't seem t-too b-bad a job." Even if she still felt a little bit guilty of what had been lost and damaged. Still, it had been easy with decent enough company along the way. (She had to wonder why she never worked with this particular Hunter before).
"O-oh," she nearly squeaked, "I almost.. f-forgot about th-that, it's b-been a while since I've d-done these." Usually she was halled up somewhere now that she was at the highest rank and able to mostly discern her duties. With the reminder, Maple filled out the form.
